Simon Gregson: Steve ‘gutted’ over Michelle split

Coronation Street's Steve McDonald will be left "gutted" when Michelle Connor breaks up with him.
The brassy barmaid - played by Kym Marsh - calls time on their relationship next week after discovering that Steve knew about Peter Barlow's affair with Tina McIntyre, but actor Simon Gregson thinks the couple should work it out as they've made it through far worse.
Michelle is left disgusted and packs her bags when she learns Steve lied to help cover Peter's tracks, even though he knew the affair would hurt Michelle's pregnant pal, Peter's wife Carla (Alison King).
Simon reasoned: "Michelle has forgiven Steve for much worse than this, but she packs her bags and leaves. Steve tries to tell her that he didn't want to be the one to tear Carla's world apart by breaking the news to her - especially after finding out she was pregnant - but it's no good. He knows that he should have told Michelle at least.
"I just don't think it would be right for this to be the thing that breaks them. Steve would be gutted if it did."
Following Tina's death, Peter (Chris Gascoyne) is named as prime suspect in the murder investigation and Steve realises his neck is on the line, too, after helping provide Peter alibis for his liaisons with Tina.
Simon told Inside Soap magazine: "He ends up pinning Peter up against a wall. Steve has completely lost patience with this guy, who hasn't thought for one second that his actions might have affected Steve and his life."

Lucy Mecklenburgh: TOWIE is cursed

Lucy Mecklenburgh thinks 'The Only Way Is Essex' is "cursed".
The 22-year-old beauty got engaged to her ex-boyfriend Mario Falcone on the ITV2 reality show but has admitted she doesn't think her former co-stars Charlie Sims and Ferne McCann should follow suit.
She said: "Charlie Sims has said he wants to propose to Ferne McCann on 'TOWIE'. My advice to him is don't do it! The show is cursed. Not one engagement has worked.
"I don't think there's any need to rush it either. If you love someone, that should be enough. I made that mistake."
The former reality TV star has advised the couple - who confirmed they'd got back together last week following a number of cheating scandals - to take their relationship one step at a time.
She wrote in her new! magazine column: "I reckon they should let the dust settle after everything and get through another series, as things usually get a bit rocky once filming starts."
Meanwhile, Lucy has admitted she avoids going to Mario's house to visit their dog Bentley because she's still getting over their split.
She said: "Mario has made it clear that I can see Bentley whenever I want, but it's just a bit awkward. I thought it'd be better to leave things and move forward."

Joey Essex to host The Xtra Factor?

Joey Essex is in talks to host spin-off show 'The Xtra Factor'.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star has reportedly been screen-tested to be one of the presenters on the ITV2 show, which follows 'The X Factor' and kicks off in August, as bosses look at a number of options for new stars to front the programme.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Joey has been a big hit for ITV2 and has a lot of fans out there.
"'The Xtra Factor' is all about being big and brash, and having Joey on board would bring a lot of attention.
"But it is an hour-long show that goes live for the performance shows on Saturday and Sundays. Could he handle that?"
Producers are said to be looking at new hosts, including pairing a male presenter with a female star, or having a single female presenter, which could be current host Caroline Flack.
It is thought Matt Richardson, who worked with Caroline on the show last year, will not be returning to 'The Xtra Factor' and bosses have been looking at potential replacements, including Radio 1 DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford and MTV host Laura Whitmore.
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell is said to be close to finalising the judging panel for this year's show, which is rumoured to include former Spice Girl Mel B, who has been given a week to prove her commitment to 'The X Factor' to secure the job.
Mel would join Simon and Cheryl Cole, who are returning to the show this year, along with regular judge Louis Walsh.
A source said: "She is the front-runner for the fourth judging spot but will only get it if Simon is satisfied it will work."

