Amanda Seyfried likes to read what people write about her on Twitter.
The 'Mean Girls' actress has revealed that she often searches her own name on the social networking site to see what her fans or critics have to say about her latest work.
She told the latest issue of Britain's ELLE magazine: "You can't take yourself too seriously if you don't wanna die.
"So yeah, sometimes I read the feed on Twitter where people are talking about me. I was scrolling one day, and there was something really sweet, like, 'Amanda heart heart' and a picture of me.
"And then there was, 'All movies starring Amanda Seyfried are definitely going to be awful'".
The 28-year-old star - who is dating 'He's Just Not That Into You' actor Justin Long - says she deals with the abuse
because she likes to see whether people who ask her for photographs end up posting them online.
She explained: "Well, I want to see what people have posted. Like if a have a weird conversation with someone in the
street and they take a picture of me, sometimes I want to see whether they put it online - it's stupid, I shouldn't really. I have a healthy curiosity."

Sarah Jessica Parker scrolls Twitter with one eyed closed.
The 49-year-old actress admits she sees "mean stuff" written about herself on the social networking site every day and it often hurts her feelings.
The former 'Sex and the City' star told NET-A-PORTER.com's The Edit magazine: "I see mean stuff every day: when I look at Twitter I scroll with one eye open and one closed."
The actress, who has son James, 11, and four-year-old twin daughters, Marion and Tabitha, with husband Matthew Broderick, recently lashed back at Sarah J. Symonds in a series of tweets after the self-described "relationship expert" suggested Sarah wasn't her children's biological mother because her daughters were carried by a surrogate.
She said: "That particular day, it was just one of the things I saw. I kept scrolling and then I was like, 'Wait a minute, did she just say that?' I went back and I thought, 'Well, this isn't unhealthy paranoia, this is absolutely conscious. This was a choice. She, not subtly at all, said that my children are not my children.' "
Sarah doesn't understand why she is the target of such negativity, as she tries to keep her family out of the spotlight.
She said: "What is it about me? I am not somebody who shows off her good fortune; I don't travel with bodyguards, I don't live a very glamorous life - I am afraid of all that. I don't talk about my marriage; I am circumspect about my children. I sometimes regret that people don't understand all that I do and all that I am because I am embarrassed to talk about what I've accomplished - I think it sounds self-centric and narcissistic."
But she added: "Other people can be mean, and that's something I just have to make peace with."

Miranda Kerr talks to Orlando Bloom every day.
The 31-year-old supermodel split from the 'Lord of the Rings' star, with whom she has three-year-old son Flynn, last October after three years of marriage, but insists they still have a "very good" platonic relationship because she prefers to be "positive."
The Australian beauty told the June issue of the UK edition of Harper's Bazaar magazine: "We speak every day. We're really close, we're going to be a family forever and we both really do love each other.
"We have genuine love and respect for each other. We're very connected and I feel grateful for that. We created something beautiful together and we both remind ourselves how lucky we are to have that. And yeah, it's good. He's a great dad. I'm lucky."
She added: "Everyone goes through challenging periods in their life. That's inevitable and it's part of being human. I feel like it's a daily process to be positive. It's something that's a choice and I have different tools, like meditation, even prayer - my grandmother taught me to pray when I was young - and just finding that inner peace."
Miranda's contract with Victoria's Secret also came to an end last year and she has no regrets about parting ways with the lingerie brand, as she is able to spend more time with Flynn.
She said: "It was a big chunk of time that I wasn't able to commit to because I'm a mother. I used to be in two different countries every single week. I made a conscious decision to shift gears. I'm very much a people-pleaser at heart -- I feel that if everyone else is happy, then I'm happy -- but I'm learning the power of saying no and putting my foot down."

Ryan Seacrest admits he's afraid of commitment.
The 'American Idol' host, who split from his last long-term girlfriend Julianne Hough last year after three years, and was then briefly linked to models Dominique Piek and Shayna Terese Taylor, recently got a new Labrador puppy, named Georgia, and hopes it will stop his mother putting pressure on him to settle down and have children.
Ryan was initially worried about whether he would have enough time for a pet due to his busy schedule.
He said: "Georgia is going to come to work with me sometimes. This is a major step for me. This is why I worry about commitment. Now you know why I fear it."
The 39-year-old star also told 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' on Wednesday (30.04.14) that getting his own dog is definitely a sign that he is maturing.
He said: "I had dogs in relationships, and then they end and the dogs would go. This is my first dog. My very own dog.
"I'm from the state of Georgia. I had the name before I had the dog. So I came up with a name, and I got so excited about the name that I figured, 'Okay, I have to follow through with the deadline and getting the dog.' "
He added: "This is all happening at the right time. I'm turning 40 in a few months. [Now] I've got the dog. I think my mother's expecting grandkids soon, so I'll name the grandkids, then find the wife."

Kim Kardashian wants to get pregnant on her honeymoon.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, who will reportedly legally marry Kanye West this week ahead of their lavish nuptials near Paris on May 24, is eager to give their 11-month-old daughter, North West, a sibling as soon as possible.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: "She wants to get pregnant right after the wedding. She wants her kids to be close in age."
North is set to celebrate her first birthday on June 15, and Kim, 33, has spent much of the last year following a rigid diet and exercise plan to lose the 50 pounds she gained during her first pregnancy.
Kanye, 36, has developed a very close bond with his baby girl, who recently started saying a few words.
An insider said: "She has recently started saying 'Daddy.' "
Kim previously admitted that North made her want to have "a million" children because she is the perfect baby.
She said: "I've always wanted about six [kids]. After having [North], I would have a million."
Meanwhile, the reality TV star was spotted making a few final arrangements for their upcoming wedding in the French capital on Wednesday (30.04.14), where she was joined by tennis star Serena Williams.
The brunette beauty fuelled speculation that she will walk down the aisle in a custom-made Balmain creation, as she visited the design house's showroom, but she may also have been finalising her dress for the Met Ball in New York City on Monday (05.05.14).

