Perez Hilton receives death threats

‘Celebrity Big Brother’ bosses have increased security around the house after Perez Hilton received death threats.

The gossip blogger – who caused controversy earlier this week after he was seen harassing and trying to lick fellow contestant Katie Hopkins – has been the subject of abuse on social media since the scenes were aired on the Channel 5 show, with one user even calling for him to be "shot by a sniper on exit".

According to the Daily Star newspaper, series bosses are taking the threats seriously and have stepped up security around the Borehamwood, Hertfordshire premises.

One social media user tweeted: "Watched tonight’s show & want Perez Hilton to die! Shot by a sniper on exit would be ideal."

Another wrote: "Is it wrong to want Perez Hilton to die choking on his own tongue?"

While one angry viewer commented: "Actually want to stab Perez Hilton in every hole in his body f*****g annoying p**ck (sic)."

Broadcasting watchdog Ofcom has been bombarded with messages from angry fans disgusted with Perez’s behaviour.

The total number of complaints made to the regulatory body about the controversial star amount to more than those received for Jeremy Jackson and Ken Morley – who were both removed from the house for "unacceptable" behaviour – and Alexander O’Neal, who was given a formal warning for using homophobic language, put together.

Perez – whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira – previously confessed he "doesn’t give a s**t" about the British public but believes they are "keeping [him] in [the house] for a reason".

He said: "I want to get the f*** out, but they are obviously keeping me in for a reason.

"If they like me, then great, but I’m not doing anything to make them like me – I’m just being me."

After faking a walk-out and being put up in a secret room before returning to the main house earlier this week, viewers have now voted for him to be up for eternal eviction.
