Marcus Mumford to pen unheard Bob Dylan tracks

Marcus Mumford is using unheard Bob Dylan lyrics for a new project.
The Mumford and Sons frontman has penned new words to unfinished tracks written by the legendary folk singer in the late sixties during his 'The Basement Tapes' period, for a new album entitled 'Lost On The River: The New Basement Tapes'.
Producer T Bone Burnett, who also worked with Elvis Costello, 59, for the project, told the LA Times newspaper: "These are not B-level Dylan lyrics. They're lyrics he just never got around to finishing."
Dylan's 1975 album 'The Basement Tapes' was mostly recorded in the basement of the The Band's Big Pink House - a home the Canadian-American rock group shared in New York - after they toured with the singer in 1966, however this time the material is being recorded at Hollywood's Capitol Studios.
T Bone added: "This is the exact opposite of 'The Basement Tapes'. We're in the best recording studio in the world, and we're not in a basement."
The producer has already recorded almost 50 tracks for the project which also includes Carolina Chocolate Drops singer Rhiannon Giddens and Dawes guitarist Taylor Goldsmith.
The whole process will be documented in a film directed by Sam Jones which will be aired on American television network Showtime.

Lily Allen: I want to be like Kayne West

Lily Allen would like to be "anything like" Kanye West.
The 'Hard Out Here' singer, who named her latest album 'Sheezus', a play on the rapper's 'Yeezus' record, wants to be just like the star and is trying to break the American music market.
Lily told New York radio station Z100: "I'm totally for Kanye, he's a G, he's cool, he's Yeezus, I'd like to be anything like him. (sic)"
Asked what she would say to new American fans who are just discovering her music, she quipped: "[I'd say] pleazus buy Sheezus (sic)"
The 28-year-old singer is currently visiting the US to promote her new music and has been to the likes of New York and Las Vegas and has posted photographs of her trip on Instagram, showing her relaxing in the sun and even taking a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon.
Meanwhile, the 'Air Balloon' hitmaker previously admitted she is "terrified" she might receive a call from Kanye after paying homage to his successful record.
She said: "I'm terrified ... I thought he'd think it was a diss, but it's totally not a diss, I love Kanye I think he's brilliant.
"He speaks his mind, whether what he's saying is ridiculous or not, he honestly does believe it and I think there's a lot to be said for that in this day and age."

William and Catherine miss Prince George’s first crawl?

Britain's Prince William and Duchess Catherine reportedly missed Prince George's first crawl.
The royal couple, who recently enjoyed a romantic getaway to the Maldives, are thought to have missed out on a major milestone moment in their eight-month-old tot's formative years as he crawled for the first time while they were away.
Prince George was being looked after by his grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton at Catherine's family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, while his parents got some much-needed rest at the five-star Cheval Blanc Randheli resort earlier this month.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: "William and Kate are excited about the many milestones ahead. George already has a tiny tooth coming in. And his cheeks are chubbier than ever!"
The couple decided to enjoy some romantic time together in the Maldives ahead of a long three-week royal visit to Australia and New Zealand next month.
The royals will be joined by their son, who'll be looked after by his new Spanish nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.
The 43-year-old childminder was recently employed by William, 31, and Catherine, 32, having trained at London's Norland College.

Simon Cowell: 1D enticed Cheryl Cole back to X Factor

Simon Cowell says One Direction's success enticed Cheryl Cole back to 'The X Factor'.
The singer has decided to rejoin the panel of the TV talent show because she's keen to find talent to match those who appeared on the last series she appeared on in 2010, according to the reality TV mogul.
Speaking at the opening night of new 'X Factor' musical 'I Can't Sing' at the London Palladium yesterday (26.03.14), he said: "You know why she came back ... we were having a conversation at my house and we were talking about the talent we had that final year in 2010 - One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson, Cher Lloyd, Matt Cardle - we just had great people, and we just suddenly thought we want to do it all over again.
"And that was the incentive to do it because there are still great people in this country left."
Simon - who became a father for the first time in February to son Eric, with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman - also gushed about his baby boy.
He said: "It's the best thing in the world. [He's like his] dad."
Other guests who also attended the first night of 'I Can't Sing' - which is based on 'The X Factor' format and features Nigel Harman as Simon - included Amanda Holden , Louis Walsh, Union J and Carol Vorderman.
Speaking about the musical, which was written by comedian Harry Hill, Simon added: "Harry's a very twisted individual. His vision of me and our world is quite weird, but it's very, very funny."