Lucy Kay and Yanis Marshall through to BGT final

Lucy Kay, Yanis Marshall, Arnaud, and Medhi are through to the 'Britain's Got Talent' 2014 final.
The operatic singer, 24, and the French dance group have been voted through to next week's grand final after two impressive performances on the ITV show last night (28.05.14).
Lucy, who performed a rendition of Nella Fatasia, burst into tears after winning the popular vote and described the experience as "overwhelming."
She said: "Thank you so much for voting for me. There's amazing acts I just didn't think I was one of them. Thank you so much!"
The two dance groups in the competition, Cartel and Yanis and his dancers went head-to-head and were put before the judges to pick their favourite.
David Walliams chose Yanis and quipped: "I cannot say no to three Frenchmen in high heels."
Alesha Dixon also chose the troupe, who she described as 'faultless', but Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell both picked Cartel as their favourite act.
The split vote meant it was back to the public to decide and Yanis and co could eventually celebrate after being put through with Lucy to the grand final next Saturday (07.06.14).
Yanis was left stunned after the result was announced and stuttered: "I don't even know yet, I need to, I don't know."
Earlier in the night boyband The Vamps stormed the stage and Alesha's Golden Buzzer picks REAformed performed a stunning rendition of Beyonce's 'End of Time', which wowed the judges.

Leona Lewis wants EastEnders role

Leona Lewis wants a role in 'EastEnders'.
The 'Bleeding Love' songstress recently landed her first movie role in new movie 'Walking on Sunshine' and is eager to continue acting.
Leona thinks she'd be right at home in Walford as she is also from the east end of London - growing up in Hackney.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I love 'EastEnders'. I don't think I'd do anything where I had to be in it for five years, but maybe a cameo role, if I could sing in the cafe or something."
The former 'X Factor' winner previously admitted she was apprehensive to move into acting as she is best known as a singer.
Leona explained to BANG Showbiz: "I was really like, 'I don't know, what if people say she's just trying to get into acting?' My friend was just like, 'It's your life! You should experience as much as possible. Anyone else would jump at the opportunity to do something like this.' So I just wanted to do it.
"It's a whole new world, it's a whole different headspace. That's kind of why I wanted to put myself in it. I was scared about doing it at first, but it's good - it's good to feel that fear and do something you've never done before.

Louis Smith, Nadia Comaneci to judge Tumble

Louis Smith and Nadia Comaneci will judge BBC One's 'Tumble'.
The Olympic gymnasts are among the four panellists who will critique the gymnastic skills of 10 celebrities in the new Saturday night primetime show this summer.
Gymnastics legend Nadia will serve as the show's head judge and will be joined by former 'Strictly Come Dancing' winner Louis, former Team GB gymnastics captain Craig Heap and renowned aerial artist Sebastien Stella.
Nadia said: "The celebrities are going to be put through a fitness, gymnastic and acrobatic training regime that's like nothing they'll ever have experienced, and I can't wait to see the results!"
Louis added: "I know how scary it is to be on a live Saturday night entertainment show, so I'll definitely have a bit of empathy with the celebs on that!"
In addition to the judges, 'The One Show' presenter Alex Jones will host the six-part series and Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle will serve as mentor to the 10 celebrities as they learn a number of gymnastic disciplines such as tumbling and double trapeze.
Alex said: "I am thrilled to be hosting this exciting new show which is sure to offer jaw-dropping stunts and a visual spectacle. No-one has told me yet whether I will be required to don a leotard or master the balance beams but I am willing to give it a go."

Corrie airs Tina McIntyre death twist

Coronation Street's Rob Donovan hit Tina McIntyre over the head with a metal pipe in a surprise twist last night (28.05.14).
Audiences saw Michelle Keegan's character appear to fall to her death after plunging from a balcony during a scuffle in Tuesday's episode (27.05.14), but in a dark twist, the seedy character attempted to silence Tina once and for all with a weapon.
Although Rob (Marc Baylis) offered to call an ambulance for Tina after her fall, the brassy barmaid - who survived the plunge - threatened to tell the police that he had deliberately pushed her, which lead to his frenzied attack.
Tina has now been left fighting for her life in hospital, but she tragically dies in next Monday's double bill (02.06.14) as doctors are unable to save her.
Michelle - who is engaged to former 'The Only Way Is Essex' hunk Mark Wright - has bowed out of the ITV soap after six years playing the the stunning soap favourite and she previously revealed she would be watching her last ever scenes from the comfort of her dad's house.
She said: "That's where I watched the episode when I was first on, so I'm going to watch the last episode with him. It'll be quite emotional."

