Neil Patrick Harris has lost 22lbs.
The 40-year-old actor admits he has shed some weight over the past few months in order to play the titular role in the Broadway musical 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch'.
Speaking on 'Live! With Kelly & Michael', he said: "I'm skinny. When I was filming 'How I Met Your Mother', I knew this show is coming up and it's such a different type of role that for three or four months I've been doing nothing but cardio and trying to lose some weight ... I lost about 22 lbs."
Neil - who has their three-year-old twins Gideon and Harper with his fiancé David Burtka - lost the weight by switching to a healthier diet and eating at a different time.
He explained: "It was pretty much a combination of [diet and exercise]. I just stopped eating late. I was the kind of person who, after we put the kids down, we would go eat at like 9pm or 9.30pm. We would order food in and by the time we ate, it was 10ish. It's easier with kids because kids eat dinner around 5.30 or 6pm. And we would just eat with them and I would try to not eat later."

Hayden Panettiere fell down the stairs after the Met Gala on Monday night (05.05.14).
The 24-year-old actress took a tumble at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City earlier this week after her glamorous Tom Ford dress got caught up under her feet.
The 'Nashville' star was making her way out of the annual event, held by Anna Wintour, when she stepped on the back of her dress and toppled over.
However, the blonde beauty managed to elegantly save herself from landing on the ground and revealing her knickers, before smiling sweetly at photographers.
She continued down the stairs after the mishap but made sure she lifted up the frock so that she didn't make the same mistake again.
Meanwhile, Hayden recently revealed she and her fiancé Wladimir Klitschko were delaying their wedding due to the current fighting in Ukraine, as the boxer's brother, Vitali, is involved in the reform efforts over there.
She said previously: "Everything that's happening in Ukraine definitely put a hold on things. But we have time."
The couple started dating in 2009 and announced their engagement in October last year.

Miley Cyrus asked her fans to "snog" people of the same sex during the first London show of her 'Bangerz' tour.
The 21-year-old singer, who was hospitalised last month for a severe allergic reaction, appeared to be back to her usual self as she kicked off the European leg of her world tour at London's O2 Arena last night (06.05.14).
A source told the MailOnline: "She got loads of same sex people to snog in the audience and put them on camera on a giant screen and make a speech about how we should all just be ourselves.
"She said she hopes we are all drunk and on loads of pills and at one point her dressers had to come on stage as her corset was undone while humping midgets."
Lily Allen took to her Twitter account after the show to say how much she enjoyed the energetic set.
She tweeted: "That was basically the best thing I've ever seen #BangerzTour #MileyCyrus (sic)".
However, Miley's revealing costumes and sexy dance moves didn't suit everyone's taste and one person claimed her friend had walked out of the gig.
Claire Louise tweeted: "One of my old work friends has walked out of the Miley Cyrus show at O2 cos she was being vile and disgusting....no shock there then (sic)."
The 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker was forced to postpone a number of US shows and the first two shows of her European leg last month due to ill-health.
However, despite still battling with the illness, Miley is scheduled to perform five more dates in the UK before moving onto Ireland and finishing up in Chicago.

Kim Kardashian hasn't married Kanye West yet.
The 33-year-old star has shot down rumours she and the 36-year-old rapper tied the knot in a private ceremony in Los Angeles over the weekend after allegedly securing their marriage license last month.
When asked if she's already married Kanye, she told a reporter at the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night (05.05.14): "Still Kim, Mrs. West soon."
Meanwhile, the couple - who have 10-month-old daughter North together - are set for a wedding extravaganza with their friends and family in Paris on May 24.
However, it is believed the loved-up duo will be forced to legally wed in California before their romantic bash in Paris after it was revealed the French law requires a strict 40-day residency before they can get married in the country.
The brunette beauty has been busy preparing for her big day in the romantic city and recently admitted that she's chosen her wedding gown after trying on "quite a few".
She said: "I tried on quite a few. [Then I] narrowed it down."
The couple announced their engagement in October 2013 after year-and-a-half of dating.

