Peter Davison’s first Doctor Who series released

Peter Davison’s first series of ‘Dotor Who’ will be the next release as part of the ‘Doctor Who: The Collection’ range.
BBC Studios has confirmed the debut of the fifth Time Lord – the 19th season of the original run – will be brought out on Blu-ray on November 19, following the success of Tom Baker’s first series.
Davison first joined the science fiction favourite in 1982, replacing Baker in the title role.
The seven classic adventures – set across almost 30 episodes – see the Doctor and companions Tegan, Nyssa and Adric battling The Master, Plasmatons, Monarch, Terileptils, Mara and the returning Cyberen.
Also included on the limited edition Blu-ray are brand new special features, inluding five ‘making of’ documentaries for ‘Four To Doomsday’, ‘Black Orchid’, ‘Castrovalva’, ‘Earthshock’ and ‘Time-Flight’.
As wel as an extended version of ‘Black Orchid Part One’, there will be surround sound mixes for ‘Kinda’ and ‘Earthshock’, plus rare studio footage from the latter, ‘Castrovalva’, ‘Four To Doomsday’ and ‘Time-Flight’.
While ‘Castrovalva’ will get an updated special effects release, seven more editions of ‘Behind the Sofa’ will also be featured alongside a new one-hour interview ‘Peter Davison In Conversation with Matthew Street’.
The eight disc box set – which also includes Davison and David Tennant’s mini-episode ‘Time Crash’ – boasts hours of special features previously released on DVD, and all 26 episodes will be remastered from scratch.
‘Doctor Who: The Collection – season 19’ includes the following stories from 1982:
Castrovalva (Four episodes)
Four To Doomsday (Four Episodes)
Kinda (Four Episodes)
