Peter Kay adds 10 more Phoenix Nights shows

Peter Kay has added an extra 10 dates to his ‘Phoenix Nights’ stage show.

The 41-year-old comedian is reuniting with the cast of the popular sitcom to raise money for Comic Relief and after the first two shows sold out in a matter of seconds, they will now perform a further 10.

Peter – who will reprise his roles as working man’s club owner Brian Potter and doorman Max – announced last week he and co-stars Dave Spikey, Paddy McGuiness and others were getting back together for two nights at the Manchester Arena on January 31 and February 1 next year.

However, the venue was inundated with fans looking for tickets when they went on sale yesterday (01.12.14) resulting in them adding a further ten dates, meaning the show will now run until February 12, 2015, with all proceeds going to charity.

Speaking about his decision to bring ‘Phoenix Nights’ back over ten years after it last aired in 2002, Peter said: "Because I always like to do something for Comic Relief and this year I just thought, it’ll take a year to probably organise … I rang the cast and they overwhelmed me with their generosity."
