Sir Paul McCartney almost drowned as a boy

Sir Paul McCartney nearly drowned in a lime pit as a boy.
The 71-year-old legend's brother, Mike McGear McCartney, revealed the pair of them are lucky to be alive after they "were clinging for their lives" in a ditch and is glad their screams were heard by neighbours who helped to save them.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We were screaming and clinging on for our lives. Eventually, a neighbour heard us. He pulled us out."
Mike admits that their dad, James 'Jim' McCartney, was not pleased when he found out but since they were visibly shaken he let them off.
He added: "We got a good hiding from our dad. It wasn't as bad as it could have been because he could see the shock."
Meanwhile, talking on the 'Kevin & Bean' show, Paul has insisted he likes talking about his Beatles heyday since it's like looking at a "scrapbook" full of fond memories.
He explained: "It's like kind of talking about your college days when you're kind of not at college anymore and there's quite a few years gone by. With the Beatles, so much what we did was incredible. And I can talk like that because it's over. It's like looking at scrapbook.
"There's so many great moments, that I actually like being reminded of them."

Anna Passey wants Best Villain soap award

Anna Passey wants to be crowned Best Villain at the British Soap Awards.
The 'Hollyoaks' beauty, who plays scheming Sienna Blake on the Channel 4 soap, is desperate to win her first ever gong at the London awards ceremony later this month.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: "I would absolutely love to win because I have never won an award. I was up for an NTA (National Television Awards), which was exciting but disappointing not to win.
"The fact I've got another go at it is great, especially in the villain category, because I absolutely love playing a villain."
The 28-year-old actress, who missed out on a Sexiest Female nomination, faces stiff competition from her own co-stars Greg Wood (Trevor Royle) and Jesse Birdsall (Fraser Black) in the Best Villain category and hopes Sienna' vulnerable side won't mean she isn't a top contender for the prize.
Anna - who joined the soap in 2012 - added: "I'm very excited. I was worried because Sienna's had her more vulnerable, softer side on screen.
"As she's such a complex character I wondered whether people would start to question whether she's actually a villain or not.
"I didn't expect to be shortlisted. But I'm not sure I have a chance against those two because they are mean men."
Fans can cast their votes ahead of the May 24 ceremony at britishsoapawards.tv.

Binky Felstead and Alex Mytton to ‘work things through’?

Binky Felstead and Alex Mytton are "trying to work things through".
The 'Made In Chelsea' co-stars were seen recently ending their six-month relationship after Alex was accused of cheating on Binky, but his former girlfriend has admitted things may not be over for good.
She told OK! magazine: "We are trying to work things through, yes, but it's very difficult ... We're going to see what happens."
The 23-year-old brunette, who was left devastated after they split in the last episode and had to be comforted by her mother, admitted it has been tough watching her problems play out on screen.
She said: "It's been horrible, I've been watching the show away from the other cast members because it's not easy seeing yourself like that.
"Before now, I'd never seen myself cry. So these past few weeks have been a real eye-opener. It's not been nice.
"I wish it was fake and scripted because this series has been quite a journey."
Binky - whose real name is Alexandra - also admitted her experiences have made her think twice about embarking on another televised romance.
She said: "It's not something I'd recommend. This is my first real emotional blowout and a lot of people are saying it's the most powerful series yet. I think that's because the emotions are so raw and real.
"I guess I'm glad that I'm able to contribute to the show - although I do kind of wish this wasn't my drama."

