Cressida Bonas not ready to wed

Britain's Prince Harry's girlfriend isn't ready to get married.
The 29-year-old prince and Cressida Bonas had sparked speculation they were set to wed after making a string of public appearances together, but the 25-year-old former dancer student wants to wait at least 12 months before getting engaged as she is enjoying her new job in theatre marketing and living with a friend.
A source said: "Cressida is very busy and has lots to do. Marriage is not something she's considering yet.
"She has just started a new job where she's being paid the usual salary for someone of her age - i.e. peanuts - and she has found a flat to rent with her friend Daisy. She is doing all the things that people in their 20s should be doing.
"Who knows what might have changed by this time next year but that is how she wants it to be.
"She doesn't want to miss out on that chapter - she's not that kind of girl. That said, her mother is ecstatic and would love them to get engaged."
Cressida - who has been dating the prince for two years - is also said to think she is too young to marry yet.
The source added to the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "When Cressida's good chum Missy Percy got engaged to one of Harry's best friends, Tom Van Straubenzee, she was really happy for them because they had been together for several years.
"However, she noted that Missy was only 25 at the time and she thinks that's really young."

Princess Anne backs GM crops

Britain's Princess Anne thinks genetically-modified (GM) crops are important.
The princess believes such foodstuffs help people to be "more efficient" in using land and will help stretch stocks to feed more people.
She told 'Countryfile': "It's a serious business looking after the countryside and it's a much more serious business feeding people.
"I think it [GM] has a role to play, to be honest. I think the claims are probably slightly greater than most of the deliverables actually are. They do add to our ability to perhaps be more efficient users of the land.
"That is good, because I think in the long term, when you've got the prospect of nine billion to feed, you are going to need some help in doing that and to do it well."
Anne's comments put her at odds with her brother Prince Charles, who has repeatedly warned about perceived dangers of GM crops, and has accused firms of conducting a "gigantic experiment" with nature and the whole of humanity which "has gone seriously wrong", saying it was "guaranteed to cause the biggest disaster environmentally of all time."
However, Anne admitted she "seldom" discusses the issue with her brother, agreeing differences of opinion are a normal part of family life.
She added:
"I do think there are some things which, even if you don't like the sound of it yourself, you know that it's got to a point where you're not going to stop it, because you can't.
"So, you really must focus on how you can get the best out of it so it works for humans and the globe in the long run."

William and Catherine welcomed to New Zealand

Britain's Prince William and Duchess Catherine received a traditional Maori welcome into New Zealand this morning (07.04.14).
The royal couple - who, along with their eight-month-old son Prince George, have embarked on a three-week tour of Australasia - were driven from Wellington Airport to Government house, where they pressed noses with Maori leaders Lewis Moeau and Hira Hape in a traditional hongi greeting, before being confronted by 35 semi-naked toa warriors.
Catherine - who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage - appeared startled when three of the warriors picked up spears and advanced on them while shouting war cries, before one of them placed a dart called a rake tapu at her husband's feet.
William picked up the rake tapu and maintained eye contact with the warrior, to prove he had come in peace.
The group them performed a haka powhiri welcome dance for the royal couple, who had left their infant son indoors because of the damp weather, and William then inspected a guard of honour and took a 21 gun salute.
The couple then chatted to children from local schools and many of them were in awe of the British royals.
One little girl said: "Kate is just so perfect - she is a proper princess. She said her hair was stringy because of the rain but it looked amazing to me.
"They said they were really excited to be in New Zealand and they were sorry they couldn't bring baby George outside but it was too rainy."

Michelle Heaton’s baby diagnosed with meningitis

Michelle Heaton's baby son was rushed to hospital on Sunday (06.04.14).
The Liberty X singer had the "worst" day of her life yesterday when her five-week-old son Aaron, who she has with her personal trainer husband Hugh Hanley, was diagnosed with viral meningitis.
Michelle posted on Twitter: "The last 24 hours has been the worst and scariest in my life.
"With everything I've been through mentally and physically, nothing and I mean nothing compares to that when your baby is sick.
"Our beautiful baby boy has been very looked after in hospital after being diagnosed with viral meningitis and reflux disease just to top it off."
The tiny tot appears to be on the mend, however, and his relieved parents are grateful for the emergency care provided by their local hospital.
She added: "He's fighting strong and taking the antibiotics well so far but at only five weeks old you can imagine our distress as parents.
"The hospital are amazing and he's well looked after and hopefully we will be able to take our little man home soon."
Michelle, who also has two-year-old daughter Faith, previously described Aaron as her "miracle" because she thought she couldn't have any more children after being diagnosed with a mutated BRCA2 gene and decided to have a double mastectomy to alleviate her high risk of cancer.

