Philip Schofield will never enter ‘The Cube’

Phillip Schofield will never compete on ‘The Cube’.

The TV presenter will host a new series of the programme – which sees contestants attempt to complete difficult tasks all within the space of a cube – starting tonight (01.03.14), and although he says he’s tried a few of the challenges himself, he’ll never compete live on air.

He said: "I wouldn’t go in but I have played some of the games. Some I have been brilliant at, some I have been useless."

The 51-year-old host of ‘This Morning’ also spoke about one contestant on the ITV show who took nearly an hour to complete just one challenge, and claims it was tiresome to watch.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he joked: "I nearly forced the doors open to tell him to get on the beam! He had a lot of money to win or lose but it was 58 minutes of time that I will never get back."

Phillip also opened up about the end of ‘Dancing on Ice’ – which he presents with Christine Bleakley – as the final series reaches the semi-finals on Sunday (02.03.14).

He said: "I am sad that the team has been together for nine years and won’t be back again for another, but I am incredibly proud of the show."
