Alex Pettyfer is a "hopeless romantic".
The 'Endless Love' star - who famously has 'Thank You' tattooed above his crotch - claims he is one of the last chivalrous men left in the modern world.
He said: "I'm a hopeless romantic, I say very loudly and proudly. I get a lot of stick for it. We live in a world where it's so accessible to date now, which is great. I don't judge that. We have so many ways of meeting people.
"I like to meet someone and have that chivalry, to take them out on a date and actually be a gentleman. I think that's becoming rarer and rarer.
"I don't know if we would go so far to say that we would punch someone in the face, but we would definitely stand up for our ladies."
Despite being a great date, the hunky British star - who played a trainee stripper in 'Magic Mike' - finds it hard to make the first move.
He added: "I was 18 years of age and I was at a party ... This tall brunette walked up to me and said, 'Excuse me, are you Alex? I really thought you were good in your movie, and I wanted to come up and say hi.'
"I just couldn't speak! I'm so terrible when it comes to talking to women. I'm the worst. I don't know what to say. I come off very, very geeky."

Evan Peters found it "pretty funny" working in a sex shop for 'Adult World'.
The 27-year-old actor - who met his fiancée, Emma Roberts, when she co-starred in the movie - enjoyed making fun of director Scott Coffey when on set posing as a salesperson of X rated goods.
He told the New York Daily News newspaper: "It was a little awkward, it was pretty funny working around sex toys. The bunny tail was my favourite
"I think the funniest thing was ragging on Scott Coffey, the director, just joking around with him and making fun of what he may use in his bedroom."
However, Evan will put his dirty jokes aside tomorrow (14.02.14) when he treats Emma to a romantic dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day.
He added: "We are going to see a movie get some dinner. We like it to keep it pretty casual on Valentine's Day. It's just nice to go see a romantic movie, and I'll get her flowers and jewellery, a little something."
Evan wasn't dating Emma when they started making 'Adult World' - in which her character ends up working alongside him in the sex shop - and the attraction between them made it hard to film certain scenes.
He added: "During shooting we both really liked each other so it was a little difficult to work."
Both Emma and Evan now star in TV series 'American Horror Story' together.

Jay Z has bought Beyonce a promise bracelet for Valentine's Day.
The 'Tom Ford' rapper splashed out $2,390 on the jewellery by designer Tacori on the advice of his wife's stylist, Ty Hunter, and was so excited he couldn't wait until tomorrow (14.02.14) to give it to her.
A source told People.com: "[Hunter] got the bracelet and took it with him to give to Jay Z.
"He said Jay was waiting for Valentine's Day to gift her along with a few other presents, but ... Beyonce is always too eager and you can't hold any secret from her, so he decided to give it to her earlier."
The bracelet is made of intertwining silver and gold which "represents two unique individuals" according to the Tacori website, which adds: "The Promise bracelet must be locked and unlocked with a Tacori Key, which symbolises the Promise that is made.
"Once the bracelet is fastened, only the key holder can unlock the promise. The connection chain links both parts of the bracelet and symbolises that the bracelet is always connected."
Jay - who has two-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, with Beyonce - has previously bought many lavish gifts for his wife, including a platinum covered mobile phone worth $24,000 and her own private island in Florida, worth $20 million.

Kim Kardashian has been helping Ciara shop for baby items.
The reality TV star - who has seven-month-old daughter, North, with rapper Kanye West - was seen helping the mother-to-be choose items for her new arrival at Bel Bambini in Hollywood yesterday (12.02.14).
A source told website Hollywoodlife.com: "Kim is a regular here and she was showing Ciara around, helping her pick out a few items in anticipation of her baby's arrival. They looked at a few different cribs and bedding designs and also some feeding apparatuses that we carry. They were both upbeat, smiling and sharing the joys of being pregnant. It was a nice moment for the girls and we adore them."
Ciara and her fiancé, rapper and producer Future, are expecting their first baby together this spring, and she was full of excitement about shopping for the new arrival.
She captioned a picture of her on Instagram: "Me Before Going 2 Do Some Baby Prep Stuff With My Friend Kimmie. #ExcitingTimes.. Still Feels Surreal That This Is Actually Happening. Xo. Mommy (sic)."
As well as planning for her baby, the 'Goodies' singer is getting ready for her wedding later in the year and considering whether to wear a design by Peter Dundas, Emilio Pucci or Riccardo Tisci when she walks down the aisle, as well overseeing all the details.
She has previously said: "I still want it to be a fun process, but I want the dress to be perfect, I want the cake to be perfect, I want the food to be perfect."

