Zac Efron saved his bodyguard’s life

Zac Efron's bodyguard claims the actor saved his life.
The 26-year-old star was hit in the face after getting into a "full-blown" bust-up in a "very bad area" of downtown Los Angeles shortly after midnight on Sunday (23.03.14), but his bodyguard insists the 'High School Musical' star only stepped into the brawl to defend him.
The security man, who asked to remain anonymous, told gossip website TMZ.com that he and Zac were "cruising" around LA on their way to a restaurant in Little Tokyo when they ran out of gas and were "attacked" by three men.
He claims the transients went after him with "a spear" and that Zac, who went to rehab twice last year for cocaine addiction, got out of the car and began swinging a vodka bottle to fend off the attack and saved his life.
The hunky star previously told police officers they had run out of gas and were sitting in their car for a tow truck when he threw a bottle out of the window and it smashed on the pavement near their alleged attackers.
He said the three men confronted them because they believed the bottle had been deliberately thrown at them and two of them then attacked the bodyguard, and according to the star, he got hit on the mouth when he got out of the car to help.
Zac said: "It was the hardest I've ever been hit in my life."
But his bodyguard, who reportedly has a criminal record for drugs and violence, insists the actor didn't throw the bottle at all and merely used it to defend them.
Police sources said no one was arrested because they viewed it as "mutual combat."
A spokesperson for the actor - who broke his jaw last November following a fall at home - has not yet commented on the incident.

Victoria Beckham gives Spice Girls ‘her blessing’

Victoria Beckham has given the Spice Girls "her blessing" to reunite without her.
The British fashion designer's former bandmate Mel C says the group, which also includes Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Mel B, may consider getting back together as a four-piece in the near future.
She told the MailOnline website: "We've talked about it. Victoria doesn't want to, which we completely understand. We are so proud of her and her incredible foray into fashion, it's incredible what she's achieved as a designer."
She added: "The four of us could consider it maybe. We have Victoria's blessing to do that."
Victoria previously insisted that she would never get back together with the girls after they reunited for a sell-out 2008 world tour, 'The Return of the Spice Girls' and then again to perform at 2012 Olympics in London.
Meanwhile, Mel is preparing to release her upcoming single, 'Cool As You,' and hopes to continue performing either alone or with the Spice Girls for the rest of her life.
She said: "My number one love is performing and I want to be doing this forever. My current priorities are my spring/summer tour with Jules Holland and working on my own album."
The brunette beauty is a single-mother to daughter Scarlett, five, and admitted it can be "exhausting."
She explained: "Scarlett is going through the phase of waking up a lot in the night but she is so wonderful and great company."

Patrick Stewart: ‘Hiding from bailiffs was a game’

Patrick Stewart used to hide from bailiffs as a child.
The 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' actor claims keeping out of sight of debt collectors became a big "game" when he was a child because he was too young to realise his mother was suffering serious financial difficulties at the time.
Patrick told the April/May issue of AARP Magazine: "Some of my earliest memories are of when a bill collector came to the door. My mother and I would hide behind the sofa and pretend we weren't in. I thought that was a great game."
The 73-year-old actor admits he still makes very sensible purchases even though his former cast mates wanted him to splurge his first big paycheque on more expensive items.
Patrick explained: "During the second 'Star Trek' season, I bought a new car, excitedly drove it onto the lot, and all the other cast members asked, 'What did you get?' I said, 'A Honda!' They all threw up their arms and rolled their eyes."
Despite growing up in poverty, Patrick was able to put a positive spin on his past struggles.
He mused: "I realised I could use those feelings and not only would nothing bad happen, but quite good things might happen."

Joan Rivers brands Lena Dunham ‘fat’

Joan Rivers has called Lena Dunham "fat".
The 'Fashion Police' host was less than complimentary about the 'Girls' star's sense of style, claiming the actress shouldn't wear short skirts because it sends out a message that it's "OK" to be overweight.
Speaking on shock jock Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show, Joan ranted: "Lena Dunham, who I think is again terrific, how can she wear dresses above the knee?"
Howard replied: "Well, I think the thing we love about her is that she doesn't give a s**t ... She did a whole [Girls] episode in a bikini. It was the funniest f**king thing I ever saw."
His co-anchor added: "And it think that's what she's going for: Just because I don't look like a bikini girl, I want a bikini."
However, Joan bit back, saying: "But that's wrong. You're sending a message out to people saying, 'It's OK! Stay fat! Get diabetes. Everybody die. Lose your fingers.' "
Realising that the radio presenters weren't going to agree with her controversial opinions, the 80-year-old legend insisted that Lena could at least make more of an effort.
She scathingly said: "If you look the way you look, Lena, and that's fine and you're funny, don't say it's OK that other girls can look like this ... Try to look better."
Joan also couldn't resist taking one last dig about the 27-year-old comedienne's recent VOGUE cover, which has been accused of being excessively Photoshopped.
She quipped: "She was on VOGUE's cover looking gorgeous. You didn't know it was her."
Nevertheless, the E! News presenter insisted she was a fan of the talented and "funny" star.
Lena's constant nudity on the HBO show has been in the headlines over the course of its third series, with some questioning the point of her near-naked scenes.