Simon Cowell axes X Factor Boot Camp

Simon Cowell is axing the Boot Camp stage on 'The X Factor'.
The 54-year-old mogul - who is returning to the singing competition's judging panel with Cheryl Cole - is changing the show's format in order to lure back viewers and has opted to axe Boot Camp in favour of the controversial six-chair challenge which was introduced last year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Simon thinks the boot camp process can drag on a bit and isn't very exciting.
"The plan is to axe it and just focus more on the six-chair challenge. Simon loves it -- the drama and controversy is right up his street."
The six-chair challenge sees the judges' reward contestants with a seat - and a place in Judges' Houses - right after their performance if they are impressive enough. However, no act is safe as another singer can replace seated contestants as the callbacks continue.
The six contestants lucky enough to have seats by the end of the day go through to Judges' Houses to fight it out for a place in the Live Shows.
It's thought Simon is a fan of the drama of the challenge and thinks it makes better TV than the "tedious" Boot Camp stage, which saw around 200 contestants whittled down through various singing tasks.
The six-chair challenge came under fire for being cruel by some viewers last year, but Simon has previously championed the format change.
He said in October: "This is some of the most exciting TV we've made on one of these shows. It is dramatic, it is controversial, but we all love that. People went nuts, half loving it and half hating it."

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow alerted school to split

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow told their children's school they were separating last week.
The couple - who have daughter Apple, nine, and son Moses, seven, together - wanted to let staff at the private Los Angeles establishment be aware of the situation as a "courtesy to prepare them for the added media attention that would come" once the news became public knowledge, 'Entertainment Tonight' Online reports.
It has been claimed that 'Fix You' singer Chris has been staying with bandmate Guy Berryman in London, and insiders say one of the problems between him and the actress - who used her Goop website to announce their separation on Tuesday (25.03.14) - was her insistence on Living in Los Angeles, when he wanted to be back in the UK.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "He hasn't been happy living in Los Angeles because Chris just isn't into the Hollywood scene. Since moving to LA, Chris has been away from the band, and he has essentially put his career on the back burner.
"At first, Chris was doing it for Gwyneth because of the sacrifices she made for him, especially since he would be on the road for months at time while the band was touring. However, Chris now recognises that Gwyneth doesn't need to be living in Los Angeles for her career."
The 37-year-old singer is now planning to commute "back and forth" between the UK and US to spend as much time as possible with his children, who will remain in Los Angeles with their 41-year-old mother.
The source added: "The plan is for Gwyneth to remain in California, with their children. Chris will absolutely be moving back to London, but will commute back and forth to see the kids."

L’Wren Scott’s sister blasts funeral

L'Wren Scott's sister says she "deserved more" than her funeral in Los Angeles.
Jan Shane has slammed out at the late fashion designer's grieving partner Sir Mick Jagger and accused him of "hijacking" her memorial, after he planned it to take place in Los Angeles, insisting her sibling - whose real name was Luann Bambrough - should have been laid to rest alongside their parents in their hometown of Ogden, Utah.
Jan said: "It's become a media circus, it's so not how Luann would have wanted it.
"She has been away from home for so long, this is her place, not in some strange cemetery in Los Angeles. It has no connection, but it's Mick and his kids that are making all the decisions.
"He hijacked this funeral. Yes, he was with her for 13 years, but family is family, that's what it boils down to.
"She's going to be alone there at this cemetery. I wish it had been handled differently. I hate to believe that it's become a showbiz, fake funeral - she deserves more. She's a human being, she made a life that was hers, not his. She deserves to be remembered for herself.
"She'll be buried and passed away as Mick's girlfriend, not Luann Bambrough or L'Wren Scott. It's so far blown out of proportion, she's a human being, she deserves more."
It has emerged that the Rolling Stones rocker - who had been in a relationship with L'Wren for 13 years until her suicide earlier this month - is the sole beneficiary of the designer's will but Jan has vowed to fight for the return of some personal items.
She told MailOnline website: "I would assume she had a Will, I'm not really sure. But I know after mum passed away, L'Wren took pictures away from the family home. They were my childhood, I want them back, I hate to think they're gone forever, it's our memories of growing up. The Jagger family doesn't need them, they're our memories from our childhood.
"She had things of mum's that have no use for anyone else, but there's some nieces and nephews that would want them. I would like it kept in the family, they don't need to be destroyed or given away."
L'Wren's brother Randall Bambrough was the only family member to attend the private funeral service at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Tuesday (03.25.14).

Selena Gomez ‘lost sight’ of self before rehab

Selena Gomez "lost sight" of who she was before she checked into rehab in January.
The 21-year-old singer secretly spent two weeks at Dawn at the Meadows treatment facility in Arizona, and she's admitted she listened too much to other people in the hope of fitting in.
During a heart-warming eight-minute speech at the We Day California event in Oakland yesterday (26.03.14), she said: "You all have pressure that you have to deal with every day - with school, with work, with friends, with parents, with family. They tell me what to wear, how to look, what I should say, how I should be.
"Until recently I had given into that pressure, I lost sight of who I was. I listened to opinions of people and I tried to change who I am because I thought others would accept me for it. And I realised I don't know how to be anything but myself."
The 'Come & Get It' hitmaker, who has been in an on/off relationship with Justin Bieber for three years, also encouraged the youngsters at the event to chase after their dreams.
She said: "I'm sure all of you have been told that you don't have what it takes and that you may not be good enough... when deep down, it's all you want to do, you want to be part of something great, you want to make something great.
"It crushes you when people try to tell you that you're not good enough."

