Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby set for summer holidays

‘This Morning’s Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are set to take their annual summer holidays at the end of the week.

The presenting duo are poised to head off on their holidays and will not be returning to the show until September, with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford set to fill their shoes in the coming weeks.

Phil revealed the news during an on-air game on Tuesday (07.07.20), when he decided to double the £1,000 cash prize of one viewer.

The veteran presenter quipped: "We’re off for the summer on Friday so they can’t sack me!"

ITV bosses have confirmed to Digital Spy that Eamonn and Ruth will replace the presenting duo during their summer break, with guest presenters taking over on Fridays.

The news came after Holly – who has Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and Chester, five, with husband Dan Baldwin – recently admitted that being a working mum has left her feeling "riddled with guilt" at times.

The 39-year-old TV star confessed that finding a healthy balance in her life has been her "biggest challenge".

She said: "Becoming a mum was the only thing I knew I definitely wanted when I was growing up, but the image I had never involved me being a working mum. That’s the biggest challenge.

"I’ve been riddled with guilt about getting that part wrong. You love them so much and you don’t want to mess them up."

Holly has presented the ITV daytime show since 2009, but its early start means she has to skip the school drop-off to be in the studio on time.

The presenter is worried she won’t be able to make up for lost time.

She said: "I didn’t do the drop-off because I was working.

"I hate that I wasn’t there because those memories you can’t get back."