William Shatner and stars pay tribute to Mickey Rooney

William Shatner and Carol Channing are among the stars who have paid tribute to Hollywood actor Mickey Rooney who died yesterday (06.04.14).
The veteran actor, whose career spanned over nine decades, passed away aged 93 due to natural causes following a lengthy period of ill health, according to TMZ.
Mickey's former co-star Carol said in a statement: "I loved working with Mickey on 'Sugar Babies'. He was very professional, his stories were priceless and I love them all ... each and every one. We laughed all the time (sic)."
Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin took to Twitter after the news broke and wrote: "A lovely man, talented actor & friend, Mickey Rooney has passed at 93. He is with his dear friend Judy Garland putting on shows in heaven (sic)."
Star Trek actor William remembered him by tweeting: "My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mickey Rooney. One of the greats!"
Anna Marie 'Patty' Duke also wrote: "Rip Mickey Rooney. Having spent time in Mickey presence, I am grateful. He led a long and wild ride, bring joy to millions. He will b missed (sic)."
Mickey was still working when he died and had been filming a new movie with former child star Margaret O'Brien.
She said: "Mickey was the only one at the studio that was ever allowed to call me Maggie. He was undoubtedly the most talented actor that ever lived. There was nothing he couldn't do. Singing, dancing, performing ... all with great expertise. Mickey made it look so easy. I was currently doing a film with him, 'The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' - I simply can't believe it. He seemed fine through the filming and was as great as ever."

Madonna proud of daughter

Madonna is "so proud" of her daughter.
The 'Hung Up' hitmaker shared a photograph of 17-year-old Lourdes - her child with former boyfriend Carlos Leon - on the final night of her school production 'A Flea in her Ear' and said she had enjoyed watching the show at Manhattan's LaGuardia Performing Arts school.
She tweeted: "Lola as a French Maid in "A Flea in her Ear"! Last show tonight at La Guardia! I'm so proud! (sic)"
The production comes weeks after the teenager played Betty Rizzo in another school play, 'Grease!'.
Her mother had sat proudly in the audience with her younger children, David and Mercy, both eight, and reports said Lourdes was very impressive.
One source said: "[She was] really good. She is a great singer, dancer and actress and seemed completely comfortable on the stage.
"She also seemed like she was having a lot of fun with the part."
And Lourdes is already looking into what to do next as she and her mother were spotted visiting the singer's former college, the University of Michigan, a few months ago.
Madonna has previously declared a wish for her daughter to study there, saying: "I want my daughter to go there. I keep telling her, Ann Arbor is an awesome place."

Lindsay Lohan admits relapse

Lindsay Lohan has admitted to drinking again.
The 'Mean Girls' actress - who has been to rehab six times - was confronted by her life coach AJ Johnson on last night's (06.04.14) episode of 'Lindsay' after her mother Dina's claimed they had shared wine, and she then found a bottle in the troubled star's apartment.
However, Lindsay, 27, was furious to be confronted on camera and initially denied relapsing before later admitting to "screwing up".
The 'Machete' star - who fled to Los Angeles for a week and failed to contact AJ as planned - said: "I rushed into a relationship .. and I jumped right into a relationship where we weren't on the same page.
"I wasn't considering the fact that the person I was seeing does drink and yeah. ... I had some wine.
"It's OK to admit it. ... It's really scary. ... It took me a bit to realise, but then I thought, why am I holding this in?
"Yeah, f**k it, I screwed up and that's OK."
After missing a meeting with Columbia films' Devon Franklin which AJ had set up, the life coach was livid.
She said: "I was expecting her to call, I didn't hear from her all week. I'm calling Lindsay a friend right now but I feel like there is no consideration."
And when the actress refused to speak to AJ when she turned up to her apartment the next day, she decided it was time to "leave before things got ugly" as she "cannot help" Lindsay unless she is "open to receiving".
Speaking after her departure, Lindsay said she felt "disrespected" over the confrontation.
She said:"I felt like she disrespected me by asking things on camera that were a bit personal. When we had the moments alone to discuss it."
