Gisele Bundchen raises her own chickens.
The 33-year-old supermodel is so committed to eco-friendly living, she has her own flock of birds in her Los Angeles garden and relies on them to take care of any leftover food so it's not wasted.
She explained: "I have a beautiful garden in L.A. where I raise chickens. We have very little waste because the chickens eat all of the vegetable scraps, and anything they won't eat, I put in my compost pile with the chicken poo."
The Victoria's Secret beauty, who has two children - Benjamin, four, and 17-month-old Vivian - with her husband, football star Tom Brady, also revealed she is fond of making snacks from scratch for her kids.
When she's not strutting her stuff down the runway, Gisele and Benjamin like to make fruit leather - chewy rolls of dried fruit - for the youngster to take to school.
The Brazilian star told Food & Wine magazine: "Benjamin and I make his school snack together - fruit leather in our dehydrator. You can use any fruit, but I always use banana as the base because it has great texture and sweetness.
"My son is so proud, he goes to school and tells all his friends he made his own snack."

Julia Roberts celebrated Mother's Day in two different cities.
The 46-year-old actress had to be in New York City on Sunday (11.05.14) for the premiere of her new HBO drama 'The Normal Heart', so instead of having a brief celebration with her kids - twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, nine, and six-year-old Henry - in California, she decided to fly them all out with her.
She said: "We celebrated Mother's Day the whole day. We started in California celebrating, then we got on a plane and we celebrated, and then we arrived here in New York and they all took me out to dinner. It was beautiful."
The 'Pretty Woman' star helped her husband, Danny Moder, and their three children to pack their bags for the trip to the Big Apple but confessed they all spent most of the day making sure she didn't have to tend to her usual motherly duties.
She told People magazine: "Everybody was well organised for the day ... Well, one day out of the year, they can tighten the ship!"
Julia also revealed what gifts she'd received from her children and explained how her youngest son Henry had chosen a card with fill-in-the-blank sentences.
She said: "One of them said, 'My mom is happiest when ... she gets home from work.'"
The blonde beauty admitted that despite loving her job, she's thrilled to be able to focus on her children once she gets home from work,
She added: "When you get home and you see those cute little faces and those big eyes, you just go, 'Yes.' I feel like when I walk in the door, as soon as I see them, everything else just disappears."

'Neighbours' newcomer Tim Phillipps feels "pressure" after Kylie Minogue vowed to watch him on the show.
The hunky actor has joined the Australian soap as Daniel Robinson, the son of iconic characters Charlene and Scott Robinson - played by Kylie and Jason Donovan - and he hopes the pint-sized pop star tunes in as promised during a recent interview.
He told BANG Showbiz: "That would be so cool, I'd love it if she could tune in and see a bit of Daniel. I guess there is a bit of pressure now [she has said she will]! Hopefully she likes what I'm doing, it'd be a bit of upsetting if she didn't."
While Kylie quit 'Neighbours' for pop stardom in 1988, Charlene and Scott's romance captured the nation's hearts, with a peak of 20 million viewers tuning in for the UK broadcast of their wedding that same year.
Tim feels the introduction of the couple's son - more than two decades later - could help bring back old viewers.
He explained: "It's exciting, the fact that it was such a big time for the show and they were such big characters - it's nice to be linked in with that. Hopefully, with Daniel on the show it may be a reason for the people that loved it back then to tune back in. "
And the actor would love Daniel's parents to drop by Erinsborough for a visit.
Tim added: "I would love that. It would be super exciting because if they did come back - even if it was brief - a lot of their [scenes] would be with Daniel. It'd be a great experience for me to be able to work with them.
'Neighbours' airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.

'Good Morning Britain' needs at least a year on air before its ratings can be judged, according to ITV's director of television Peter Fincham.
The TV boss has defended the new breakfast show - which is fronted by Susanna Reid - and insists the channel is firmly behind the programme despite ratings dropping to as low as 400,000 viewers.
Speaking at a Broadcasting Press Guild lunch on Tuesday (13.05.14), he said: "It's like your breakfast cereal. We are all very habit formed at breakfast time. We wouldn't expect to see anything happen very quickly."
"We are in it for the long term. We have got a show here that is trying something fresh and different although with many of the familiar elements of a breakfast show. I look at it now and can see the beginnings of something that will make a difference.
"We should come back to this conversation in nine months or a year's time. In terms of the speed of change in breakfast television, this is almost too early to have this conversation."
Peter also praised the show's hosting team, which includes former 'BBC Breakfast' star Susanna, Ben Shephard, Charlotte Hawkins and Sean Fletcher.
He added: "I think it's a really strong line-up of presenters.
"I think it's fresh and different, it's good that we are trying something different. It's more newsy, which I think it should be.
"It's two or three weeks in the life of 'Good Morning Britain' - in the life of a breakfast show that is a nanosecond. It is very early days, we are right behind it."