Harry Styles offers loan

Harry Styles agreed to lend £5,000 to a singer he barely knew.
The One Direction singer - who is worth an estimated £15 million - was the victim of a radio prank by his friend Nick Grimshaw and The 1975 star Matt Healy, who he has met just a few times in the past.
As part of the Call or Delete game on Nick's BBC Radio One show, Matt reluctantly first tried to call Harry's bandmate Niall Horan, but when he didn't get through he rang the curly-haired hunk instead.
After Harry answered and asked if Matt was OK, he replied: "Sorry I've never rung you before now, I was just wondering, this is going to sound ridiculous, I need £5,000 and I'm in Chalk Farm, I know it sounds ridiculous but it is a serious situation, I'm in a phone booth and a bloke is pointing to a picture of Mark Owen, it's actually quite threatening.
"Do you reckon you could get Niall to give me a ring and see if he can come sort me some cash?"
Despite the bizarre story, the 'Little Things' singer was quick to reassure Matt, saying: "OK, well we're in Bristol. But let me go and I'll get my assistant to call you and she'll sort it out."
After hanging up the call, the 'Chocolate' singer admitted he was worried about what Harry would think of him.
He said: "He must think that I am so mental, I have never spoken to him in my life, I think I had a panic attack."

Jennifer Aniston: Transcendental meditation keeps me looking good

Jennifer Aniston says transcendental meditation keeps her looking young.
The 'Cake' actress is renowned for her radiant skin and beautiful hair, but says the thing that's helped her keep her looks best is the mantra meditation technique pioneered by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the 50s.
When asked what the number one thing which has kept her looking so amazing is, Jennifer replied: "I'd say a little over a year ago I started doing TM [transcendental meditation] and that's really changed everything. Starting your day off with that and ending with that is pretty powerful. Twenty minutes, you just notice the difference. When I get lazy and don't get it in, I can feel a difference. I do it first thing when I wake up."
As well as her daily meditation sessions, Jennifer, 45, also sticks to a strict beauty regime, and she won't break her routine for anyone.
She added to the new issue of People magazine: "I bring everything [on vacation]. The best I can do of course. You have to. Especially with travelling, you have to keep your skin hydrated and moisturised. The regime is pretty simple too. You can't overcomplicate."
Jennifer has also got her fiancé Justin Theroux involved in her beauty regime and has revealed the pair have "Sunday night facials" together.
The 'Horrible Bosses 2' star explained: "We've had a Sunday night facial together. Many times. Its very romantic. He's good to his skin. He doesn't do the dermaroller, but he would if I showed it to him. I have to protect my product!"

Kurt Cobain inspires new comic book

Kurt Cobain has inspired a new comic book.
The late Nirvana frontman will have his life documented in a new animated biography - which documents the rock singer's rise to fame and battle with drugs in his last few years.
The book, entitled 'Tribute:Kurt Cobain', will be released on April 9, to coincide with the anniversary of Kurt's death on April 4, 1994, after he committed suicide.
In a statement, Darren G. Davis of Bluewater Publishing said: "Not only is this a great way to understand the importance of his contribution to music, but it is a great tool for kids to read about him in a different medium. Our biography comic books are now taught in schools and libraries for students and reluctant readers."
The 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' hitmaker's biography follows a string of celebrity biopics by Bluewater Publishing, with notable books in their tribute series looking at the lives of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Keith Richards.
Darren added: "The tribute line of comic books tells the stories of people that have made a significant difference in the world while they were with us.
"It is a way for us to honour these people who have made a difference in the world."
It's thought Freddy Mercury and Monty Python comic books are also being lined up for future release.

