Peaky Blinders will return for two more series

‘Peaky Blinders’ is set to return for two more series.
The writer for the BBC Two epic crime drama, Steven Knight, is "thrilled" to be given the go ahead to create installments four and five, which will each feature six episodes each, of the popular hit and is eager to delve into the lives of the Shelby family in the upcoming drops.
Speaking to Deadline Online, Steven said: "I am genuinely thrilled at the response to the third series of the show. The prospect of writing series four and five is truly exciting.
"This is a real passion project for me and I look forward to telling more stories of the Shelby family."
The gripping programme is currently running the third season, which follows the Birmingham-based gang during the aftermath of the first World War, will see Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy) get a secret visit from a private organisation on his wedding day.
However, the Irish actor has revealed playing the gangster role has been a struggle, although he is excited for his character’s future on the series.
He explained: "[Tommy Shelby] is one of the most intense, challenging characters I’ve had the opportunity to play. I’m particularly grateful that Steven’s original, dynamic writing and the long form series allow me to explore Tommy in depth. I very much look forward to Tommy’s evolution over the next two chapters."
Meanwhile the show, which stars ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ heartthrob Tom Hardy, Helen McRory, Paul Anderson and Sophie Rundel, is set to become a global phenomena as it hits Netflix on May 31 following its TV debut in 2013.
