Robin Thicke’s dad: I let him speak through music

Robin Thicke's father Alan thinks the singer's heartbreak over his marriage will "speak through his music".
The 'Blurred Lines' hitmaker announced his separation from wife Paula Patton after nine years of marriage in February and his dad claims he has been penning songs about their break-up for his upcoming album.
Alan told Us Weekly: "From my perspective, I always let Robin speak through his music. He's in the middle of a great album right now. A lot of power in the album."
The 37-year-old star is working on the follow-up to his 'Blurred Lines' album, which conquered the charts last year, and he has also been collaborating with Jennifer Lopez on her new record.
Meanwhile, Alan also admitted he isn't sure whether Robin and Paula, who have three-year-old son Julian, will get back together or file for divorce.
He added: "We love them, they're great people. Whatever they decide to do, it will be the right thing."
It was recently claimed that the actor - who is married to third wife Tanya Callau - has been giving his son marriage advice and urging him not to make the same mistakes he did.

Prince George has his own surfboard

Britain's Prince George is to be given his own surfboard.
The specially-made board, which features a photograph of Manly Beach with the message 'Greetings from Manly', will be handed to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for their nine-month-old son during their visit to Sydney's iconic beach later today (18.04.14), according to the Daily Mirror newspaper.
Meanwhile, Duchess Catherine - known as Kate Middleton before she married William in 2011 - has revealed Prince George is "obsessed with wombats".
The 32-year-old royal made the comment after she was handed a book about the marsupials - native to Australia - during her and William's visit to the Royal Easter Show at Sydney's Olympic Park this morning.
The couple were handed numerous gifts for the young prince during their trip, but he did not accompany them on the visit to the annual show.
The royal couple were greeted by a large crowd of fans when they arrived at the show, which is one of the highlights of Australia's social calendar, before being treated to a display of sheep shearing.
After the show, the pair were taken to Bear's Cottage, a children's hospice, before watching a display of surf live-saving on Manly Beach.

Party Wright Around the World is axed by ITV2

'Party Wright Around the World' has been axed by ITV2.
Mark Wright's travel programme - which showed the hunky star organising global parties - has been given the chop after just one series due to poor ratings.
This will be the former 'The Only Way is Essex' star's fourth consecutive show to get dropped after the failure of his 'Hollywood Nights' series in 2012, 'Take Me Out's spin-off 'The Gossip, and his gameshow 'My Man Can', which was cancelled before it even aired.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Mark has a lot of fans and was a huge hit on 'TOWIE' and 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' [in 2011 when he came in second place to Dougie Poynter], but the shows he has done since then have been turkeys. He needs to find a show that works for him soon otherwise bosses may look elsewhere."
'Party Wright Around The World' kicked off with 350,000 viewers in February, but slumped to just 206,000 within the space of a month.
Mark's spokeswoman insists the 27-year-old star was fine about the decision to not go ahead with a second series of the show as he's already got other plans in the pipeline.
She said: "Mark was delighted by the fan reaction to the show. It was only ever meant to be one series."
Mark - who is engaged to 'Coronation Street' actress Michelle Keegan - left 'TOWIE' in 2011 and has attempted to build a career as a presenter ever since.

Courtney Love got confidence tips from gay pals

Courtney Love's gay friends taught her how to be a rock star.
The Hole singer credits her homosexual pals with helping her learn how to dress well and have a commanding presence when she enters a room.
She told Gay Times magazine: "When I was a kid I was definitely what you would call a fag hag because that's how I learned to dress and be extrovert and walk into a room.
"But at the same time, [musician] Julian Cope taught me a lot about that when I lived in Liverpool and he wasn't gay.
"I would say my freshman year of learning how to be a rock star was just hanging around drag queens, and my sophomore year was going to Liverpool and spending about two years with that crew of people and learning."
Courtney - who was married to late Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain and has battled drug addiction in the past - believes she is regarded as a "gay icon" because she is a survivor, and also knows how to "clean up nice".
Asked what makes her a gay icon, she said: "I think it's surviving. It has to be. Surviving, and also the ability to do drag, to clean up nice. I might look like s**t this morning, but you know, I clean up nice.
"And also... I've done things other people can't do. I've crossed over, I've been a movie star, I've lived through all sorts of crazy things I shouldn't have lived through.
"I've had huge ups, huge downs, and I've landed on my feet. I think that's what qualifies you."

Katie Holmes to replace Nigella Lawson on The Taste?

