Perez Hilton’s sister is "surprised" by his behaviour on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The American gossip blogger has infuriated his housemates with his antagonistic and attention-seeking antics, but Barbara Lavandeira insists her brother is very different in the outside world.
Speaking to Closer magazine, she said: "I’m surprised by the amount of arguments Perez has got into in the house. He’s very opinionated but not typically argumentative. He’s not this mean and vile individual a few housemates keep saying he is.
"Yes he can talk loudly and passionately at times, but Perez loves having fun and making people laugh – this is why he makes up songs and dances around. I was surprised that he stripped to his undies several times."
Barbara believes one of the reasons why Perez – real name Mario Lavandeira Jr. – has been acting so out of character is because he is missing his son Mario, who turns two next week.
She said: "The biggest factor affecting Perez’s behaviour is that this is the longest he’s been away from his son – he’ll have missed Mario so much. Perez is a very hands-on dad. From feeding him to bath time, story time and then putting him to bed – Perez is there for it all."
And Barbara also thinks her brother will be finding it hard being cut off from technology.
She said: "For the first time in over 10 years, he’s disconnected from his phone, laptop and the internet – three things he’s never been without for more than 24 hours."