Eminem to headline Wembley Stadium

Eminem is set to play London's Wembley Stadium this summer.
The 'Lose Yourself' rapper is returning to the UK for the first time since 2001 and has chosen to perform at the massive venue on July 11 after his original Hyde Park show wasn't given the royal seal of approval.
He announced the news on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show yesterday evening (06.05.14), saying: "I heard that I wasn't going to be approved to play in Hyde Park and it made me even more excited to play in London this summer.
"The easiest way to get me to do something is to tell me I can't do it. Thanks to the Royal Parks for making it all possible... for Wembley."
Eminem will be the first rapper ever to headline the venue and his next single 'Headlights' from his latest album, 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2', is going to be released to coincide with the show.
The star is also doing a mini US stadium tour with Rihanna this summer, 'The Monster', which will take them to LA, New Jersey and Detroit.
He explained that he prefers to perform big one-off gigs these days rather than spending months on the road.
Eminem added: "I'm not saying I'll never be ready for that again, but right now, this is what's working for me."
Tickets for the Wembley show go on sale this Friday May 9 at 9am.

Charlotte Crosby ate raw Walrus

Charlotte Crosby ate raw Walrus while she was travelling for her reality show.
The British star - who was catapulted to the spotlight on MTV show 'Geordie Shore' - has been whizzing around the world for 'The Charlotte Crosby Experience' and she insists walrus was one of the worst delicacies she ate.
Asked about what the worst foods she ate was, she told heat magazine: "Walrus - that was awful. It wasn't cooked. Like, imagine you got a joint of beef or gammon, and you just shoved it in the snow and froze it. Then you took it out, chopped a bit off and just started eating it. That's how they eat it."
Although she wasn't keen on certain cuisines she insists her strong accent was understood by most communities she interacted with.
Charlotte added: "People got my accents more than the crew'! It was the people from London. They couldn't understand. With me, they're were totally fine - totally understood us."
She recently admitted she learnt a lot about relationships during her new reality show where she was taught important life lessons about love.
Charlotte said: "I'm the type of person who, when I'm arguing with my boyfriend I think, that's it I'm finishing with him.
"But finishing with someone or getting a divorce is just not a question for the people I stayed with in India or Canada ... You look at all the great times you've had together and you don't just focus on the one bad time."

Miley Cyrus stays sober on tour

Miley Cyrus doesn't drink or smoke on tour.
The 'Wrecking Ball' singer resumed her 'Bangerz' world tour in London last night (06.05.14) after having several weeks off due to a serious allergic reaction to an antibiotic and claims she is back on top form for her fans, even shunning alcohol, cigarettes and drugs when she's performing.
According to multiple sources, she said during a press conference: "I'm probably the only one on this tour who doesn't drink or smoke before a show, as I take this really seriously. It's almost like being an athlete being up here, because if someone was f**ked up, they definitely couldn't do my show."
Miley feels "better than ever" following her hospital stay and threatened to explode like a shooting star when she took to the stage.
She enthused: "I'm feeling good, I'm alive - so that's f**king awesome. I'm the poster child for good health. I've been laying down for three weeks. I'm gonna go off - I'm like a star waiting to explode."
The 21-year-old singer, who urged members of the audience of the same sex to kiss each other during her controversial, twerk-heavy set at London's O2 Arena, revealed she was on a natural high of vitamins these days.
She said: "I'm on this crazy vitamin rush and crazy honey and lavender. I learned a lot about taking care of yourself [while I was in hospital]."
Miley also slammed hurtful rumours she had postponed a number of her US shows and the first two dates of the European leg of her tour because of a drug overdose.
She lamented: "There is nothing I would rather not do than lay in a bed for two weeks. It was the most miserable two weeks of my life."

Jon Hamm’s ‘soul-crushing’ porn set job

Jon Hamm used to work on porn films.
The 43-year-old actor struggled to get his big break in Hollywood when he first started out in the 90s and took every job he could find, including the "soul-crushing" role of a set dresser for soft-core porn movies.
He confessed in the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine: "I was actually at that time working as a set dresser for Cinemax soft-core-porn movies. It was soul-crushing."
Years later, after slaving away as a waiter and being dropped by his first agent, Jon landed the role of slick advertising boss Don Draper in hit 60s set show 'Mad Men' and he has never looked back.
He explained: "This is the best job I've ever had and maybe ever will have in my life - it's so fun to play all of this. It can be relentlessly dark. It can be terribly sexually inappropriate, is a way to say it. But who else gets a chance to do any of that stuff? There's so much there."
The handsome star's passion for acting harks back to his childhood, when his father would take him along to parties and dump him in front of the TV all night.
Jon recalled: "Eleven-thirty would roll around and the big huge 22-inch TV would be tuned to 'Saturday Night Live'. I would sit two feet in front of the TV and stare and watch the whole thing."