Monty Python have unveiled a previously unheard track.
The comedy troupe premiered 'Lousy Song' today (06.05.14), which will feature on the upcoming re-issue of their classic 1989 album 'Monty Python Sings (Again)'.
The track was performed in 1980 by Eric Idle and hears Graham Chapman, who passed away in 1989, interrupting the recording to declare how much he dislikes it.
Speaking about the song, Eric said: "It is the only totally improvised sketch I can remember Python doing.
"Graham enters the recording studio when I'm listening back to a song I have recorded. I think it is very funny."
'Monty Python Sings (Again)' is set for release on June 9 with a box set of all their recordings, including three never-before-released songs and three new recordings.
'Monty Python's Total Rubbish: The Complete Collection' will then follow on June 30 and will feature all nine UK-released 'Monty Python' albums.
The new releases will coincide with 10 live shows at the O2 Arena in London in July, which will be the last time the veteran jokers will all perform together.
The reunion, which kicks off on July 1, will see Eric, Michael Palin, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, and take to the stage for the first time since 2009.

Britney Spears has been sued for allegedly breaking her backing-dancer's nose during rehearsals last year.
Dawn Noel has filed a lawsuit against the 32-year-old singer after she accidentally whacked her in the face while practising for her 'Work Bitch' music video at a studio in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, on August 19, 2013.
Ms Noel claims the 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' hitmaker arrived two-and-a-half hours late for rehearsals "in a dishevelled and confused state".
She went on to state the choreography for the dance was "fairly basic", but Britney appeared to be having "difficulty learning the moves and following simple directions."
Ms Noel claims she was standing to the side of Britney when the star "twirled in an unbalanced and reckless manner, arms extended out to her sides and forcefully backhanded" her square across the face.
The lawsuit, obtained by E! News, alleges that there was a "cracking sound", known immediately to be Ms Noel's nose, that was heard by other dancers.
Britney allegedly said sorry after the incident, before continuing with the dance routine.
Ms Noel sought medical advice half an hour later and was told she had a nasal fracture that would require surgery.
The lawsuit states that Britney and Reign Deer Entertainment agreed to pay for the medical bills, but Ms Noel was informed months later that wasn't the case.
Ms Noel is suing for serious physical and emotional damages and is demanding a jury trial.

Justin Bieber has sparked rumours he's dating a model.
The 20-year-old hunk was spotted getting cosy with Yovanna Ventura, 18, yesterday (05.05.14) as they rode in a rickshaw through Venice Beach, California.
The pair were seen acting "like a couple" on the beach boardwalk, where they "had drinks and snacks", before Justin drew even more attention to himself by putting his hand on Yovanna's thigh while they rode the bike.
A source told E! News: "Their relationship is blossoming. I wouldn't be surprised if they have now started dating."
The duo have known each other since March after the stunner caught Justin's eye on Instagram and he reached out to her, before meeting her a few weeks later in Miami.
The source added: "It's been killing her she couldn't tell anyone about him. Meeting Justin has been exciting for her."
It appears the feelings are mutual as the 'Baby' hitmaker reportedly enjoys her company and likes talking to her.
The source explained: "Justin really likes her. I think he really enjoys being around her. She is just such a genuine person and he likes to talk to her."
However, the news that Justin's found himself a new love interest might not go down well with his former flame Selena Gomez, whom he has been dating on/off for three years, as she reportedly "flipped" out last month after the star was getting too friendly with her pal Kylie Jenner.

Emma Roberts' family hoped she would grow out of acting.
The 23-year-old star - whose auntie is Julia Roberts - admits her relatives didn't want her to pursue a career in showbiz and wanted her to become a doctor instead.
Speaking in the June issue of Elle Canada magazine, she said: "She [my mum] just didn't want me to go into it [acting] young. When you come from a family that's in the industry, they're always like, 'Be a doctor! Be a lawyer!' But we end up wanting to be actors."
When asked if she received any advice from Julia, she added: "No one said anything to me about acting because they hoped it would just be a phase. But I kept doing it!"
The blonde beauty - who shot to fame after taking on the lead role in the TV show 'Unfabulous' - believes her determination to follow her own dreams comes from being raised single-handily by her mother Kelly Cunningham.
She explained: "I've always been very opinionated. That's what comes from being raised by a single mother. My mum always instilled confidence and told me to have an opinion and to educate myself."
However, Emma - who's engaged to Evan Peters, believes she lets herself down because she's a procrastinator.