Kelly Rowland: No hard feelings over label split

Kelly Rowland is pleased she split from her old record label and insists there are "no hard feelings".
The 33-year-old singer has confirmed she wasn't "dropped" from Universal Republic and instead decided to cut ties with the label after the release of her last solo record 'Talk A Good Game' is now recording new material with Motown Records.
She told HuffPost Live: "It's been wonderful so far, a fresh new spin on everything, with writers, producers, just being inspired, just creativity.
"I feel like right now, I just needed something new and I've earned the right to make my own choices and make my own decisions. I wish them well, they wish me well. No hard feelings, I just needed a fresh, new start."
The 'Kisses Down Low' hitmaker has revealed her latest music includes new instruments such as horns and flutes and she was inspired by some of her favourite female singers, including Diana Ross.
Kelly said: "I've been inspired by the queens that have gone before us, incredibly strong women who aren't afraid to take risks and just be innovative.
"There are different offers on the table. I just want to see what it feels like. I'm just in the studio on my own and just having a really good time just being creatively free."

Keith Lemon’s Through the Keyhole set for second series

Keith Lemon's 'Through the Keyhole' has been recommissioned for a second series.
The flamboyant comic - played by Leigh Francis - will return for eight episodes of the hilarious gameshow, which allows him to snoop in other celebrities' homes.
The programme features an all-star panel, who attempt to guess which celebrity resides in the pad after being given a virtual tour by clumsy Keith, who has a tendency to break ornaments as he's exploring different posh properties.
Keith said: "[I] Can't wait to start through the keyhole again.
"I can't think of what's suitable to describe my excitement but it is the same excitement I have when I'm participating in extreme sports or making sweet, sweet love to a beautiful woman."
Jonathan Ross, Emma Bunton, Terry Wogan and Cilla Black are all being lined up for the panel, who are guaranteed to be in a fit of laughter after watching the flame-haired star wander around different rooms.
The ITV show was a big hit with the audience last year after it drew in more than 6.1 million viewers.
Director of Comedy and Entertainment, Elaine Bedell, said: "'Through the Keyhole' was a brilliant comedy entertainment hit for us last autumn, and we're really looking forward to Keith poking around more celebrity pads, plus more in-studio fun, with series two."

Brian McFadden lands dating show

Brian McFadden is to host his own dating show.
The former Westlife singer - who is married to model Vogue Williams - has teamed up with Channel 5 to present the match-matching programme 'Stand by Your Man'.
The show, which will see him share his hosting duties with Laura Jackson, will be based around four male contestants as they attempt to win a date with one woman from the studio audience.
Brian said: "Dating should be a fun and exciting experience and I'm looking forward to creating some compatible matches - fingers crossed!"
Laura added: "Dating's already a game, so 'Stand by Your Man' isn't a step that far from most of our weekend lives anyway! I look forward to encouraging the girls to put the guys through their paces."
The hosts will mingle between the contestants and the audience throughout the programme in a bid to find out more about them.
The men will also take part in a number of challenges in the hope of impressing their favourite lady.
At the end of the tasks, the women must choose their winning man by standing in his line.
The hunk with the most votes will then get to choose his favourite lady to take on a romantic date.
'Stand by Your Man' is set to air on Channel 5 this summer.

Coronation Street’s Alison King doesn’t want to work with baby

'Coronation Street' star Alison King doesn't want her character Carla Barlow to go through with her pregnancy.
The 41-year-old actress - who has five-year-old daughter Daisy Mae - would prefer her alter-ego to have an abortion because she doesn't want to film with a baby.
When asked whether she wants Carla to go through with the pregnancy, Alison said: "Absolutely not. Alex Bain, 12, who plays Simon [Barlow] is enough to work with.
"Personally, for me as an actress, it is better if she doesn't have a baby. When you are carrying a baby around, it slows you down and scenes take longer. You are not really being yourself as you are concentrating on a little bundle. I do that at home, so I don't want to do it at work too."
However, the brunette beauty insists she wouldn't be too annoyed if the show bosses wanted Carla, who is expecting her first child with her husband Peter (Chris Gascoyne), to go through with her pregnancy.
Alison explained to the TV Times magazine: "If they decide to make Carla a mum, I will go with that and take it whichever way they want. I trust the writers, plus I have played a pregnant woman before and love stroking the bump. If it happens, it will remind me of being pregnant with my daughter Daisy, which I loved."
Meanwhile, all hell is set to break loose on the cobbles in coming months after Carla finds out that Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan), who has been having an affair with Peter, is also pregnant with the recovering alcoholic's baby.
Producers are remaining tight-lipped on the outcome but Michelle is set to leave the ITV soap in May after being brutally murdered by a fellow resident.