Coronation Street’s Andrea Beckett is married

'Coronation Street' newcomer Andrea Beckett is secretly married.
The flirtatious brunette, played by Hayley Tamaddon, has worked her way into cab driver Lloyd Mullaney's (Craig Charles) heart since making an appearance on Weatherfield's cobbles six months ago, but a new twist will see her secret husband of 20 years, Neil, come back into the picture next month.
Her cuckolded partner is set to storm into the Rovers Return pub and create a showdown with Andrea's lover.
The comedy reveal on the ITV soap will involve Neil mistakenly thinking Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is his wife's new lover.
He rages: "Is this really who you've left me for? Are you having some sort of breakdown? We have got a beautiful life together and you want to turn it all in for him?"
An embarrassed Andrea replies: "You are making a fool of both of us."
And the situation only becomes more dramatic when Lloyd arrives and declares: "It's me, I'm the one you want to knock out."
While Lloyd is left heartbroken at Andrea's deception, her good friend Steve is furious.
He rants to his girlfriend Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh): "She's been lying to us all for month. We thought she was Andrea from college, Lloyd's missus, my mate - turns out she was some other sap's wife."

Foxes lands Doctor Who role

Singer Foxes has landed a role in 'Doctor Who'.
The 25-year-old singer - real name Louisa Rose Allen - will make her acting debut in an episode of the upcoming eighth series of the hit BBC sci-fi drama.
The 'Youth' songstress will perform a track on the show and appear in a new adventure starring Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor.
She said: "I can't believe I'm actually going to be in an episode of 'Doctor Who'! Especially as it all came about from a chance meeting. I was playing a gig and got chatting to the show's production team who'd been watching my performance. I was telling them how much I loved 'Doctor Who' and next thing they invited me to be on it. I couldn't think of a better place to make my acting debut than on one of the UK's most iconic shows!"
Executive producer Steven Moffat added: "We are completely thrilled that the amazingly talented Foxes is joining us on board ... well, you'll see. Let's just say, the Doctor is finally catching up on his phone calls."
The new series of 'Doctor Who' - which also feature guest appearances from Frank Skinner and Keeley Hawes - begins on BBC One in August.

Amber Heard expects to be typecast

Amber Heard expects to be typecast.
The 28-year-old star - who is dating Johnny Depp - believes women are either treated as sex objects or they play an ugly best friend in movies.
She told W magazine: "As a woman, I usually have two options: Sex Object or the Best Friend Who Isn't Sexy. It's not creatively fulfilling to just be sexy. I did nothing to look the way I look. The genetic cards that anyone is dealt are not in their control, so to take pride in my looks would be a mistake. And besides, in L.A. there's always someone more beautiful!"
Heard was thrilled to find 2009's 'Zombieland' director Ruben Fleischer didn't expect her to play a sexy zombie but she was able to embrace a more gory look.
She added:"I remember getting a small part in the movie 'Zombieland'.
"I said to the director, 'Do I get to play a true zombie or am I a cleavage zombie?' I had this fear that he was going to want me to be a zombie in my underwear! He said, 'No--take it as far as you want.' I said, 'Get the vomit packs ready! I'm going to be ugly and gross!' "

Jourdan Dunn wants to become a Bond girl.
The 23-year-old model, who has dabbled with presenting for Jay Z's Life+Times YouTube channel, now wants to follow in the footsteps of catwalk friend Cara Delevingne by talking up acting.
Speaking at the World Music Awards this week, she told The Sun newspaper: "I'd like to maybe do some comedy, maybe something a bit serious as well. I'd really like to be a Bond girl."
The supermodel, who has worked for Victoria's Secret, Prada and Marc Jacobs, was also spotted at a gala at Cannes Film Festival recently, where she will have mixed with some of the biggest names in the movie industry.
Meanwhile, Delevingne, 21, has also expressed a desire to be cast in a James Bond film alongside hunk Daniel Craig, and has already appeared in a number of movies, including thrilled 'The Face Of An Angel', alongside Kate Beckinsale and Daniel Bruhl.
Talking about her acting ambitions, she said: "A Bond girl would be fun. Are you kidding?! I'd do it."