Peaches Geldof reportedly died of a heroin overdose.
The 25-year-old socialite's body was found at the home she shared with husband Thomas Cohen and sons Phaedra, one, and Astala, two, in Wrotham, Kent, England, on April 7, and detectives will officially announce her cause of death at an inquest later this morning (01.05.14).
North West Kent Coroner Roger Hatch will confirm the results of a toxicology test, which found Peaches' died as a direct result of the class-A drug, and the inquest at Gravesend Old Town Hall will be immediately adjourned, according to the UK's The Times newspaper.
The news is sure to have come as a blow to Peaches' father, Sir Bob Geldof, as her mother Paula Yates, 41, also died of an accidental heroin overdose in 2000, when Peaches' was just 11.
Police discovered no evidence of drugs paraphernalia in the house, sparking speculation that a friend or family member may have removed evidence from the property prior to the arrival of paramedics.
An autopsy carried out on the blonde beauty's body by a Home Office Pathologist shortly after her death proved inconclusive, so samples of her blood and tissue were sent off to a laboratory for further testing.
A spokesman for the police station in Kent declined to comment on reports she overdosed and added: "The inquest opens later today and that is all I can say."
The hearing is expected to last approximately 10 minutes and a full inquest into the model and TV presenter's death will take place in late July.
Peaches - who had reportedly become increasingly obsessed with her mother's death - was laid to rest last week at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in Davington, Kent, where her father delivered a heart-breaking eulogy.
TV presenter Alexa Chung, model Kate Moss, Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell, singer Eliza Doolittle, actress Jaime Winstone and Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman were among the other mourners at her funeral.

James Franco has branded Lindsay Lohan "delusional."
The '127 Hours' actor, who was recently named on the 'Mean Girls' actress' leaked list of celebrity sexual conquests, claimed that she once broke into his hotel room at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, but insisted they've never slept together.
He said: "I don't know what to say other than we were at this hotel during a very dark period of her history and I think she liked, it seemed pretty damn clear that she liked me.
"She even broke into my room one time, because she was so at home there I guess they just gave her a key. I was on the couch and I opened my eyes and there's Lindsay in my room at 3am."
But the 35-year-old star also told Howard Stern on his radio show: "I will swear on anything that you ask that I have never had sex with Lindsay Lohan! Here's the problem: I bet you if we brought her in here and you asked her to her face 'Did you have sexy with James?' she'd say yes.
"I can't believe she put me on that private list. She's so delusional!"
When Howard suggested there must be some truth to the list, James confessed he locked lips with the 27-year-old actress while filming 'Spider-Man 2' in 2004.
He said: "Alright, we maybe kissed...It was lame."
He added: "When we made out it was so long ago. I was like a nice guy."

Sophia Bush insists she isn't perfect.
The 'Chicago PD' beauty admits she only recently started to embrace her body and feel confident about her looks after years of insecurity.
The 31-year-old actress told the 'Today' show: "I've spent so much time talking to women about, 'Hey, I may be on TV and I may be photographed for magazines, but I don't think I'm perfect. I don't wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and go, 'Hey, I'm amazing!' That's not how it is, I'm a women and it's a struggle for all of us.
"And it took me until this point in my life at 31 to say, 'Hey, yeah I'm going to embrace my body and own it for me, not anyone else. And I'm curvy. Bradley Cooper has gained 40 pounds for his upcoming movie.
The 39-year-old actor has bulked up in the gym to play late real-life Navy SEAL Chris Kyle in the Clint Eastwood-directed film, 'American Sniper,' and his co-star Eric Close has revealed that the heartthrob overhauled his diet and fitness routine for the part.
The 'Nashville' star, who plays a Defence Intelligence Agency agent in the film, told E! News: "He put on like 40 pounds. He's really been working hard. He looks great. He's really taken on this character...He really takes this story personally and wants to do an honourable job for Chris' memory and for his family."
The movie, which is currently shooting at the Blue Cloud Movie Ranch in the Santa Clarita, California and also stars Sienna Miller, sees the Navy SEAL recount his military career, during which he killed 150 people, and is due to be released next year.
Bradley, who is dating British model Suki Waterhouse, admitted in February that he had to "go commando" to meet US President Barack Obama at the White House in Washington D.C. because his suit wouldn't fit after he gained 20 pounds for the role.
He previously said: "So I'm prepping for a new movie ... and nothing fits anymore.
"I wore the tuxedo I wore to the Golden Globes. I just sort of threw it in the bag and brought it and went to Washington, D.C., and then I'm getting dressed like 10 minutes before I was supposed to go and literally the pants go up to like here. Nikki Reed is reportedly dating Derek Hough.
The 'Twilight Saga' star - who announced her split from husband Paul McDonald in March after two years of marriage - is enjoying a "fun" fling with the 'Dancing With the Stars' professional dancer.
The 25-year-old brunette actress was spotted making out with Derek, 28, at Rock & Reilly's in Los Angeles on April 18, while they were enjoying a night out with friends, including Mark Ballas and Cheryl Burke.

Josh Hartnett didn't trust anyone at the peak of his fame.
The 35-year-old 'Penny Dreadful' actor hated being recognised all the time after starring in a string of Hollywood blockbusters, including 'Pearl Harbor' and 'Sin City,' and made a conscious decision to pursue more low-key indie roles a decade ago.
