Patsy Kensit is only proud of "a handful" of her TV and film roles.
The 46-year-old actress has starred in ‘Holby City’ and ‘Emmerdale’ as well as movies such as ‘Lethal Weapon 2’ but feels embarrassed by a lot of the productions in which she has appeared, leading her to become more picky as she has got older.
She admitted: "I used to take the wrong movie roles because I came from nothing and economically it was good for me. But when you do that, you sell yourself to the devil. I can think of only a handful of films and TV roles that I’m proud of. Now I’m selective about what I do."
However, the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant now feels much more positive about her self-worth after what she describes as "a tough couple of years," during which she split from husband DJ Jeremy Healy, and underwent a hysterectomy after cancerous cysts were found on her ovaries.
She said: "I’ve been through a tough couple of years and felt as if I’d been on a treadmill for decades.
"But now that I’ve regained my health and self-esteem and reclaimed the power over my own life, I’m where I should be. I’m strong and fearless and feel better physically than I did at 20.
"One lesson I’ve learnt since reaching my 40s is not to care what people think of me any more – and to give myself permission to draw a line under my past."
