Peter Kay is ‘very romantic’

Peter Kay is "very romantic" towards his wife.
The 44-year-old comedian legend was given the opportunity to dress as a variety of TV and blockbuster heartthrobs in the bread company Warburtons’ new campaign ‘Pride And Breadjudice’ and has admitted he thoroughly enjoyed the "beautiful" experience because he’s very loving towards his spouse Susan Gargan and likes to spoil her with flowers and sweets.
He said: "I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and I’m so excited for people to see the final product. It looks and sounds beautiful. I’m very romantic. As time passes it’s very important to keep being romantic. Flowers, chocolates, weekends away, and occasionally I take the wife. Hey!! See you’re laughing already and the worlds a bit brighter for it."
Peter channeled sultry characters from classic love stories – including Pride and Prejudice’s Mr Darcy, TV hunk Poldark and handsome Sam from ‘Ghost’ – in the company’s spoof scenes.
One shot sees the funny man standing alongside a grand white horse in a three-piece suit, in scenes that echo ‘Pride and Prejudice’, while another scene sees him recreate the famous pottery moment in ‘Ghost’, originally played out by Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in the 1990 hit film, and wraps his hands around clay as he stares lovingly at a brunette beauty.
Peter follows in the footsteps of action hero Sylvester Stallone, and ‘Muppets’ favourite Kermit The Frog, in starring in a Warburtons ad.
The spoof scenes also retell how the Warburton family business first began, with Peter taking on the role of Thomas Warburton’s father.
And his grandson Jonathan revealed filming with Peter was a hilarious experience.
Jonathan Warburton, Chairman of Warburtons, said: "I’m very proud to see my family’s story on the big screen and think Peter makes a brilliant Thomas Warburton. It’s been fantastic working with the Bolton star and he really captures Warburtons personality. It’s been a lot of fun filming and we’re looking forward to entertaining families once again across the country."