The stars of 'Heroes' could return for the show's new spin-off.
NBC confirmed plans to reboot the popular drama - which followed a group of people with extraordinary powers - in February, and it seems original stars such as Hayden Panettiere and Zachary Quinto could be invited back.
'Heroes Reborn', which will launch next year, will be a 13-episode series executive produced by 'Heroes' creator Tim Kring.
Speaking at NBC's upfront presentation in New York this week, TV boss Bob Greenblatt said: "Some familiar faces from the show are bound to drop in.
"We have a big mini-series called 'Heroes Reborn', based on one of NBC's strongest dramas in recent years. Its original creator Tim Kring will reboot the show.
"Plus, we'll ramp into the show with an original online series prior to launch."
'Heroes' first launched in 2006 to critical acclaim in both the US and UK and made stars out of its cast, including blonde beauty Hayden, 24, who played indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet.
The series was axed after four seasons in 2010 amid low ratings.
Original 'Heroes' star Masi Oka - who played Hiro Nakamura - has hinted he'd like to return to the show.
He wrote on Twitter: "Was watching the Olympics and saw the #HeroesReborn trailer. Time to dust off the sword?"

'Two and a Half Men' is to end after its 12th season.
The hit sitcom starring Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer - which also starred Charlie Sheen until he was infamously fired from the show in 2011 - will conclude in 2015, US TV network CBS has confirmed.
CBS boss Nina Tassler has promised the final season, which will begin broadcasting in the US in September, will be a "season-long event" much like the last season of 'How I Met Your Mother', which focused on the events of one weekend in its final episodes.
Speaking at the network's upfront presentation today (14.05.14), Nina said: "[Show creator] Chuck Lorre is creating a season-long event. Chuck is very psyched about this, he's got some great ideas and very big surprises. We know fans and audiences respond to that and that should really give us a nice boost when we launch our new comedy."
Leading man Charlie was axed from 'Two and a Half Men' in 2011 following his erratic behaviour, such as slamming the show's creator in various interviews. The actor reported to a rehabilitation facility for alleged drug and alcohol abuse, but his controversial private life soon eclipsed the show.
At the time, the 48-year-old star was the highest paid actor on television, earning $1.8 million an episode.
Ashton, 36, replaced Charlie going into the show's ninth season and commands $700,000 per episode, while Jon, 49, earns $620,000.

Neil Innes was surprised by how many fans The Rutles have in America.
The Monty Python music man has reformed The Beatles parody group, which was originally formed as a spoof by Neil and comedian Eric Idle, and admits he was shocked by how popular the group is overseas during a recent visit.
He told BANG Showbiz: "They don't hold back [in America], what I didn't know, from all the years, from first doing The Rutles, I spent all the whole weekend [on a recent trip] signing Rutles albums.
"I had no idea that so many Beatles fans were also fans of The Rutles."
The band, often referred to as the Pre-Fab Four, were originally formed for a sketch in Eric's 'Rutland Weekend Television' show.
They later went on to star in the film 'All You Need Is Cash', which features a cameo from George Harrison, and had a number of successful albums.
Neil, 69, is also pleased Oasis are fan of the band after they lifted a melody from their song, How Sweet to Be an Idiot', for their song 'Whatever'.
Neil said: "I enjoy a certain amount of peer support [and] I think The Rutles has got to be in the top ten of tour bus films, because everyone has been there.
"There was a camaraderie, everyone knows what it's like to be in a band. The Rutles, now, are very good virtuoso musicians, craftsman, who know their stuff and have a sense of humour."
Neil has revealed that his alter-ego Ron Nasty and drummer John Halsey, known Barrington Womble, will be the only original members of the group taking part in 19 shows.
They will kick off the tour at Exeter Phoenix on May 7 and finish at the Liverpool O2 Academy 2 on May 31.

