Ricky Wilson hired for The Voice by email

Ricky Wilson was asked to do 'The Voice' by email.
The Kaiser Chiefs rocker, who joined the BBC singing competition along with Kylie Minogue this year, has revealed that producers first approached him to be a coach by sending him a speculative email, however, he was apprehensive to sign up at first.
He said: "I got an email, and then I was like, oh no way, I don't want to do that.
"I kind of thought, maybe they would want me as a contestant?
"I took it to the band and said, 'What do you think about this, guys?', thinking everyone was gonna say no, and they did. And I was like, yeah, it's pointless, we don't need this. And then you sleep on it and you start thinking about how proud you are of your new record."
The 'I Predict A Riot' hitmaker admits one of the reasons he joined 'The Voice' is to help plug the Kaiser Chiefs' new album, which is due for release in March.
Talking to Christian O'Connell on his Absolute Radio breakfast show, Ricky revealed: "It's on TV, in the corner of everyone's room, and at the risk of sounding vulgar, I kind of want as many people to hear this record as possible because I'm really proud of it.
"I can say to you that I did it because I wanted to give back to the talent of the future, but I've also got a record coming out!"

Helen Flanagan: Scott and I happier

Helen Flanagan says she and Scott Sinclair are "much happier" this Valentine's Day.
The former 'Coronation Street' actress, who is dating footballer Scott Sinclair, can't wait to celebrate the romantic holiday today (14.02.14) and thinks her relationship is much stronger after she and Scott took a break from one another last year amid allegations of him cheating on her.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I'm quite lucky because he's really romantic. Last Valentine's Day we went for dinner in London, that was really lovely, and had a nice weekend together.
"But a year later, we're so much happier now, after the break-up and getting back together."
While Helen, 23, is expecting a big romantic gesture from Scott, 24, she doesn't expect a ring on her finger.
She added: "I don't think he would propose on Valentine's Day, though."
The couple have recently moved in together and juggling their busy routines is proving challenging.
Helen explained: "I get up early at six-o'clock in the morning, do a work out, set my day and do my emails. I'm a morning person basically. He gets up for training at 8:30am, so he's always like, 'Babe, the alarm!' I'm like, 'Oh, shut up and get up.'
"I'm messier than he is ... I probably have more stuff than him, girly stuff and make-up everywhere. He's actual quite tidy, like he's got OCD. I tend to get on his nerves more."

Colin Farrell is an ‘extraordinary horseman’

Colin Farrell is an "extraordinary horseman".
The 37-year-old actor's equestrian skills made is easier to film scenes for 'A New York Winter's Tale' and although director Akiva Goldsman didn't realise this during casting he admits he was "very fortunate" since it decreased the possibility of having riding accidents on set.
Talking at the film's premiere at London's Kensington Odeon, director Goldsman told BANG Showbiz: "Colin and Russell [Crowe who plays Pearly Soames] are extraordinary horsemen, which turned out to be very fortunate because I didn't know that when I wrote the script.
"It's the kind of things like marching the horses backwards and forwards that, actually if you don't know how to ride a horse very well, you could end up with all kinds of broken things."
The supernatural drama features Athansor, a mysterious white horse who becomes Farrell's alter-ego's guardian angel.
The Hollywood hunk features alongside former 'Downton Abbey' actress Jessica Brown Findlay who felt "lucky" to have such a "fun" co-star.

Other stars at the premiere included lead characters Farrell and Findlay, former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star Amy Childs and famed filmmaker J. J. Abrams.