Katie Holmes could be set to replace Nigella Lawson on 'The Taste'.
The former 'Dawson's Creek' actress is reportedly being eyed by producers on the culinary contest ever since the chef's place on the third series of the show was thrown into jeopardy when she was refused permission to board a flight to Los Angeles after confessing in court last year that she has taken drugs.
A source said: "Producers of 'The Taste' are looking to replace Nigella. They're keen to hear more about how Katie's planning to reinvent herself as a Martha Stewart-style culinary guru.
"It's very early days and it all depends on what happens with Nigella, but Katie is very excited and would jump at the job if it came available."
Katie is said to be keen to launch a new career and has been in talks to make a TV show about her love of food and cooking, and sees working on 'The Taste' as a step in the right direction for her new image.
The source added to Britain's Grazia magazine: "A meeting is planned for when she is next in LA. Katie wants a new career, loves food and is in talks about writing a cookbook. And obviously she's great on camera."

Nicki Minaj to wed in hot tub?

Nicki Minaj wants to get married in a hot tub.
The 'Starships' hitmaker is engaged to boyfriend and assistant Safaree Samuels and is pulling out all the stops to make sure she has an extravagant ceremony including "fire breathers" and "naked performers" on the big day.
A source said to heat magazine: "She wants to arrive by elephant, and to get soaking wet by jumping into either a pool or a hot tub for the ceremony.
"She's talking fire breathers, naked performers and actually exchanging vows in the hot tub. She wants it to be the most beautiful and outlandish do of all time."
Nicki is considering hosting the ceremony in her native Caribbean in a bid to remember her roots.
A source added: "Nicki really wants to get married in the Caribbean, as she was born in Trinidad and wants to celebrate that part of her heritage. She's talking about renting a private island and hosting a three-day party - she wants the whole thing to be unforgettable."
Although the wedding day itself isn't the most conventional, the 31-year-old singer wants to be every bit the blushing bride in the traditional sense, with a beautiful gown and classic make-up.
The source explained: "She wants to look like a traditional bride, with classic make-up and a couture gown. What she does in the gown will be the wild part."

Lindsay Lohan: I felt humiliated by sex list

Lindsay Lohan felt "humiliated" after her rumoured list of 36 sexual conquests was leaked.
The actress has seemingly admitted she did write the list of famous sexual partners, which included Hollywood stars Ashton Kutcher, Zac Efron, Justin Timberlake, Orlando Bloom and the late Heath Ledger.
The 27-year-old star breaks down in tears and appears to confirm the authenticity of the list in a preview for the finale of her docu-series on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network.
She said: "The fact that that happened was not only humiliating, but just mean," after a headline of her list of sexual partners is displayed on the screen.
The list was printed in InTouch Weekly last month and the cameras appear to have captured her reaction to the story after it was published.
In the promo, Lindsay also said: "The story's on Page Six right now. This actually really is annoying now. It's f***ed up and I don't want a part in it, " adding, "For those two weeks I took off, no-one knows this..." she sobs, before the clip ends, giving viewers a snippet of what's to come.
Meanwhile, Lindsay also appears on Bravo's 'Watch What Happens Live' tonight (18.04.14) with host Andy Cohen, who also asks her about the sex list.
The 'Liz and Dick' actress comes clean, admitting the list was "actually my fifth step in AA [Alcoholics Anonymous] at Betty Ford [clinic]" and that someone "must have taken a photo of it" when she was moving house.
She added that it was "unfortunate" but insists she doesn't regret taking part in the docu-series with Oprah.

Iggy Azalea’s boyfriend doesn’t like new album

Iggy Azalea's boyfriend doesn't like her new album.
The 23-year-old rapper penned her debut album 'The New Classic' before she struck up a relationship with basketball player Nick Young six months ago, but she admits he's not impressed with the lack of love songs on the collection.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: "Nick said to me, 'Why don't you have any love songs on your album? It's all "I hate you" songs.'
"He's right, all my love songs are 'f**k love' songs, but that's where my head was when I wrote the album.
"Maybe my next album will be a little sweeter."
Despite their budding romance, Iggy - whose real name is Amethyst Kelly - insists there's no chance Nick will be joining her in the studio for a collaboration.
She explained: "There's more chance of me playing pro-celebrity basketball than of Nick rapping or singing.
"But he is a big rap fan, so I'm trying to convince him to come to Wireless Festival [in London] with me when I play in July as it's such a good line-up."
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty insists the direction of her next album will be determined by the success of 'The New Classic', which is out on Monday (21.04.14).
She added: "If this album does well, my next one will be very upbeat, but if it goes badly, I might get all broody and moody."