Bob Dylan is working on a new album.
The 72-year-old singer has treated fans on his website bobdylan.com by posting a cover of Frank Sinatra's 'Full Moon & Empty Hearts', which will reportedly be featured on his 36th studio album.
A spokesperson for the singer told Rolling Stone magazine: "This track is definitely from a forthcoming album due later on this year", which will be the follow-up to 'Tempest', which was released in 2012.
The song was written by Ted Mossmann and Buddy Kaye and was based around Sergei Rachmaninoff's 1901 composition 'Piano Concert No. 2 in C Minor'.
However, Sinatra made the song famous and Dylan's version can now be streamed on his site.
The 'Blowin' in the Wind' hitmaker also posted a photograph of himself in what appears to be a vintage album cover entitled 'Shadows In The Night', referencing Sinatra's song 'Strangers in the Night'.
Meanwhile, Elvis Costello, Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons and Jim James of My Morning Jacket are working with producer T Bone Burnett on a record based on long-lost lyrics written by Dylan.
The stars have been recording at Los Angeles' Capitol Studios to work on more than 20 unfinished songs for the record, 'Lost On The River: The New Basement Tapes', which will be released later this year, alongside a documentary, directed by Sam Jones.
The lyrics come from Dylan's famous 1967 'Basement Tapes' sessions.

The Black Keys have slammed Michael Jackson's posthumous album 'Xscape', calling it "bullsh*t".
The 'Fever' hitmakers, who released their new album 'Turn Blue' on Monday (12.05.14), the same day Michael's record came out, aren't impressed by the decision to release the album after his death in 2009.
In the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine, drummer Patrick Carney said: "[It's] some f**king bulls**t that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable.
"Like he had to be dead for three years for it to be released."
Patrick hit out at executive producer LA Reid, claiming he only decided to release the album, which was also worked on by Timbaland and Justin Timberlake, because he "needed a new boat".
Meanwhile, Patrick also voiced his opinion on pop star Justin Bieber earlier this week, describing him as an "irresponsible a**hole after a throw away comment to TMZ resulted in Justin telling his fans on Twitter the musician should be "slapped around".
He said: "Justin Bieber, like a f***ing irresponsible a**hole, sicced 40 million Twitter followers on me because I paid him a compliment he didn't understand.
"He shouldn't be f***ing telling his followers to slap me, and then also be doing anti-bullying bullsh*t. It's so irresponsible.
"Honestly, I feel bad for him. Every single person who works with him should f***ing be embarrassed that they don't. . . No one is doing him any favours, you know?
"And honestly, I don't dislike his music. I don't listen to his music, but he needs to not conduct himself that way. Like, really, you make millions of dollars playing music, you should feel f***ing lucky."

Oscar Isaac hosts 'Star Wars' parties.
The 35-year-old actor was confirmed for the cast of 'Star Wars: Episode VII' last month and he's confessed he can't wait to get started with filming, as he and his family have always been massive fans of the sci-fi movies.
Speaking at a press conference for his new film 'The Two Faces of January' at London's Corinthia Hotel, he told BANG Showbiz: "It's incredibly exciting because I grew up with a family of huge, huge fans.
"My uncle and cousin collect the toys and we'd have Star Wars parties."
The 'Inside Llewyn Davis' star - whose character in the next instalment of the franchise has yet to be revealed - admitted his family couldn't believe it when he announced he'd been offered a role alongside returning cast members Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill.
He added: "So when I told them, they had the biggest nerd-gasm. There was literally nothing I could have possibly said, or will ever say, that can top that."
Harrison Ford will revisit his role as Han Solo while Mark Hamill will return as Luke Skywalker.
'Star Wars: Episode VII' is set for release in late 2015 while 'The Two Faces of January' will be in cinemas across the United Kingdom on May 16.

Kirsten Dunst insists she could've handled working with Alfred Hitchcock.
The 32-year-old actress has been referred to as a "classic Hitchcock blonde" a number of times throughout her career, and although the legendary director of 'Psycho' and 'Rear Window' is known to have had a "creepy" infatuation with his leading ladies, she thinks she would've been able to hold her own on one of his film sets.
Speaking at a press conference for her new film 'The Two Faces of January' at London's Corinthia Hotel, she told BANG Showbiz: "I heard he was a real piece of work, to his women obviously, but I've worked with some real pieces of work in my time and I think I could handle Hitchcock."
The 'Melancholia' star plays the female lead Colette MacFarland in the film adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel, alongside Viggo Mortensen as her wealthy older husband Chester MacFarland.
And although she claims the film definitely has a "Hitchcockian feel to it", she has defended her character's apparent naivety towards her husband's crimes.
She said: "I don't think Colette's innocent. I don't think he [Chester] would be with too innocent of a woman. I think she knows what he does, but she doesn't need to know all of it. I don't think it's innocent, I think it's just turning a blind eye.
"That's something that I think in the '50s was OK and acceptable, 'I don't know what feelings you're having but it's none of my business.'"