Snooki felt like a champion after 27-hour labour

Snooki felt like a "champ" after going through labour.
The 'Snooki & JWoww' star was in agony for 27 hours while she was giving birth to her son Lorenzo, now aged 15 months, and has now offered her words of advice to anxious mothers-to-be, insisting they will be able to tolerate the pain and come out wanting more children.
Speaking in a promotional video for her new book 'Baby Bumps' on her official blog, she explained: "Since I gave birth, a lot of people have asked me questions about pregnancy and labour. I can tell that they are scared s**tless about what is going to happen to them and let me tell you I am the biggest baby when it comes to pain and I was a f***ing champ during labour - 27 hours ...
"I got the epidural, that did help, but being in labour for 27 hours was a b***h and it was scary. I feel your nerves and I feel how scared you are but your bravery will overcome that and you'll be a champ and you'll push out that baby and you're going to say, 'That was a piece of cake', and you're going to want to do it all over again."
Snooki, real name Nicole Polizzi - who is engaged to Jionni LaValle - promised her fans that they would survive labour and feel likes "superwomen".
The pint-sized 'Jersey Shore' star added: "When the time comes to step up to that plate and push that baby out, you're going to be ready and do a fantastic job. I just want to get across that's its normal and OK to be scared, you have no idea what to expect. Trust me you are stronger than you think.
"Let's be honest, all of us who give birth are superwomen, we are straight up strong ass bosses and no one can f**k with us."

Sandra Bullock immortalised as wax model

Sandra Bullock has been immortalised as a wax model.
The 49-year-old actress' likeness has been made into a figure and her doppelganger will be unveiled at Hollywood's Madame Tussauds museum in two weeks time.
Madame Tussauds state the figure is "red carpet ready" as she can be seen wearing a flattering red dress, a beautiful clutch bag in her hand, black high-heels on her feet and her straight long locks combed over to one side.
A likeness of Oscar winner Sandra is already on display at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas.
The statue of Sandra joins the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Aniston, Johnny Depp and Will Smith, as well as over 100 other famous faces.
Madame Tussauds Hollywood is planning to launch 12 new figures in as many months during 2014, the first time it has done this.
Meanwhile, Madame Tussauds New York recently had to remove the waxwork of teen pop star Justin Bieber after the model began to wear away from so many fans touching it over the years.
Madame Tussauds general manager, Bret Pidgeon, said previously: "This is disappointing, but hopefully we can welcome a new grown-up Justin back to the attraction in the near future."

Carrie Underwood gets dirty helping animals

Carrie Underwood is prepared to get dirty when she works at an animal shelter.
The 'Blown Away' singer may be a multi-million selling artist, but is still no stranger to hard physical labour as she volunteers at the Happy Paws shelter when she visits her parents in Oklahoma.
She revealed: "I went to my parents a few weeks ago and spent two days cleaning out some pretty messy pens at an animal shelter, Happy Paws. It was long and gruelling, but the people that run the shelter are wonderful."
Former 'American Idol' winner Carrie is also into keeping fit, and celebrates reaching her daily goals by performing her own little dance.
She added to People magazine: "I recently bought myself and all of my friends a Fitbit personal tracker. When you reach your goal, it buzzes. I set my goals pretty high, so I deserved that happy dance."
However, the 30-year-old singer - who is married to Nashville Predators ice hockey player Mike Fisher - isn't so keen on dancing in public.
She said: "The last time I blushed was when I was dancing and acting silly in the box at one of my husband's hockey games. I didn't realise I was being filmed until I saw the clips a day later."

Elizabeth Olsen has never liked comic books

Elizabeth Olsen has never been a fan of comic books.
The 24-year-old actress plays Scarlet Witch in the upcoming superhero movie 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' and, although she admits she's never really been one to read a comics, she insists she had heard of her alter-ego before she was handed the role.
She told Total Film magazine: "I'm not much of a comic book person. I like comic book movies but my brother [Trent, a screenwriter] is the comic book guy. If I'm having a meeting, I ask my brother to tell me about it. But of course I'd seen 'The Avengers'! I've seen all the Marvel movies. I love those movies.
"Marvel keep the fantastical qualities but create something as realistic as they can make for this world. There's something genuinely broken. Everyone has their Achilles' heel."
The screen star admits she doesn't know how she managed to secure herself the role in the Marvel movie, but doesn't think the director, Joss Whedon, hired her to wear racy outfits like the ones in the comic.
She explained: "I don't know how I got the job, but now I have it, and we're creating it. It's been a really fun process. We're being aware of the comic books but also doing our own thing."
She added: "We've done some costume stuff. My favourite piece is my secrecy cloak that prevents anyone from seeing what I'm wearing. There's a hood and a robe. It protects the image.
"I don't think Joss ever would have hired me, honestly, if he wanted me to wear those (racy) outfits. I am not a professional athlete, nor am I a model. Wearing those costumes wouldn't be fun for anyone who wasn't those things. He already had a different idea."
