Kings of Leon have a ‘brotherly code’

Kings of Leon have a "brotherly code" for their fights.
The US rockers - comprising brothers Caleb, Jared and Nathan Followill and their cousin Matthew - have come to blows many times in the past but admit they always stick to strict rules so their skirmishes never get too serious.
Caleb said: "A lot of people think we're these big fighters but in the past a lot of the time we were fighting like p***ies. We weren't really duking it out.
"I don't think we've ever had a good enough fight to judge [who is the best]. Any time there's ever been a fight there's a lot of backhand slapping, spitting..."
Nathan added: "A lot of back punching. As brothers there's the rule; nothing above the neck, so we've stuck to a brotherly code of good kidney shots, smacks on the back of the head."
While they tread carefully around one another, the 'Sex on Fire' hitmakers think they could easily win in a fight against other bands.
Matthew told Q magazine: "You could name any band and I'd say we were going to win because we're confident in our fighting."
Caleb also admitted he finds it "hard" to swear in songs, particularly because he knows his parents don't approve.
Asked what their parents think of their lyrics, he said: "It took them a while. My mum loved 'Taper Jean Girl' for years, then one day she walked in and smacked me. 'Are you saying the C word?' 'Yeah, I've been saying it at every show for years.'
"Now I find it kinda hard. I can say stuff that's kind of dirty, but I try to make it more hidden than I did back then. I don't really like to hear someone who is forcing profanity. If it's cool, that's one thing, but if you hear someone saying a curse word out of the blue it's just trying."

Johnny Marr doesn’t want to make clever music

Johnny Marr doesn't want to make "clever" music with "depth".
The former Smiths guitarist launched his solo career last year and was adamant he wanted to fill his album 'The Messenger' with songs that made people feel "alive" and were full of energy.
He told NME magazine: "Quite often when musicians have been around for a long time, there's this expectation they should be making quite 'clever' mid-tempo music with loads of 'depth'.
"I'm not interested in depth. I want really loud drums. Flash riffs! Good slogans that make you feel alive. Get that done in three-and-a-half minutes, then do another one. Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang. That's me.
"Sitting around, strumming acoustics? Nah, it's not my thing. No thanks."
Johnny - who recently broke his hand after falling when out running - has almost finished work on his next album, which he says has a "London feel".
He said: "I think I've got all the songs written now. It's cool. It's got a real London feel, this album. I'm recording it down there at a studio near the river - I want to capture this loud, busy, very modern place."

Carmen Electra is dating clothing mogul

Carmen Electra is dating clothing mogul Tal Cooperman.
The 41-year-old actress, who enjoyed a brief romance with Simon Cowell last year, admits she is "really happy" with her 30-year-old new boyfriend after being introduced by mutual friends three months ago.
The former 'Baywatch' beauty told E! News: "We are taking it slow and really trying to get to know each other, but so far we are really happy! He's gorgeous and a lot of fun."
A source close to the couple also revealed: "They met about three months ago when a mutual friend introduced them. They hit it off right away.
"The age difference doesn't bother either of them, it doesn't matter. Tal's a mature guy."
A second insider said: "Tal is happy as hell."
Carmen, who was previously married to Dennis Rodman and Dave Navarro, split from her rocker fiancé Rob Patterson in October 2012.
The model recently revealed that she feels "sexier" than ever.
She said: "I feel more comfortable now. Less nervous. I feel like I'm in a really good place in my life and just being in that space makes you feel sexier.
"The secret to being sexy starts on the inside first. I think it's all about embracing yourself. I love being on shoots because you can get into the fantasy of it all. I love getting into new outfits too, stuff I wouldn't normally wear."

Oprah Winfrey is embarking on a US tour.
The talk show host has announced she will visit arenas in eight cities in September to host a two-day conference, titled 'The Life You Want,' focusing on empowerment, resilience and authenticity.
The 60-year-old star told The Hollywood Reporter: "It's about living the life you want, because a great percentage of the population is living a life that their mother wanted, that their husband wanted, that they thought or heard they wanted."
The media mogul, who revealed the tour has been top of her "bucket list" for some time, will share her personal story and interact with her fans on the first day of the conference.
On day two, she will lead group activities and introduce different speakers, including 'Eat Pray Love' author Elizabeth Gilbert, pastor Rob Bell, OWN star Iyanla Vanzant and spiritual guru Deepak Chopra.
The tour will visit Atlanta, Georgia, Auburn Hills, Michigan, Houston, Texas, Miami, Florida, Newark, New Jersey, Seattle, Washington, San Jose, California, and Washington D.C.