Tom Baker has no Doctor Who advice for Peter Capaldi

Tom Baker has no advice for new 'Doctor Who' star Peter Capaldi on playing the character.
The 80-year-old screen legend - who portrayed the Fourth Doctor from 1974 to 1981 - insists every actor who steps into the TARDIS has to find his own interpretation of the Time Lord and believes 'The Thick of It' star will bring his own energy to the role.
When asked if he had any tips for Doctor-in-waiting Peter, Tom said: "No I don't have any advice for anybody and certainly not somebody taking over 'Doctor Who'. He's a very accomplished actor, I've seen him do lots of mean things, you know swearing into his mobile phone. I'm sure he'll be good. Nobody has ever failed, have they? So they you are, he'll be all right."
Tom made a return the BBC sci-fi show for the 50th anniversary special last November appearing in a mysterious scene opposite former Doctor Matt Smith in 'The Day of the Doctor'.
The veteran actor thoroughly enjoyed working with Matt, 31, and appreciated the help he offered him on set.
Tom recalled: "Going to Cardiff on a winter's morning at 4 o'clock couldn't possibly be fun, but Matt was nice. I didn't understand the cameras any more because of the HD, so I was a bit uneasy, but Matt Smith was a charming young man. We did this little scene that people liked a lot."
Tom has always been very proud of portraying the Doctor and he quipped it's only been in recent years that's he allowed himself to accept that another 12 actors have played the role as well.
He joked: "It's only recently that it dawned on me that were other Doctors, I don't know them you know and I've got no desire to know them and of course I never watched them, I thought it was only fair never to watch them because I never watched myself, all I wanted to do was do it ... But me and the other Doctors nod to each other at conventions."
Tom will be seen on TV screens as the Doctor once again as The Horror Channel is airing adventures from the classic series starting from today (18.04.14).

Helen Flanagan: London is ‘b*tchy’

Helen Flanagan thinks London is "b*tchy".
The 23-year-old actress, who currently resides in Manchester with her boyfriend Scott Sinclair, insists she won't setting up home in the capital when she has children.
She told Star magazine: "I don't like to be down south for too long. Even though it is amazing, it's b*tchy. You just want someone to be really, really friendly to you.
"I just think sometimes, everyone's a bit more friendly [up north]. If you go into a club and you're in Manchester you can say, 'I love your dress' and they'll say, 'oh thanks'. You say that in London and they'll be like...[gives a dirty look.]'"
Meanwhile, the former 'Coronation Street' star briefly split with Scott last year amid claims he cheated on her, but the brunette beauty insists their relationship is back on track.
She explained: "Everyone's got to work at their relationship, full stop. Everything's all about compromise. I'm very protective over [Scott], his football, that kind of thing.
"He's really not into [reality television]. Even if we're papped he's like 'ohh'. All he cares about is football."
Helen recently admitted she'd like to start trying for a baby in the summer and is even planning on coming off her acne medication to boost her chances of conceiving.

Peaches Geldof’s funeral held on Easter Monday

Peaches Geldof's funeral will take place on Easter Monday (21.04.14).
The body of the 25-year-old star will be laid to rest at the country church of St Mary Magdalene in Davington, Kent, South East England, where her late mother Paula Yates was buried in 2000.
Peaches' father Sir Bob Geldof, 62, will give a eulogy at the service, which will be invite-only - similar to Paula's ceremony 14 years ago - for friends and family.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Bob is keen to speak as he did at the funeral of Paula and his dad Bob Snr in Dublin, but he knows it won't be easy.
"The family are completely exhausted and trying to organise a memorable final farewell for Peaches."
Peaches' body, which was released to her family by the coroner last Thursday (10.04.14), will be taken to the church - where the star was also christened and married in 2012 - ahead of the heartbreaking mass next week.
It is believed her body will be cremated and her ashes will be scattered alongside her mother's at her family home, the gardens of Davington Priory, Kent, where she grew up.
Peaches was found dead at the home she shared with husband Thomas Cohen and their sons Astala, 23 months, and Phaedra, 11 months, in Wrotham, Kent, on April 7 after Thomas raised the alarm when she failed to answer his calls.
Peaches' devastated family, including sisters Fifi, 31, Pixie, 23, and half-sister Tiger, 17, are now awaiting the results of toxicology tests, which could take weeks, after an inconclusive post-mortem last week.
