Paul Nicholls receives a hamper of presents from medical staff at Thai hospital

Paul Nicholls was given a hamper of presents from medical staff at a Thai hospital.
The 38-year-old actor broke his leg after he plunged from a waterfall into a rock pool at the Khun Si Falls on the island of Koh Samui, Thailand, earlier this month, and whilst the former ‘EastEnders’ star is recovering in hospital the team of nurses are making sure he is being well looked after, which has seen them give their patient a wicker basket filled with various products, the Sun Online has reported.
The dark-haired hunk – who portrayed Joe Wicks in the soap – is recovering in the medical centre, and is reportedly in good spirits following the accident, which left him semi-conscious, caused him to suffer from hypothermia, a broken leg and a fracture to his kneecap that became infected as he laid in the water for 72 hours.
Once the British hunk was discovered lying in the shallow pool, he was taken to a hospital two hours away, only to be transferred to a different centre where he was told the operation to mend his limb would cost £90,000 to treat.
However, the British Embassy have insisted Paul needs to be flown back home to the UK to undergo the necessary surgery.
A source separately said: "He needs surgery. But it’s going to cost £90,000 for him to have it in Thailand. The British Embassy want to fly him back here. They need to fly him to the mainland first to a proper hospital and then decide whether to bring him back to the UK or do the surgery there."
It is not known how Paul fell but some local sources claimed he may have been attempting to take a selfie.