Kim Kardashian and Kanye’s wedding list

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding guest list has been revealed.
The reality TV star and her rapper fiance, who will tie the knot in May, have invited US VOGUE editor Anna Wintour to the romantic ceremony in Paris, after featuring on the controversial front cover of the magazine this month.
According to The Sun newspaper, former chat show host Oprah Winfrey, TV host Ryan Seacrest - who produces 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' - actor Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, and close friends Beyonce and Jay Z will be attending the nuptials.
The wedding will be filmed for Kim's E! reality show 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians', although Beyonce reportedly doesn't want to feature on the programme.
The wedding will be Kanye's first and Kim's third marriage, after she tied the knot when she was 20 to music producer Damon Thomas for four years and later married basketball player Kris Humphries, in 2011, a union which lasted just 72 days.
Kim, 33, and 36-year-old Kanye - who have nine-month-old daughter North together - are also said to be licensing their wedding photos for sale and most of the guests will be asked to hand over their mobile phones and sign non-disclosure agreements before the big day.
A source said: "Guests will have to go through extensive security, even most of Kim and Kanye's celebrity friends.
"Mobile devices will be held at a secure location and if someone needs to use theirs during the wedding, accommodations will be made, but a long way away from the festivities. This is all designed to discourage guests from using their phones."

Nolan: Matthew McConaughey is ‘extraordinary’ in Interstellar

Matthew McConaughey is "extraordinary" in 'Interstellar'.
Director Christopher Nolan, who is notoriously secretive about his projects, has revealed he was desperate to hire the recent Oscar winner to star in his new sci-fi thriller - which co-stars Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Sir Michael Caine - after seeing him in critically acclaimed indie hit 'Mud'.
Nolan says McConaughey's performance in that film gave him an "inside track" regarding the actor's newfound success, including numerous accolades for his role in 'Dallas Buyers Club'.
The filmmaker told The Hollywood Reporter: "'Mud' showed me a side of Matthew's capabilities that I never knew was there. It was a transformative performance. From when I first saw it, I had an inside track on how great he could be.
"I needed someone who is very much an everyman, someone the audience could experience the story with. He's just a phenomenal, charismatic presence in the movie. His performance is shaping up to be extraordinary."
Nolan also praised his regular collaborator Caine, who played Alfred in the director's 'Dark Knight' trilogy.
He enthused: "He comes so prepared and he is just so good with such a minimal effort. I cast him in every film just as an example to everyone else.
"He's just a lovely guy to be around. He jokes that he's my lucky charm. It was a very good strategy on his part."
The British filmmaker also revealed his policy when it comes to making movies, revealing he puts all of his efforts into the production at hand as if it's his last ever film.
Nolan added: "I have always viewed every film as the last film I'm going to do. I've always done that because I want to put everything into it. I might get hit by a bus at the end of production."

Andrew Lancel would be ‘first there’ for The Bill return

Andrew Lancel admits he would be the "first there" if 'The Bill' ever returned.
The 43-year-old actor - who played Detective Inspector Neil Manson from 2003 until the show concluded in 2010 - would jump at reprising his role if the opportunity came up.
He told Digital Spy: "I did seven [years] on it. Would it come back? I'd be first there if it was the same team. It is still on everywhere, thank god. I think 'The Bill' is on every day somewhere in the world.
"Of course, I'm very honoured to be part of that. It's nice when you look back on stuff and I had a good run on telly."
The hunky star - who also did a stint on 'Coronation Street' when he was cast as nasty Frank Foster in 2010 - admits he would love to take on another soap role in the future.
He explained: "If the part's good, of course! I always keep reading rumours of what I'm doing next anyway! I've been very lucky with my work."
Meanwhile, Andrew will next be seen in an upcoming episode of the hospital drama 'Casualty'.

Coronation Street’s Tina McIntyre desperate for baby

'Coronation Street's Tina McIntyre is desperate for a baby.
The stunning barmaid - played by Michelle Keegan - will discover she's pregnant next week following a passionate affair with married man Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).
However, before she takes the tests, Tina, who was a surrogate mother for Gary Windass (Mikey North) and
Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston) last year, is praying the result will come back positive as she' hoping the recovering alcoholic will leave his wife Carla (Alison King) for her.
Michelle said: "She really wants the test to be positive. She hasn't got over the pain of giving her baby to Gary and Izzy and would love another child.
"Peter will have to leave Carla if Tina is pregnant. She knows he's messing her around and being pregnant could change everything. Tina wants to be with Peter and would love them to have a family together.
"I want the test to be negative, though. It's not the right path for her to go down."
Meanwhile, Michelle admits she's shocked by her alter-ego's recent behaviour.
She explained to the TV Times magazine: "I read the scripts and think, 'Stop!' The worst thing for me is that Tina and Carla are friends and I don't think she'd ever do that to her. Tina's personality has changed and I think it's because of everything that's happened to her."
Michelle will bow out of the soap in May when her character is murdered by a fellow Weatherfield resident.
