A hologram of Michael Jackson performed at the Billboard Music Awards last night (18.05.14).
The image of the late singer - who died of acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009 - danced and moonwalked to new track 'Slave to the Rhythm' in a gold jacket, white T-shirt and red trousers alongside a group of dancers.
Show director and producer Larry Klein said: "You were watching the magic of Michael Jackson just like you would have when he was performing."
Michael's former choreographers the Talauega brothers were brought in to work on the project and wanted to give fans "classic" Michael.
Rich Talauega said: "We knew we didn't need to go so far left field with his dance moves - we just kept it within his world.
"Its just the way you reconfigure his steps so it looks different. You're still speaking the same language, it's just a different dialect."
Tone Talauega added: "It was classic Michael, but we put our spice on it."
Event producers Dick Clark Productions built a special stage at the rear of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the performance, and dancers moved through aisles as Michael was seen rising from a throne and walking down steps before launching into his famous dance moves on a set modelled on the artwork from his 1991 album 'Dangerous'.
The performance took months of planning, choreography and filming and required developments in technology for it to be able to happen.
Producer Larry said: "We've been talking about it for the last five months and while we were talking about it they were still inventing the process.
"It was really strange talking about something that did not exist."

Robin Thicke made a public appeal to win back Paula Patton at the Billboard Music Awards last night (18.05.14).
The 37-year-old singer debuted a new song, 'Get Her Back', at the star-studded ceremony and he not only seemed to dedicate the track to his estranged spouse - who he split from in February after nine years of marriage - but the lyrics appeared to be an apology for his past behaviour.
He told the audience at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada:"All right, you got to help me try to get her back now."
He then appeared tearful as he sang lines such as: "I never should have raised my voice or made you feel so small...
"I should have kissed you longer, I should have held you stronger. I'll wait for forever for you to love me again."
Towards the end of the performance, he asked the crowd to put their hands together, fell to his knees and sang: "I gotta get her, I gotta get a girl tonight."
Earlier in the evening, the 37-year-old star - who has four-year-old son Julian with the actress - thanked "my wife" as he picked up the award for Top R&B song for his track 'Blurred Lines'.
He said: "Most importantly, I'd like to thank my wife for her love and support and for putting up with me all these years."
Though the childhood sweethearts insisted their split was mutual, it has since been reported that it was Paula's decision and Robin has since been doing his best to persuade her to give their marriage another try.

Poppy Delevingne can't believe she's married such a "dreamboat".
The 28-year-old model wed aerospace worker James Cook in a romantic ceremony held at St Paul's church in Knightsbridge, west London over the weekend and felt blessed to tie the knot with the man of her dreams.
She told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "Glorious London has delivered the sunshine and today I get to marry a total dreamboat, surrounded by the people I love and care about the most."
The stunning blonde wore a bespoke gown designed by Karl Lagerfeld, which was embellished with three-dimensional lace flowers and featured a capped sleeve chiffon top over a long silk skirt.
Poppy enthused: "Never did I imagine that such an iconic, wonderous fashion house as Chanel would make my wedding dress. It's been a real pinch-me moment."
The bride - who got engaged to James in October after seven years of dating - was accompanied down the aisle by her father and 14 young bridesmaids and pages, while her sister Cara Delevingne looked proudly on.
Guests including Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell, designer Matthew Williamson and TV presenter Trinny Woodall watched the pair exchange vows and their Leo De Vroomen wedding bands.
The service was followed by a traditional wedding tea with champagne and canapés at Kensington Palace's Orangery, and a party at Chiltern Street Firehouse.
The celebrations didn't stop there as a lavish bash in Marrakech, Morocco is planned for this weekend where guests will include Alexa Chung and Georgia May Jagger.

Rita Ora is planning to open her own horticultural shops.
The 23-year-old singer - whose recently finished filming 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and has also had a taste of the fashion industry modelling DKNY - is delighted about her new project and finds it "relaxing" arranging flowers.
She told The Daily Mirror newspaper: "I want to own flower shops, I love flowers. I love organising them and I love flower arranging - it's so relaxing. You cut, you rip, you zip."
The blonde beauty - who also owns a Kosovan soccer team as part of her company, Ora Multi Services, which her sister Elna runs - enjoys dipping into unusual ventures and insists she's building an empire so she can provide security for her family.
Rita explained: "It's things you wouldn't expect. Like Dr Dre - he recently finished that massive headphone deal. It's not like it's impossible, it's just about being smart and planning it out. Like 50 Cent with his water. It's about having good advisers. I have great people.
"My sister and family overview the whole thing. It's a nice little empire - I'm trying to create something so my family can be alright."
Rita - who is dating DJ Calvin Harris - admits she doesn't know much about soccer but she hopes to promote the sport in Kosovo - where she fled in 1991 before war broke out.
She added: "It's so funny because the football team I own haven't started playing yet. We've just got independence and they don't have a proper football team. I don't know the first thing about football. But the people who are going to work for it do."