Adam Levine will get "rid" of his platinum blonde hair before his wedding day.
The Maroon 5 frontman ditched his brown locks for an eye-catching peroxide blonde style last week and, although he likes his new do, he insists will dye it back before he ties the knot with his fiancée Behati Prinsloo later this year.
Speaking to 'Access Hollywood', he explained: "[I'm] probably gonna have to get rid of this before [the wedding] happens. I love my hair [but] it's not gonna be this way forever - trust me. I'm gonna have to change it back for something or other. I'm enjoying it."
The 'Voice' USA coach has faced a lot of backlash online after he posted a picture of his new look on Instagram at the weekend, but he insists he doesn't mind the negative comments because all that matters is that Behati likes it.
He said: "Behati loves it. Most people aren't gonna like it, but I'm OK with that."
The hunk doesn't even know where the idea for the change came from, but he just wanted to try something new.
He added: "I literally woke up and said I want to try something different. I'd never done it before."

Simon Cowell thinks his baby son has got his "handsome" looks from him.
The 54-year-old music mogul posted a series of cute photographs of three-month-old Eric on his Twitter account last night (05.05.14), but he made sure he took full credit for the tot's sweet smile and adorable facial features.
He tweeted a snap of Eric, peering over the sofa, with the caption: "Very handsome like his dad."
The 'X Factor' boss also assured his fans that the youngster, whom he has with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, has been very "healthy and happy" following his birth on February 14.
Meanwhile, Simon's former girlfriend Terri Seymour recently admitted that the 'Britain's Got Talent' judge is a "really good" dad - apart from the occasional near-mishap.
She said last month: "He's great actually. I mean he hasn't changed his lifestyle because Simon wouldn't. But he's very good. He'd never even held a baby before, so he was like, 'How do you hold a baby?'
"You have to remind him every now and then about the head... But he's really good and he loves it."

Although, Terri believes Simon has taken to fatherhood so well because Eric is such an "easy" baby.

Madonna wanted to attend the Met Gala semi-naked.
The 55-year-old singer took to her Instagram account last night (05.05.14) to share a raunchy photograph of what she had planned to wear to the glamorous event in New York City yesterday, but Vogue editor Anna Wintour shot her down.
The snap showed off her barely-there ensemble, which appeared to be made of white tape that was wrapped around her breasts, although she did manage to preserve her modesty by inserting a large "censored" sign across it.
She accompanied the risqué photo with the caption: "What I wanted to wear to Met Ball but Anna said Not this year! So I'm gonna work on music instead? #artforfreedom (sic)".
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty is no stranger to shocking her fans with her bizarre shots on the photo-sharing site as back in March she posted a picture of her, standing in her sexy underwear, showing off her hairy armpits.
She wrote at the time: "Long hair...... Don't Care!!!!!! #artforfreedom #rebelheart #revolutionoflove. (sic)"
Earlier that day, Madonna posted another cheeky picture in which she wore fishnet tights and fetish-style underwear, which showed off her butt.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum's daughter "can't get enough" of broccoli.
The 33-year-old actress insists her 12-month-daughter Everly - whom she has with her husband Channing Tatum, 34 - has already developed a love of healthy eating as she enjoys chomping on the green vegetable at meal times.
Speaking to Us Magazine, she explained: "It sounds so crazy but this little girl loves broccoli. I don't know how I lucked out with a kid who loves broccoli. She literally can't get enough."
The brunette beauty has been creating new meals in the kitchen for her little one to try and was over the moon when Everly seemed to enjoy her infusion of ginger sauce, lentils and garlic.
She explained: "It's really fun to see her go 'Mmm that was good,' and like it because they have such a clean palette. You can sort of give them anything and decide what they like. I'm constantly being creative in the kitchen for her."
Meanwhile, the 'Witches of East End' star hasn't been able to leave the tot's side recently without her bursting into tears as she's currently going through a "mummy stage".
She added: "She wants me all the time, like, she's crying when I leave the room ... She's like really a buddy, I love taking her places with me; Going to stores with her, going to friends' houses--she just hangs out. She's literally the coolest little girl."
