Drew Barrymore wants to focus on her family instead of working so much.
The 39-year-old actress - who welcomed second daughter Frankie into the world earlier this week - is ready to make changes to her life that will allow her to spend more time with husband Will Kopelman, their new baby and elder daughter Olive, 19 months.
She explained in an interview conducted before she gave birth: "I want to lead a very different kind of life and enjoy my time with my family.
"It's always been about film or a film production, producing, acting - every little detail that goes into film-making. I didn't know how to have a life under those circumstances.
"When you're on a film, you're in the middle of nowhere working 18 hours a day and it's really hard to have a life.
"I commend people who seem to balance it. I'm not sure how they do it."
Drew first took time out from work and decided to look elsewhere for fulfillment after a project collapsed and made her realise she could be happy with other things..
She told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "That was very frustrating, and I kind of saw that working all the time wasn't the answer for me. I took a trip to India and Bhutan and it was the kind of time you spend alone really thinking about your life.
"I decided I needed to take a break and change things. You're afraid to let go of the life you've gotten used to, but taking that time away from work was probably what led to the place where I was ready to meet my husband and figure out how to be happy with him and also to be a good mom."

Donnie Wahlberg asked Jenny McCarthy's son for her hand in marriage before proposing.
The New Kids on the Block star popped the question to 'The View' presenter earlier this month after her 11-year-old son, Evan, who she has with her ex-husband John Mallory Asher, gave him his seal of approval.
A source said: "Donnie asked Evan if it would OK to ask his mom to marry him."
After Evan said yes, Donnie enlisted him to deliver handwritten notes with the words "will", "you" and "marry" on them to Jenny before he appeared wearing a T-shirt printed with the final part of the message, "me?"
And the insider told Us Weekly magazine: "Jenny is incredibly happy with Donnie and vice versa. He's really supportive of everything she does.
"Donnie is her rock. He's everything Jenny needs but has never experienced in a relationship."
The couple don't plan to get married until next year, however.
The source said: "(It) won't be as big as her first," but it will be "classy and chic."

Vicky Pattison lives in "abject fear" that she'll get fat again.
The 26-year-old reality star unveiled her size 6 body to the world last year after losing three stone and despite only having put on a bit of weight since then, going from 8st to 8st 13lbs, she admits she is concerned about piling on the pounds again.
She told Star magazine: "I live in abject fear every day that I'm going to get fat again! Alcohol is the worst thing for you, but I can't drink a lot now - I've turned into a bit of a lightweight."
Vicky - who rose to fame on MTV's 'Geordie Shore' and is currently starring on new reality series 'Ex On The Beach' - also claims men are attracted her slim figure and new found confidence.
She explained: "I think it's horrible to say, but the majority of blokes obviously prefer slimmer women, but then it could be something to do with my confidence now.
"When I was bigger I would hide myself away in baggy clothes, sit at the back of all my friends and I wouldn't approach anyone. Now, I'm the life and soul of the party again. I'm not sitting at the back, hoping they don't touch a roll of fat!"

Snooki and JWoww are glad they "can be fat together."
The former 'Jersey Shore' co-stars, who are both pregnant, are relieved to have each other's support as they prepare for their new arrivals.
Snooki, who already has 20-month-old son Lorenzo with fiancé Jionni LaValle, told E! News: "It's definitely helped a lot because when I was pregnant for the first time, I didn't have anybody. But now, I feel like we can be fat together, we can complain about the same things. And we're only three months apart from each other, so we kind of get each other now."
JWoww added: "And I just ask her a million questions. And no matter how graphic, disgusting and uncomfortable they are, she has the most phenomenal answers."
JWoww, real name Jenni Farley, will welcome a baby girl in July with fiancé Roger Matthews, while Snooki, real name Nicole Polozzi, will give birth to her second child in September.
Asked what's the best piece of advice she has received from her best pal, JWoww, 28, said: "That everything's normal. When I'm like, 'This is literally so strange and weird and crazy,' she's like, 'No, it's normal. It's fine.' "

Brooklyn Decker refuses to play tennis with Andy Roddick.
The 27-year-old actress - who married the US tennis ace in April 2009 - admits she finds the idea of trying to compete against him on the court "depressing," but says they do battle "over the craziest things" at home.
The 'Friends with Better Lives' star said: "I am the worst tennis player. Why would I start something that I am always going to be terrible at? I'm always going to be the worst player in the house. It's depressing, so I just don't even allow myself to go there. It would be a bad. There is no hand-eye (coordination), so it would be a disaster, and then put me next to him and it would be a train wreck."
The blonde beauty admits she is very competitive, even when it comes to making breakfast.
She told 'The Queen Latifah Show': "You would think being married to an athlete that they would be the competitive person in the house, but it's always me. He's competitive in a really nice way and I take it one step too far every single time. I actually need to tone it down a little, it's too much."

Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid were "very touchy-feely" at a screening of her directorial debut, 'Just Before I Go,' on Thursday night (24.04.14).
The former 'Friends' star walked the red carpet with the Snow Patrol rocker, 37, at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, amid rumours they are engaged, and stayed by each other's side all night.
A source told E! News: "Courtney and Johnny were very sweet together and very touchy-feely. He constantly had his hand on her hip or she would put hers on his chest when they spoke. They seem really happy."
But the 49-year-old actress brushed off speculation about the diamond ring on her engagement finger, saying: "This is not... the question at hand. That I've worn forever."
The brunette beauty, who started dating the pianist in September, was later spotted supporting her boyfriend in front of the stage, as he performed with his bandmates at the movie's afterparty at The Flatiron Room.