Emma Watson was ’emotionally exhausted’

Emma Watson needed time to put herself "back together" after filming 'Noah.'
The British actress admits the new biblical epic had a huge impact on the way she views the world and made her want to give back more.
The 23-year-old star told E! News: "You see the movie and you go, 'Wow, we are entrusted with this beautiful world,' and it kind of makes you want to make more of an effort and give back instead of take."
She added: "I was so physically and emotionally exhausted by just the process of making the film.
"I just didn't leave my apartment for a few weeks, walked around in my pyjamas for a few days in a row. I just needed some time to sort of put myself back together a bit."
Emma, who shot to fame as Hermione Granger in the 'Harry Potter' movies, has won praise from fashion critics for making bolder choices on the red carpet recently and really enjoys trying out different looks.
She said: "I've just really embraced that side of my job, I guess, because you have to do these appearances and so you might as well make it fun."

Macaulay Culkin wants to wed before Mila Kunis

Macaulay Culkin wants to get married before Mila Kunis.
The 'Home Alone' star is reportedly eager to tie the knot with his US soap star girlfriend Jordan Lane Price before his pregnant ex-girlfriend marries Ashton Kutcher to prove he is finally over the 'Black Swan' star.
A source told the National Enquirer: "Macaulay is convinced that Jordan's the one for him. They are crazy about each other."
Jordan has been touring with the former child star's cover band The Pizza Underground in recent months.
The source added: "The band may be a joke, but Macaulay's love for Jordan most definitely is not. They could be formally engaged within weeks, and married by summer. Mila has her eye on a summer wedding as well, so it will be interesting to see who gets to the altar first."
Mila, 29, split from Macaulay, 33, in 2011 after eight years together and the brunette beauty was single until she started dating her former 'That 70's Show' co-star Ashton, 36, in April 2012.
The actress is reportedly thinking about tying the knot with her fiancé in a registry office in Los Angeles as soon as possible so she can focus on her pregnancy, but she previously insisted being married wasn't important to her.
She said: "Not to say that I don't believe in it, but it's just not something that's important to me.
"But I will have children. I'm too selfish to have them now, but when I do, I don't feel like I need to be married."

Chris Martin bought bachelor pad with special trust

Chris Martin created a special trust to quietly purchase his new $14 million bachelor pad.
The British rocker, who announced his split from Gwyneth Paltrow on Tuesday (25.03.14) after 10 years of marriage, splashed out on a huge beach house in Malibu, California earlier this month, not far from the actress' home in Brentwood, so they can easily "co-parent" their daughter Apple, nine, and son Moses, seven.
A property insider told the MailOnline: "For this property a new trust was created, called Magical Kingdom Land (trust), which signalled something definitely changed between the pair.
"Everything else they have owned together, including homes in London and New York, was bought under Orchard House LLC. It appears that the trust used was different to the firm that Gwyneth is known to be associated with."
Another source added: "Gwyneth is in love with her fancy place in Brentwood. The beach house purchase was the first clear sign that they were working out the final details of announcing their split."
An insider told RadarOnline.com that Chris still plans to spend most of his time in London as he "doesn't have any family or friends in Los Angeles."
Meanwhile, friends close Chris and Gwyneth told the New York Daily News' Confidenti@l that they weren't surprised by their announcement as "they haven't been a couple for a number of years."
One insider said: "This news should surprise no one. They haven't been a couple for a number of years and have been pretending for the sake of the kids and each other's careers."

John Mayer wants revenge?

Charlie Sheen thinks John Mayer is suing his best friend to seek "revenge."
The singer-songwriter filed a lawsuit against Robert 'Bob' Maron, accusing the jeweller of selling him a counterfeit Rolex watch after he splashed out $5 million on several timepieces, but 'Anger Management' star Charlie believes John is really angry because Bob convinced Rolling Stone magazine to put Charlie on the cover instead of the 'Who You Love' hitmaker in June 2012.
The 48-year-old star told gossip website TMZ.com: "It's really sensitive and I really shouldn't talk about it, but to hell with it. This douchebag tried to bump my Rolling Stone cover and s***w Bob in the process, and went behind both of our backs. This is not about watches, this is about that cover.
"I had the Rolling Stone cover and then something happened and they gave it to him, and he'd already had it.
"I watched my dad shoot his (cover) as a 16 year old with Annie Leibovitz in my driveway and I said, 'that's what I want to do someday,' that's the only press piece I ever wanted in 30 years. So I finally got it and I was so excited, and then I got the call that I got bumped, and Bob went after him (John) and we got it back. John pulled some things behind the scenes that were really uncool; really super 100% un-dude and I've got no time for that. This isn't about watches, this is about vanity and all the other s**t."

