Frank Skinner will appear in the new series of 'Doctor Who'.
The comedian has finally landed a role in the hit BBC sci-fi drama, joining new Time Lord Peter Capaldi on one of his first adventures in the upcoming eighth series.
The 'Doctor Who' über-fan is beyond excited to star in a future episode, which will be written by 'Being Human' scribe Jamie Mathieson.
He said in a statement: "I love this show. I subscribe to Dr Who magazine, I've got a Tardis ringtone, a five-foot cardboard Dalek in my bedroom and when I got the call saying they wanted me to read for the part, I was in the back of my tour bus watching episode three of The Sensorites. I am beyond excited."
Executive producer Steven Moffat added: "It's no secret that Frank's been pitching vigorously to get into 'Doctor Who' for a while. He's been volunteering to be 'third monster on the left' as long as I've been in this job. But now, in Jamie Mathieson's sparkling script, we finally have a part that can showcase all of Frank's famous wit and charm. Hopefully he'll get out of my garden now."
Other guest stars in the episode will include David Bamber, Daisy Beaumont, Janet Henfrey and Christopher Villiers.
The eighth series of 'Doctor Who' will air on BBC One in the autumn, with Peter Capaldi set to be joined by Jenna Coleman as companion.

Glenn Close will star in 'The Wife'.
The Academy Award-nominated actress will play the title character in the movie adaptation of Meg Wolitzer's novel - which follows the collapse of a couple's marriage as they travel through Scandinavia.
The story - published in 2003 - centres on 64-year-old Joan - played by Close - as she journeys to Stockholm with her novelist husband, Joe, to see him receive the fictional 'Helsinki' award.
Close, 67, will travel to Sweden for the shoot - which is set to take place next winter and spring - and will be directed by Bjorn Runge in both Swedish and English languages, reports Deadline.
Runge said: "The first time I read 'The Wife,' I was instantly inspired by the story of love, creativity and a secret larger than life in itself that the main characters, Joan and Joe, are carrying. After meeting the amazing Glenn Close, I was convinced that directing this film would be a creatively wonderful and challenging experience."
Close is also set to begin shooting 'The Great Gilly Hopkins' later this month, which is based on the 1978 children's novel by Katherine Paterson.
Alyssa Milano is expecting a baby girl.
The former 'Charmed' actress - who first revealed her pregnancy in March - and husband David Bugliari are set to welcome their first daughter into the world, a sister for two-year-old son Milo.
Alyssa announced the happy news in a video blog yesterday (15.05.14), in which she said: "I'm in my 'Mistresses' dressing room and I wanted to share with you guys that I am expecting a little, sweet baby girl!
"David, Milo and I could not be happier. Truly, we could not be happier. So exciting!"
The 41-year-old beauty couldn't contain her joy as she received an influx of messages from fans on Twitter congratulating her and David.
Alyssa tweeted: "I'm smiling so big right now reading all of your sweet messages. Thank you for the well wishes. We are so very happy."
The 'Mistresses' star, who wed Hollywood talent agent David in 2009 and gave birth to Milo in August 2011, revealed the couple were trying for another baby in February and announced her second pregnancy just a month later.
Earlier this year, Alyssa claimed her husband was taking ginseng, a herbal remedy believed to increase virility, to improve their chances of conceiving.
She said: "We are actively trying. David's just chugging down ginseng!"
Alec Baldwin believes he was arrested because of his celebrity status.
The 56-year-old actor was handcuffed and taken away in a police car on Tuesday (13.05.14) after he was caught riding his bicycle the wrong way down Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, but he denies claims he shouted at the two female officers.
He said: "They recognised me immediately. I saw the white female cop whisper to the Hispanic cop about who I was, and then they handcuffed me."
The former '30 Rock' star went on to tell the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column he felt he was targetted because of his fame and vowed to put up a legal fight.
He added: "There's a process hearing July 24, when all of this will come out."
The actor - who has eight-month-old daughter Carmen with wife Hilaria, and 18-year-old daughter Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger - also joked New York police take cycling offences as seriously as terrorism.
He said: "Now write this down carefully -- as I was stepping out of my car tonight outside the Four Seasons, a delivery guy on a bike going the wrong way down the street rode right in front of me and my wife.
"I joked to a police officer outside the restaurant, 'There is only one crime worse in New York than riding a bike the wrong way down a street, and that's terrorism.' The police officer laughed."
Following his arrest, Alec was taken into custody and given two summons, one for traffic violation and a second for disorderly conduct, after he failed to provide identification.
He was released shortly afterwards.

She said: "I would go wig-less, but I put little hot rollers in my hair in the morning and a little scrunchie but I would not answer the door without some make-up or hair. No.
"I spend a lot of time in California, and you know, they're always prone to have earthquakes, I never take my make-up off at night, I always keep it. Cause, I thought, if I have to run out in the streets you know, I have to look good cause you know there are going to be cameras everywhere."
The 68-year-old country music legend admitted she would consider going bare faced if her husband was faced with a medical emergency - but would have to "really think" before doing so.

Although she is in a very happy place now, the six-time Grammy Award-winning singer - who reflects about her roller-coaster life in her new memoir 'Unbreak My Heart' - also initially struggled when she decided to part ways with her family group The Braxtons to go solo and wasn't sure whether to include details of their split in her book.
She told People magazine: "Writing about it was therapeutic, but then I felt guilty because I had to tell a little of others' stories to tell mine."