Janelle Monae: I didn’t like the Coachella crowd

Janelle Monae didn't like the audience at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The 'Tightrope' singer joined OutKast on stage to sing with Big Boi at the event in Indio, California last month, and while critics claimed the show failed to live up to expectations but Janelle blames the crowd.
She told Faster Louder: "I didn't like that Coachella audience.
"I'm happy I got to CounterPoint [Music Festival] in Georgia, because those were real festival-goers, in my opinion."
Janelle joined Andre 3000 at the CounterPoint Music Festival to dance on stage during 'Hey Ya!' last weekend and gushed about the band who have reunited onstage after a near decade-long hiatus.
She said: "That is my favourite duo, favourite rap group ever invented.
"They were in their time travel machine and they came back to see us, and I think we should all be grateful that they came back. "The music is more fun, and lives are enriched with those two ATLiens performing. They're also great friends of mine, so it's great to see your friends do what they love doing and get the love and support they need."
Outkast collaborated with Monae on two tracks from their most recent album - 2006's 'Idlewild' - and she also made an appearance on Big Boi's 2010 solo album 'Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty'.

Michael B. Jordan ‘geeked out’ about Fantastic Four casting

Michael B. Jordan "geeked out" when he was cast in the 'Fantastic Four' reboot.
The 27-year-old actor will play the Human Torch - a character who can absorb fire into his own body and is able to fly - in the forthcoming film and insists he and writer/director Josh Trank, who he previously worked with on 2011's 'Chronicle', acted like they were discussing their next "science project" when they were in talks about the production.
Talking to vibe.com, he enthused: I was like 'Oh shit. Man, that is ridic-- really? You want me to play that guy? Okay, cool.' It was just us two guys, two fanboys, just geeking out over the possibilities, or how it's going to be, and what we should do here, what we should do there, and the ideas we had for it. It just like two best friends just sitting there talking about our next science project. It was a lot of fun, a lot of excitement. I was excited. I was geeked."
Although Jordan wants to make his portrayal unique he admits there are certain elements of the beloved superhero which he must stay true to.
He added: "There are certain characteristics that people look for in the Human Torch that makes him unique. You gotta respect the past a little bit, and you also gotta respect the present and the future and give your own take."
He will be joined by Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm aka The Thing, Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic and Kate Mara as the Invisible Girl.

Katie Price had no pregnancy signs

Katie Price's pregnancy is very different to her previous ones.
The 35-year-old former glamour model has just discovered she will give birth to her fifth child in three months time and says the news came as a shock because she hasn't experienced any of the symptoms she had when carrying her other four children, Harvey, 11, Junior, eight, Princess, six, and Jett, eight months.
She said: "I had no idea I was even pregnant. I always laughed when people said that they never realised they were pregnant. I've had four kids and it happened to me.
"I usually put on loads of weight and you can only just see my bump now. I've had no cravings and I'm not eating ice cubes like I have with all the others.
"I don't even feel pregnant. But I really want to start to show my bump off. It's going to be gone soon, so I want to make the most of this bump."
Katie - who knows the sex of her new baby - insists all her family are excited about her shock pregnancy, but she still thinks it is "crazy".
She told Now magazine: "We've gone through such swings of emotions so it feels now we can all start really getting excited. This baby is going to be in the same school year as Jett because they'll be less than 12 months between them. It's completely crazy."
And though the six months pregnant star wasn't expecting to have another baby so soon, she still wants more children in the future.
Asked if baby number five will be the last, she replied: "No way. I want more kids. I'm going to start again when I'm 40 but I think I need to give myself a rest before I get going again."