Joan Rivers criticises Lena Dunham

Joan Rivers has blasted Lena Dunham for embracing her curves.
The 'Fashion Police' host accused the 'Girls' creator and star of "sending a message out to people that it's OK to stay fat and get diabetes" by refusing to conform to Hollywood's super skinny stereotype.
Speaking to Howard Stern on his Sirius FM radio show, the 80-year-old comedienne advised the 27-year-old Golden Globe-winning star: "Don't let them laugh at you physically. I'm saying if you look the way you look Lena, that's fine and you're funny, but don't say it's OK that other girls look like this, tell them to try and look better."
Joan also begged the actress to let her style her after she questioned Lena's choice of clothing in relation to her body type, asking: "How could she wear dresses above the knee?"
The controversial star, who caused outrage when she criticised Spanish actress Elsa Pataky's figure after she attended the Oscars while heavily pregnant with her newborn twin boys earlier this month, dismissed Howard when he came to Lena's defence, saying: "I think the thing we love about her is that she doesn't give a s***. She did a whole ('Girls') episode in a bikini. It was the funniest f**king thing I ever saw."
She replied: "Oh, every woman gives a s***."
Earlier this year, Lena admitted that she had been called "fat and hideous" but had finally reach a point where she "radicalised" her relationship with her "own body in order to accept it."

Gwyneth Paltrow is taking time off

Gwyneth Paltrow is taking a break from Hollywood.
The 41-year-old actress announced her split from Chris Martin on Tuesday (25.03.14), after 10 years of marriage, and plans to take the rest of the year off to be with their daughter Apple, nine, and son Moses, seven.
The GOOP.com founder told E! News: "I just finished a movie in January that I was doing at the end of last year in London with Johnny Depp, and then I had two weeks here, and then I did a couple of episodes for 'Glee' for the 100th episode.
"So I have to go back to mommy...I have a rule about one movie a year, so I can't shoot anything for a while, but I'm developing some material and working on the site and raising kids."
The 'Iron Man 3' star also admitted that she finds it more difficult to be away from her children as they get older.
She said: "It's much harder for me. I feel like I set it up in a way that makes it difficult because...for me, like if I miss a school run, they are like, 'Where were you?' I don't like to be the lead so I don't [have] to work every day, you know, I have little things that I like and obviously I want it to be good and challenging and interesting and be with good people and that kind of thing."
She added: "I think it's different when you have an office job, because it's routine and, you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning and then you come home in the evening. When you're shooting a movie, they're like, 'We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,' and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it's not like being on set."
The former couple are currently renting a villa on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas with their children and local sources spotted them having dinner together just hours after announcing their split.
An insider said: "They are enjoying their getaway together. They are out on the beach with the kids having fun. They are having a family vacation."

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are ‘much happier’

Robin Thicke claims he and Paula Patton are "much happier."
The 'Blurred Lines' hitmaker was very open about his desire to win back the 'Baggage Claim' actress, who split from him last month after eight years of marriage, but he now plans to focus on being a "great friend" to her and writing songs for his next album.
The 37-year-old star told PEOPLE.com in New York City on Tuesday (25.03.14): "We're both doing well. We're both very happy right now - much happier. Everything about this moment in my life - this amazing year I just had and what I'm going through personally - has actually ignited some of the best writing I've done in a long time.
"Whatever everybody's wondering about, they're going to hear it all in the album."
Robin, who has son Julian, three, with Paula, also said the actress was very touched when he paid an emotional tribute to her at one of his concerts recently.
He said: "My music is very honest about what I'm going through and my songs are about my life. And my relationship with her was 21 years of my life, so I just thought it was important to me to let people know how much she means to me."
He added: "She loved it. She thought it was the sweetest thing and very romantic, and I've always been a romantic guy that way."
Asked about his plans for the rest of the year, he said: "Just to be a great father and hopefully write some great music, put on some great shows and be a great friend to Paula."
A source previously revealed that Paula was having second thoughts about filing for divorce, but is yet to feel convinced by Robin's efforts to prove he can be a good husband.
Though the couple insisted their split was mutual when they announced their separation, it was subsequently reported that Paula told her spouse she wanted a divorce and Robin did everything he could to get her to change her mind.
