Chris Martin created a special trust to quietly purchase his new $14 million bachelor pad.
The British rocker, who announced his split from Gwyneth Paltrow on Tuesday (25.03.14) after 10 years of marriage, splashed out on a huge beach house in Malibu, California earlier this month, not far from the actress' home in Brentwood, so they can easily "co-parent" their daughter Apple, nine, and son Moses, seven.
A property insider told the MailOnline: "For this property a new trust was created, called Magical Kingdom Land (trust), which signalled something definitely changed between the pair.
"Everything else they have owned together, including homes in London and New York, was bought under Orchard House LLC. It appears that the trust used was different to the firm that Gwyneth is known to be associated with."
Another source added: "Gwyneth is in love with her fancy place in Brentwood. The beach house purchase was the first clear sign that they were working out the final details of announcing their split."
An insider told RadarOnline.com that Chris still plans to spend most of his time in London as he "doesn't have any family or friends in Los Angeles."
Meanwhile, friends close Chris and Gwyneth told the New York Daily News' Confidenti@l that they weren't surprised by their announcement as "they haven't been a couple for a number of years."
One insider said: "This news should surprise no one. They haven't been a couple for a number of years and have been pretending for the sake of the kids and each other's careers."

Charlie Sheen thinks John Mayer is suing his best friend to seek "revenge."
The singer-songwriter filed a lawsuit against Robert 'Bob' Maron, accusing the jeweller of selling him a counterfeit Rolex watch after he splashed out $5 million on several timepieces, but 'Anger Management' star Charlie believes John is really angry because Bob convinced Rolling Stone magazine to put Charlie on the cover instead of the 'Who You Love' hitmaker in June 2012.
The 48-year-old star told gossip website TMZ.com: "It's really sensitive and I really shouldn't talk about it, but to hell with it. This douchebag tried to bump my Rolling Stone cover and s***w Bob in the process, and went behind both of our backs. This is not about watches, this is about that cover.
"I had the Rolling Stone cover and then something happened and they gave it to him, and he'd already had it.
"I watched my dad shoot his (cover) as a 16 year old with Annie Leibovitz in my driveway and I said, 'that's what I want to do someday,' that's the only press piece I ever wanted in 30 years. So I finally got it and I was so excited, and then I got the call that I got bumped, and Bob went after him (John) and we got it back. John pulled some things behind the scenes that were really uncool; really super 100% un-dude and I've got no time for that. This isn't about watches, this is about vanity and all the other s**t."

Joan Rivers has blasted Lena Dunham for embracing her curves.
The 'Fashion Police' host accused the 'Girls' creator and star of "sending a message out to people that it's OK to stay fat and get diabetes" by refusing to conform to Hollywood's super skinny stereotype.
Speaking to Howard Stern on his Sirius FM radio show, the 80-year-old comedienne advised the 27-year-old Golden Globe-winning star: "Don't let them laugh at you physically. I'm saying if you look the way you look Lena, that's fine and you're funny, but don't say it's OK that other girls look like this, tell them to try and look better."
Joan also begged the actress to let her style her after she questioned Lena's choice of clothing in relation to her body type, asking: "How could she wear dresses above the knee?"
The controversial star, who caused outrage when she criticised Spanish actress Elsa Pataky's figure after she attended the Oscars while heavily pregnant with her newborn twin boys earlier this month, dismissed Howard when he came to Lena's defence, saying: "I think the thing we love about her is that she doesn't give a s***. She did a whole ('Girls') episode in a bikini. It was the funniest f**king thing I ever saw."
She replied: "Oh, every woman gives a s***."
Earlier this year, Lena admitted that she had been called "fat and hideous" but had finally reach a point where she "radicalised" her relationship with her "own body in order to accept it."

Gwyneth Paltrow is taking a break from Hollywood.
The 41-year-old actress announced her split from Chris Martin on Tuesday (25.03.14), after 10 years of marriage, and plans to take the rest of the year off to be with their daughter Apple, nine, and son Moses, seven.
The GOOP.com founder told E! News: "I just finished a movie in January that I was doing at the end of last year in London with Johnny Depp, and then I had two weeks here, and then I did a couple of episodes for 'Glee' for the 100th episode.
"So I have to go back to mommy...I have a rule about one movie a year, so I can't shoot anything for a while, but I'm developing some material and working on the site and raising kids."
The 'Iron Man 3' star also admitted that she finds it more difficult to be away from her children as they get older.
She said: "It's much harder for me. I feel like I set it up in a way that makes it difficult because...for me, like if I miss a school run, they are like, 'Where were you?' I don't like to be the lead so I don't [have] to work every day, you know, I have little things that I like and obviously I want it to be good and challenging and interesting and be with good people and that kind of thing."
She added: "I think it's different when you have an office job, because it's routine and, you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning and then you come home in the evening. When you're shooting a movie, they're like, 'We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,' and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it's not like being on set."
The former couple are currently renting a villa on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas with their children and local sources spotted them having dinner together just hours after announcing their split.
An insider said: "They are enjoying their getaway together. They are out on the beach with the kids having fun. They are having a family vacation."

