Perrie Edwards’ role model pressure

Perrie Edwards feels the "pressure" of being a role model to young girls.
The ‘Black Magic’ hitmaker thinks it is a "massive compliment" that young girls look up to her and her Little Mix bandmates – Leigh Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson – but admits she will "do silly things" from time to time.
She told the new issue of Fault magazine: "I think being named role models kind of happened just naturally, we never really asked for it. Which is lovely, I love the fact that girls look up to us and we empower people and inspire them. But obviously, we’re young girls and we’re going to do silly things sometimes that can kind of put pressure on us, but we’re just being ourselves.
"And if that means that we’re being role models by just being ourselves, then that’s incredible. It’s a massive compliment. We don’t think it’s fair that women get scrutinized more than men. Everything is harder for a woman in every kind of aspect and that’s why we try to empower women with our music, our image and everything we stand for."
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old singer previously admitted she finds it "harder" dating someone in the music industry.
She said: "I think there’s a better understanding if they’re in the same industry. I feel like they get it a bit more. But it’s harder for you both because you have to make time."
And the blonde beauty split from Zayn Malik last year but recently admitted she will "never get into the detail" about her split from the One Direction star.
She shared: "For a normal girl to go through something like that it’s hard. I think when the whole world is looking at it and talking about it, you feel a bit [affected by it].
"Obviously I didn’t say too much about it, I briefly mentioned it. I wasn’t going to not mention it … You’re in control at the end of the day and I briefly mentioned it, kind of said what happened but I would never get into detail because it is personal."
