Peter Crouch turned down Strictly on Abbey Clancy’s ‘advice’

Abbey Clancy advised her husband Peter Crouch to turn down ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because she has "seen him dance".
The retired footballer recently admitted he has rejected the BBC One Latin and ballroom show a number of times, and says he is not as "technically" gifted as his wife – who won the Glitterball Trophy in 2013 – when it comes to dancing.
When asked if he had continually turned ‘Strictly’ down on the model’s advice, he replied: "Well, yeah on her advice, because she’s seen me dance.
"I enjoy dancing but I’m not as technical as Abbey was."
The former England star also admitted he would be desperate to emulate her success on the show if he did ever sign up for the programme.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: "We would probably be quite competitive, because she won the show.
"I would not like to come second to her."
‘GMB’ co-host Susanna Reid – who finished as runner-up to Abbey on the 11th series of ‘Strictly’ – said: "I know how that feels."
Last month, the 38-year-old star admitted he has turned down ‘Strictly’ on several occasions.
He said: "I’ve had offers obviously with what happened with the podcast and the book and others.
"I dipped my toe in because I’m 38, my football isn’t going to last forever so I was trying other things.
"I did my coaching badges and I started doing media kind of work, and yeah I do get offered things but I’ve turned down a lot."