Robin Thicke claims he and Paula Patton are "much happier."
The 'Blurred Lines' hitmaker was very open about his desire to win back the 'Baggage Claim' actress, who split from him last month after eight years of marriage, but he now plans to focus on being a "great friend" to her and writing songs for his next album.
The 37-year-old star told PEOPLE.com in New York City on Tuesday (25.03.14): "We're both doing well. We're both very happy right now - much happier. Everything about this moment in my life - this amazing year I just had and what I'm going through personally - has actually ignited some of the best writing I've done in a long time.
"Whatever everybody's wondering about, they're going to hear it all in the album."
Robin, who has son Julian, three, with Paula, also said the actress was very touched when he paid an emotional tribute to her at one of his concerts recently.
He said: "My music is very honest about what I'm going through and my songs are about my life. And my relationship with her was 21 years of my life, so I just thought it was important to me to let people know how much she means to me."
He added: "She loved it. She thought it was the sweetest thing and very romantic, and I've always been a romantic guy that way."
Asked about his plans for the rest of the year, he said: "Just to be a great father and hopefully write some great music, put on some great shows and be a great friend to Paula."
A source previously revealed that Paula was having second thoughts about filing for divorce, but is yet to feel convinced by Robin's efforts to prove he can be a good husband.
Though the couple insisted their split was mutual when they announced their separation, it was subsequently reported that Paula told her spouse she wanted a divorce and Robin did everything he could to get her to change her mind.

Khloe Kardashian will spend the summer in The Hamptons with her older sister.
The reality TV star, who filed for divorce from Lamar Odom in December after four years of marriage, is set to move to the exclusive enclave in Long Island, New York with Kourtney Kardashian to film their new series, 'Kourtney & Khloe Take The Hamptons' for E!
The famous sisters will open a Dash pop-up boutique in the luxurious coastal spot and will also work on relocating their SoHo-based store in New York City to a new area during the series, according to the network.
Kourtney's long-time boyfriend Scott Disick and their children, Mason, four, and Penelope, 19 months, will join them.
Both siblings are clearly eager to start afresh this summer after a difficult few months, during which both of Scott's parents died suddenly.
Khloe, 29, previously starred on the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' spinoff 'Khloe & Lamar' with her estranged husband, and also filmed 'Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami' with her sister, 34, in the past.
The brunette beauty recently bought Justin Bieber's former mansion in Calabasas, California, for $7.2 million, and a source suggested that there could still be a chance she will take Lamar, who allegedly battled a drug problem and cheated on her multiple times last year, back.
She recently confessed: "It's definitely not anything I'm through. I'm going through it, but I'm not through it."

Sienna Miller says motherhood has given her "incredible perspective."
The 32-year-old actress realised that "life is really short" after welcoming her 20-month-old daughter Marlow, with her fiancée Tom Sturridge, into the world in July 2012, and becoming a parent has inspired her to approach her career differently.
The 'Foxcatcher' star told the April issue of Nylon magazine: "Life is really short. A lot of what we do is a reaction to what people think you're supposed to do. 'Have a kid by 30. Move in, but live together for at least this amount of time.' All of those rules I want to rebel against."
She added: "In the past I was always drawn to the roles, and was often really exploring characters, but then the final result was not what it was supposed to be. My modus operandi after I had the baby was to work with great people, no matter the capacity, even if I had a smaller part."
The blonde beauty previously credited her daughter for helping her to enjoy a more settled lifestyle and become calmer.
She said: "My twenties were a bit crazy. I spent those years working and being repeatedly persecuted by the media. Nowadays, I can be the woman I truly am, more calm, and freer too. I turned 30 and I suddenly had much less energy!"

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin had couples therapy before separating.
The couple - who are currently holidaying in the Bahamas with children Apple, nine, and Moses, seven - announced yesterday (25.03.14) they were splitting, and friends say they brought in outside help to try and repair the cracks in their 11-year marriage.
A source said: "They really tried to make the marriage work, but sometimes it's best to not be married. They know that about each other now.
"They have worked really hard for a year or more, going to therapy, trying to make it work - and she's been more honest than ever about how hard marriage is - but they just decided it was best to not be together anymore as a couple."
Despite the news, the 'Iron Man' star was seen out publicly with the Coldplay frontman several times earlier this year and they even sang together at a recent charity event in aid of their children's Los Angeles school, performing 'Cruisin'', her song with Huey Lewis in 2000 movie 'Duets'.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: "She called the event chair to say she'd like to sing with Chris."
Insiders insist the pair have always put their children first and present a united front for the sake of their family.
One source told People magazine: "They made an effort to be there for their kids at their activities, and though they had killer schedules they were always around together in L.A. and a united front at parties in their Brentwood neighborhood.
"They weren't a traditional couple per se, but they were a couple and tried to do anything any family would do, from carpool to a lemonade stand.
"They are still a family. They will always be a family. Nothing will ever change that."

The brunette beauty - who was catapulted to the spotlight on 'The Real Housewives of New York' - is looking forward to "taking a break" after the first and only season of her talk show 'Bethenny' ends its run in May.
Bethenny added: "I loved every day, I loved connecting to women.
"It's just been an amazing experience. I have my own Skinnygirl business, I have the cocktails and a lot of different products that are launching this year. I really do need a break."

Shakira's son is obsessed with soccer.
The 'She Wolf' singer's 18-month-old son Milan already shows some interest in music but she admits he is much more keen on joining his soccer star father Gerard Pique in playing sport.
When asked if Milan will pursue a career in music, Shakira revealed the tot is more likely to become a sportsman, as she explained: "Well it's too early to tell, he loves drumming, but he's after the soccer ball all day long. That's what he likes, kicking the ball. I'm terrible [at soccer]."
Meanwhile, Shakira insists she isn't sure whether she is a good singer, because she only decided to pursue a career in music after her mother entered her into a competition when she was just 10 years old even though she wasn't so keen on the idea.
Speaking to host Jimmy Fallon on the 'Tonight Show', she recalled: "I don't know if I'm good or not, I started out singing in contests when I was 10 years old. My mum saw it in the local newspaper and she said 'There is this children's singing contest, do you want to participate?' and I said 'Let me think about it, I will answer you tomorrow.' And that's how I made my first executive decision."