A source claimed earlier this week that the duo have been talking about adopting a baby together, as Johnny has formed a close bonded with the actress' nine-year-old daughter Coco, her child from her previous marriage to David Arquette.

The 'Chicago Fire' star is rumoured to be preparing to propose to the 'Bad Romance' singer, real name Stefani Germanotta, but hasn't found the right diamond ring yet.
A source recently said: "Taylor's been looking at engagement rings for Stef for a couple of months.
"He has told a couple of his close guy friends that he wants to propose soon."
Lady Gaga, 28, previously admitted that she is completely smitten with Taylor.

Katherine Jenkins is "over the moon" to be engaged.
The Welsh opera singer is set to marry writer and director Andrew Levitas, 36, after he popped the question during a trip to the Hamptons, New York on April 15.
A spokesperson for the former 'Dancing with the Stars' contestant, 33, confirmed the news and told PEOPLE.com: "Katherine is over the moon."
The blonde beauty thanked her fans for their well wishes after news of her engagement first broke last weekend.
She wrote on Twitter: "Thank you for all your lovely wishes of congratulations. They mean so much to us."
Katherine was previously engaged to presenter Gethin Jones, but they broke up in 2011.

Selena Gomez reportedly stopped hanging out with Kendall and Kylie Jenner because she thinks they're a "toxic distraction."
The 'Come & Get It' hitmaker - who unfollowed the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' stars on Instagram and deleted all her pictures of them earlier this week - decided to turn her back on many of her old friends because she wants to focus on her career and doesn't want to be known as a party girl.

Gwyneth Paltrow has slammed one of Jessica Alba's eco-friendly products.
The 'Iron Man 3' actress, 41, named and shamed a cleaning agent from her rival's "non toxic" line, The Honest Company, as being potentially hazardous, after reviewing it with experts for a post titled 'The Dirty on Getting Clean ' on her lifestyle blog Goop.com on Friday (25.04.14).
She wrote: "Many of the 'clean' products I proudly use (and have even touted on goop) have turned out to be a product of marketing, rather than actually safe."
After seeking advice from the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and Gregg Renfrew of cosmetics company Beautycounter, the Oscar-winning star shared a "What We Were Using" list, featuring dozens of products she now considers to be unsafe, including The Honest Company's All-Purpose Cleaner, which claims to contain "no harsh chemicals."
EWG.org said that Jessica's product: "May contain ingredients with potential for acute aquatic toxicity; respiratory effects; nervous system effects," and gave it a "C" grade.
Gwyneth has decided to stop using the product, adding: "I will never give up my perfume, but maybe I can switch to greener and unscented laundry detergent, and remove some of the hand soaps I thought were great until I checked them on EWG.org . . . Food for thought."
It seems there is no love lost between the blonde beauty and the 'Machete Kills' star, 32, as last year Jessica claimed she was "much more grounded" than Gwyneth.
While promoting her first book, 'The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True to You,' the 'Fantastic Four' actress and entrepreneur claimed her tips were more relatable than Gwyneth's advice on her website and in her cookbooks because she grew up less well off.
She said: "Gwyneth Paltrow probably lives a very similar lifestyle, but I didn't grow up with a bunch of money, so my tips are much more grounded: repurposing things and making things at home."
The duo have a number of mutual friends, including Gwen Stefani and Nicole Richie.

Beyoncé Knowles' father has been cleared of being behind on his child support payments.
Matthew Knowles was accused of being a "deadbeat dad" by his former fling, Alexsandra Wright, and failing to provide for their four-year-old son, Nixon, but a judge has ruled the former Destiny's Child manager overpaid her $110,000 and he won't have to pay her any more money for three and a half years.
The judge ordered Matthew, 63, to pay Alexsandra $12,000 a month in February 2013, but reduced the payment to $2,485 recently after he proved that he could no longer afford to pay the original amount.
A source told gossip website TMZ.com that Matthew has now convinced the judge that he should have been paying $2,485 all along, and the judge agreed to give him credit for the overpayment.
Alexsandra recently claimed that she and Nixon are on the verge of being homeless because they can no longer afford their home and are on welfare.
Neither Matthew - married former model Gena Avery in Houston, Texas last July - nor his famous daughters, Beyoncé and Solange, have ever met Nixon.
The 'XO' singer previously hinted that she and Matthew, who split from her mother Tina Knowles in 2009 and divorced her in December 2011 after 31 years of marriage, were still in the process of rebuilding their relationship after they decided he would no longer be her manager in 2011.

Kendra Wilkinson is "very jealous of skinny pregnant women."
The former Playboy model - who is expecting a baby girl and recently revealed her second pregnancy has been "brutal" - is unhappy with her figure and feels "plump," even though she is set to give birth next month.
The 28-year-old beauty wrote on Twitter: "I feel very #plump right now and very jealous of skinny pregnant women. Oh well... That's life. LOL (sic)
"A big Italian meal will help my agony tonight. LOL"
After receiving some reassurance from a loyal fan, who told her that "just means you will have a healthy baby girl," the reality TV star conceded that much of her baby weight is down to the size of her unborn daughter.
She responded: "Yep. Found out she's HUGE today."
The 'Kendra On Top' star has been working out regularly and was determined to stay fit and healthy after struggling to lose the 60 pounds she gained with her son because she developed hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland does not make enough thyroid hormone.
She previously said: "I got it by the balls! I have full control now. First time around I'm like, 'I'm a skinny person, I'm going to get back right away.' Oh no. I learned a lot from my first one. I'm working out everyday; doing anything I can to control this this time around."