Jean Dujardin insists winning an Oscar was a "fabulous experience".
The 41-year-old star won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in silent film 'The Artist' in 2012, but he's admitted that although he's proud of the award, it doesn't mean as much to him as he thinks it would to an American actor.
He told Variety: "There's a big fantasy around the Oscar but I never bought it. It was a fabulous experience but after all, I'm a French actor, I'm not American and I love performing in my language."
Dujardin also took on roles in Hollywood blockbusters 'The Wolf of Wall Street' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and in 'The Monuments Men' with George Clooney, but he's now pursuing more parts in European films.
He claimed he'd like to appear in arthouse projects such as 'The Wonders', insisting that "contemporary Italian cinema is really great and inspiring these days".
Dujardin will next star in Claude Lelouch's 'Un de Plus', a romantic movie which sees him and his co-star Elsa Zylberstein embark on a road trip across India, and he is also planning to produce films with his brother Marc via their Paris-based company.

Maddy Hill and Sam Strike don't socialise with their 'EastEnders' co-stars.
The soap newcomers - who play siblings Nancy and Johnny Carter - don't spend much time with their young castmates as they don't like going out partying very much.
Asked if all the young cast hang out together, Maddy said: "Not really. Well, me and Sam aren't really into the West End club scene."
Sam jokingly added: "We like drinking Horlicks and playing Scrabble."
And the pair admit their celebrations will be low-key if 'EastEnders' triumphs at the forthcoming British Soap Awards.
Discussing how he will celebrate if he wins a prize, Sam said: "I don't really know, I don't really drink. I'll probably celebrate in my head. I'll be happy in my brain."
Maddy added: "That is so cute! I'll probably do the same."
Sam won a lot of praise for a scene where his character came out to his dad Mick, who is played by Danny Dyer, and the actor admits he was very "nervous" about the response to the emotional discussion.
He told heat magazine: "I was proper nervous. The day it was on TV, and the day after, I didn't want to go out.
"It was really nerve-wracking but then Danny and I started getting positive feedback.
"In all fairness, I knew I was coming out to Danny in that scene, but Danny had pages and pages of dialogue.
"I was crying and choked up, so I couldn't talk. I feel that was what took people aback. It was so genuine what he was saying, like, 'It doesn't matter.' It was such a solid message."

Gemma Collins has accused her ex-fiancé of "stalking" the cast of 'The Only Way is Essex'.
The 33-year-old star broke off her short engagement to Rami Hawash earlier this year - blasting him for mentally tormenting her during their three-year relationship - and she now claims her "fame-hungry" ex is stalking her 'TOWIE' castmates at various showbiz events and on Twitter.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "None of the 'TOWIE' people want to know him ... he turns up at events, he stalks the 'TOWIE' cast on Twitter. The realisation that he was only with me to be famous is sad.
"I just wish [that] at 38-years-old, he would have more dignity and stop writing rubbish about me on Twitter. He's very bitter, and what guy would try and stalk people to try and get papped? He needs get to over it."
Gemma has now vowed to call off any future relationships should her boyfriend ask to appear on 'TOWIE' with her.
She explained: "I would never go out with someone that wanted to be on 'TOWIE'. I believe they'd be looking for fame rather than love.
"I'd be happy for my future boyfriend to do a cameo so [the viewers] see my life, but I'd never want to go out with someone that wanted to be famous ever again, because it was a living nightmare."

