Pearl Jam’s former drummer makes Hall of Fame plea

Pearl Jam’s former drummer has hit out at the group after he was left off the band’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2017 nomination profile.
David Abbruzzese played with the ‘Better Man’ hitmakers from 1991 to 1994 until he was reportedly fired for disagreements with other band members, and has now called on them to "do the right thing".
He wrote on his Facebook page: "The members of Pearl jam have got to know what’s the right thing to do.
"They can’t justify ignoring my contributions. Like me or not. (sic)"
In another post, he wrote: "If there is still a part of that band that remembers how hard we worked, how much blood and how much sweat… They will do the right thing. (sic)"
The rules have changed for year’s nominations in that only certain individual members of each band will be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
For Eddie Vedder’s group, that means their current drummer Matt Cameron and first stickman Dave Krusen are listed, despite them having five drummers in the past including David.
During his time with the band, Pearl Jam released their second and third studio albums, ‘Vs.’ and ‘Vitalogy’.
As well as David, their former drummers Matt Chamberlin, who David replaced, and Jack Irons were not included in the Hall of Fame nominations profile either.
Other stars who were nominated include Tupac Shakur, Janet Jackson, Depeche Mode, Electric Light Orchestra and Jane’s Addiction.
Pearl Jam were eligible for a nod as the rules state an artist’s first single must have been released 25 years before they are chosen.