Elizabeth Olsen loves her 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' secrecy cloak.
The 24-year-old star has joined the hugely anticipated superhero sequel as Scarlet Witch and is pleased the "hood and robe" of her costume help cover up her figure.
She told Total Film magazine: "We've done some costume stuff, yeah.
"My favourite piece is my secrecy cloak that prevents anyone from seeing what I'm wearing. There's a hood, and a robe - it protects the image."
The actress revealed director Joss Whedon didn't want her to wear the typical outfits which are depicted in Marvel comics, which is where the superhero team originates from, and thinks they can only look good on athletes or models who have lean figures.
Olsen continued: "I don't think Joss ever would have hired me, honestly, if he wanted me to wear those [comic book] outfits. I am not a professional athlete and nor am I a model. Wearing those costumes wouldn't be fun for anyone who wasn't those things."
The brunette beauty says Whedon has a "different" idea of how to portray his screen characters by comparison to the comics, and Olsen insists his depiction is "respectful".
The starlet added: "He already had a different idea. It respects and involves the comic-book character but it's different, more rooted. It's for someone today... If someone walked around wearing what she wore in the comics, people would stop and say, 'What the hell ... she thinks she's a superhero!'"

Jeremy Piven admires Tom Hardy's "balls".
The 'Mr Selfridge' star admits that while he has never seen the 'The Dark Knight Rises' actor's manhood, he was inspired by his "fearless" approach to acting when they starred together in 'Black Hawk Down'.
Jeremy told the latest issue of Fault Magazine: "I like Tom Hardy's balls. I mean not literally, I've never seen Tom Hardy's balls, just for the record. We worked together in 'Black Hawk Down' and he's a gamer, he's always up for it, he's fearless and he's really fun to watch as well."
The 48-year-old actor also named the actors who have been inspirations throughout his career.
Jeremy mused: "The first person to come to mind would be Javier Bardem. He never lets you down. He's a complete and utter inspiration.
"Mark Rylance - I was lucky enough to see him on stage in 'Twelfth Night' and I hope to see him in 'Richard III' in New York. He's completely improvisational, totally alive on stage doing Shakespeare."
Meanwhile, Jeremy revealed he would love to star in a Shakespeare story alongside 'Luther' actor Idris Elba, and is keen to collaborate with him for future projects.
He gushed: "Getting back to Shakespeare, I'd love to mix it up with Idris Elba. I'd love to work with Idris really in anything."

Colin Farrell was "terrified" when he first had sex sober.
The 37-year-old actor had a very "gentle" experience with a woman after giving up drugs and alcohol eight years ago but found it nerve-wracking because it was so new to him.
He said: "I made love to a woman about two and half years after I got clean, and it was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. It was in the afternoon. The windows and the curtains were open. It was lovely, and to be crass, it wasn't f**king. She was very gentle. But it was terrifying.

Britain's Countess of Wessex visited St. Thomas Hospital yesterday (12.02.14).
The 49-year-old royal - who is married to Queen Elizabeth's youngest son Prince Edward - stopped by the DEBRA clinic, which treats patients with a rare condition that causes their skin to break and blister at the slightest touch, at the hospital in Westminster, London.
During the visit, Sophie - who is a patron of DEBRA - met patients and staff in the Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) unit, before being given a tour of the National EB Laboratory, which is the only lab in the UK that can diagnose all forms of the condition.
Henry George, 20, who was diagnosed with the condition when he was just a few days old, gave The Countess a bouquet of flowers upon her arrival.
He said: "It was great to meet The Countess, and brilliant that she is supporting DEBRA so they can continue their vital work.
"I am extremely grateful to the specialist EB nurses and the rest of the EB medical team for enabling me to live as normal a life as possible. Because of their expertise, they are helping me to achieve my goals, get on with life and look positively to the future."
Dr Jemma Mellerio, consultant dermatologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, said: "It's been an honour to have Her Royal Highness visiting our clinic today. We hope we've given her a real insight into the pioneering work we are doing to help our patients.

Sir Cliff Richard and Sir Tom Jones are to support Morrissey on his US tour.
The 54-year-old singer has announced he will perform two dates at two huge arenas in Los Angeles and Brooklyn this year, and will be supported by the veteran performers.
The former Smiths frontman will take to the stage with Sir Tom and Missouri singer Kristeen Young on 10 May at Los Angeles Sports Arena, before performing with Sir Cliff and Kristeen on 21 June at New York's Barclays Center.
The Welsh singer, 73, took to his official Facebook page earlier today to confirm the news.
He wrote: I will be Morrissey Official's special guest at his show at the LA Sports Arena on May 10th. We hope to see you there! (sic)".
These are the first confirmed shows for Morrissey after he abandoned a series of tours last year due to lack of funding and a bout of sickness.
Meanwhile, Morrissey, who has been without a label since 2009, recently signed a deal with Universal Music's American-based Harvest Records to release his tenth studio album.
The album is due to be released in the second half of 2014.