Liam Payne is considering a career as a David Beckham lookalike.
The One Direction heartthrob attended the launch party for the former soccer star's H&M swimwear collection last week and pictures of the pair together revealed a number of similarities, but Liam admits he's flattered by the comments.
He said: "People have been saying that a lot recently. It's probably the most flattering thing anybody can say.
"Becks is pretty much a legend and a hero of all of ours and I do really admire his style. I don't think anyone can match him but I'll take it.
"If it all packs in, at least I'll have a job as a lookalike."
However, the 20-year-old star is worried that his fans think he's intentionally copying David's style, as they both have matching quiff hairstyles, tattoos on their arms and a similar taste in clothes.
Liam told The Sun newspaper: "The fans are always pointing it out on Twitter. I'm beginning to worry he'll think I'm a stalker.
"They make out like if he buys a red jumper, the next day I'm out in a red jumper. I just think the man is a legend."
Liam and his bandmates Louis Tomlinson, 22, Zayn Malik, 21, and 20-year-olds Harry Styles and Niall Horan are currently enjoying some time off from their 'Where We Are' world tour after playing a number of dates in South America earlier this month.

Katie Price found out the sex of her baby without her husband Kieran Hayler.
The 35-year-old star revealed she was six months pregnant with her husband's second child just days before it emerged he'd been having an affair with her close friend Jane Pountney, and she's now said to have left him behind when she visited her doctor to discover whether they'll be having a son or a daughter.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "It was a bittersweet journey for Katie but she was so excited to find out she's having another daughter.
"Of course Kieran should have been with her, but things have changed."
The former glamour model was reportedly warned by her doctor on an earlier visit to try to keep her stress levels down, and although the news of Kieran's affair has made that more difficult, she's said to be committed to staying healthy for her new daughter.
The source explained: "For days after she found out about Kieran she could barely stomach food, she was so heartbroken. But she's determined now to stay fit and healthy for her little girl.
"She just wants things to be as normal as they can possibly be for the rest of the pregnancy. She was so excited to find out she's having another daughter."
However, Katie - who has sons Harvey, 12, Junior, eight, and six-year-old daughter Princess from previous relationships and 9-month-old son Jett with Kieran - reportedly still wants her husband to be by her side during the birth.

Elizabeth Olsen didn't want to become an actress because of her sisters' success.
The 'Godzilla' star, 25, was initially reluctant to carve out a career in Hollywood because she found her older twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's level of fame to be overwhelming.
She is quoted by America's Star magazine as saying: "Seeing what happened with my sisters always being followed around made me question whether this was what I wanted to do with my life. But it was always my choice."
But she added: "I was lucky to have an amazing drama teacher who encouraged me to pursue my dream. I love acting so much that I decided the trade-off would be worth it."
The blonde beauty was very nervous before filming the upcoming blockbuster after solely starring in a number of indie films.
She said: "I was [nervous], but I realised that making a movie was the same whatever the budget. There was this group of is banded together doing scenes.
"It looks amazing. They worked with the Japanese designs for the original 'Godzilla' monster, so I think the fans will be really pleased with what we've done."

Rapper Sky Blu was once stripped "butt naked" while crowd-surfing at a gig.
The LMFAO star, who is now releasing a solo album 'The Party President', has had a number of awkward experiences at shows when he's decided to jump into the audience and admits one concert saw him stripped of all his clothes.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I crowd-surfed at a gig at a college and they stripped me butt naked. I had thin pants on, like Arabian pants. All I had was the elastic band left, they ripped everything off!"
He added: "I'm at another college [performing] and I'm raging, running around. There are 6,000 kids. I see all these dudes, it's better to go towards them, they will support you, you don't wanna jump on girls, so I jump in and I feel the overwhelming crotch grabbers, a**e-grabbing. I was like, 'What the hell?!' "
But the rapper laughed it off and still thrives at live shows, even once performing a high energy set to just one fan at a badly promoted concert.
He said: "For seven months we were doing sold-out shows and were winning. We go to this conference in Rotterdam, it's this huge stage and we went for a sound check and we're like, 'We're about to f**k this sh*t up', we couldn't hear anybody but thought they were being polite.
"We looked out and there was one girl reading a book on a bean bag. We [still] decided to do a full show, drinking, running around, jumping. She loved it."
The star, who performed as LMFAO with his uncle Redfoo, hasn't ruled out releasing another record as a duo in the future but is focusing on his solo career.
He said: "I have so much passion in what I do. I'm ridiculously driven. I will not only be a very strong independent artist, I'm gonna inspire a lot of people, like Macklemore, one of my biggest inspirations."
He added: "The Party President is a part of me. I feel like I'm campaigning. I have a duty to move that booty.
"My new album is completely different to LMFAO's music, I wrote 30 something songs in a month. They were pouring from my heart. I thought, 'I can do this'."
Sky Blu's record is released later this year and his new single 'Go On Girl' is available now.
