Perrie Edwards says filming Little Mix’s video in coronavirus pandemic was ‘bizarre’

Perrie Edwards says filming Little Mix’s latest video in the coronavirus pandemic was a "bizarre experience".

The girl group – which Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh‑Anne Pinnock – recently recorded their video for ‘Holiday’ and Perrie admits the atmosphere on set was completely different as everybody had to don "masks and visors" and they all had to stay "distanced" from one another.

Speaking to Jimmy Hill on Capital FM’s early evening show, she said: "It was a very bizarre experience. It was like, everybody had to fill out forms, everybody had to wear masks and visors who were on set, there was only a certain number of people on set. We had to stay far away from each other, and they are going to somehow super-impose it. So we were together, but we were distanced, so it’s so clever how they’ve done it, and we saw an edit yesterday and we gagged. It’s insane."

Little Mix’s new talent show ‘The Search’ also was pushed back due to the pandemic, but it is due to air on BBC One this autumn.

Perrie said: "We can’t wait for everyone to finally see what we’ve been working on because it’s so good! This show is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time."

Jade added: "The auditions were great fun to film. So much talent auditioned for the show that it was genuinely tough to decide who should go through. There are lots of twists and turns."

In March, it was revealed ‘The Search’ live shows, four shows across Saturdays in May with a live studio audience, had been delayed due to coronavirus.

A source said at the time: "The girls have been told the live shows for their TV series ‘The Search’ are going to be delayed. The plan was to air four live shows every Saturday night across May. But because these would be filmed in front of a live studio audience, they’ve had to pull the plug because of coronavirus.

"It’s a really frustrating time for the group but they know there’s nothing that can be done."
