Stephen Mangan stunned by celebrity fan

Stephen Mangan was stunned to discover Barry Manilow is a fan of his.
The 'Episodes' actor recently met the legendary musician and was left speechless when he began quoting lines from his hit comedy show, which also stars Matt Le Blanc.
Stephen explained: "I was on 'Graham Norton' this week and Barry Manilow came over and started quoting 'Episodes' lines to me. And the idea that Barry Manilow knows who I am is incredible. It is a really bizarre thing."
The 41-year-old star also won a role in critically acclaimed Hollywood movie 'Rush' - which starred Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl - because the film's director, Oscar winner Ron Howard, was a big fan of 'Episodes'.
He added: "I did the film 'Rush' last year ... that was partly because Ron Howard watched 'Episodes' and loved it."
While Stephen is enjoying his newfound fame following the show's success, he is pleased each season is relatively short because it allows him to take on a variety of other projects.
He told BANG Showbiz: "The great thing about 'Episodes' is that it's two months of my year, unlike other American shows which require your whole year. My best friend Andrew Lincoln is in 'The Walking Dead' and it requires a whole year. 'Episodes', I love because it's two months ... it indulges my short attention span."
Stephen's new film 'Postman Pat' is out now.

David Walliams says Simon Cowell is annoying because he has it all

David Walliams says Simon Cowell is "annoying because he has got it all".
The 'Britain's Got Talent' star has admitted he will be trying to put his fellow judge - and boss - off as much as possible during the contest's upcoming live shows because it's what viewers want to see.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper's We Love TV magazine: "Viewers love seeing him brought down a peg or two. They love him, but they love to hate him too.
"He is annoying because he has got it all. I think that's why Will Young won the first 'Pop Idol' - because he took Simon on.
"If the judges just say their pieces and there is no interaction between them, it's boring. There has to be a dynamic between them, and I think that's the case between us."
David was able to get under Simon's skin during the auditions when he pressed his golden buzzer to put through singer Christian Spridon - much to the horror of the media mogul.
He said: "I like camp acts - and he's very camp. Funnily enough, if people are too talent, I can actually find that a turn-off. I look for who's the most entertaining."

Mila Kunis decorating baby nursery

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have already started decorating their baby's nursery.
The couple, who are expecting a baby girl in October, were spotted picking out several items, including a new crib and a changing table, at Sherman Oaks, California's Juvenile Shop last Sunday (18.05.14) for their new $10.215 million family home in Beverly Hills, which features three bedrooms and four bathrooms.
A source told PEOPLE magazine: "Mila doesn't want a cluttered nursery."
The 30-year-old actress also selected items for her upcoming baby shower after registering at the store.
The insider added: "It's for close friends and family only."
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Ashton, 36, personally broke the news of his impending fatherhood to ex-wife Demi Moore.
A source claimed: "Demi was one of the first people Ashton called when he found out Mila was expecting his first child.
"While that might seem shocking to many given their bitter break up, it's just Ashton's style to inform Demi before the news broke. He was fully aware of how much Mila's news would affect Demi and wanted to be the one to tell her personally."

Dave Grohl inspired by America

Dave Grohl has been inspired by the history of American music.
The Foo Fighters frontman travelled the US interviewing fellow artists from across the nation as part of the band's new album - and accompanying HBO documentary.
He told Billboard magazine: "After making 'Sound City', I realized that the pairing of music and documentary works well because the stories give substance and depth to the song, which makes for a stronger emotional connection.
"So I thought, 'I want to do this again, but instead of just walking into a studio and telling its story, I want to travel across America and tell its story.' "
It means the 'My Hero' hitmaker has been influenced by a range of styles for his group's next album - and their direction will "surprise" fans.
He explained: "As we were coming down from the success of the last record, I thought, 'Now we have license to get weird'.
"If we wanted, we could make some crazy, bleak Radiohead record and freak everyone out. Then I thought, 'F**k that.'
"[The goal is to make stadium anthems that startle. Instead of just] banging out these big choruses, because that's what we do, we're banging them out in the middle of instrumental sections that will take you by surprise. The music is a progression or an evolution, for sure, but it's a Foo Fighters record."

Sofia Vergara splits from Nick Loeb

Sofia Vergara has split from her fiance.
The 'Modern Family' actress has confirmed she and Nick Loeb - who she got engaged to in 2012 - have called time on their relationship after they struggled to balance their professional and personal lives together.
Writing on her WhoSay profile, she revealed: "Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have desided to be apart.
"We have been having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together and becouse of my work and now his, it's been getting worse and worse, not fun anymore.
"We are still very close but we belive is the best thing for us right now. (sic)"
The 41-year-old actress - who has a 21-year-old son, Manolo from her first marriage to Joe Gonzalez - previously spoke in February when the couple were planning their wedding, and admitted at the time they had nothing set in stone.
She had said: We have been engaged for over a year and we still haven't decided what we want to do for our wedding.
"He's letting me handle things and I'm not sure if I want to do something big like I did for my 40th birthday. It was so much fun but takes a lot of time and planning.
"I haven't made up my mind yet but I can see myself doing something very small and intimate with my closest relatives and friends."

Kym Marsh ‘gutted’ at daughter’s Britain’s Got Talent snub

Kym Marsh was "gutted" her daughter was axed from 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The 'Coronation Street' actress was disappointed Emily has not been put through to the live semi finals, despite impressing all four judges - Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon - during her initial audition, which won't be aired.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Emily did a cracking job on the day, but sadly there just isn't enough time to show everyone on stage.
"Kym was gutted Emily didn't make it on screen. She was hoping that appearing on the biggest Saturday night entertainment show would kick-start Emily's showbiz career."
The entire judging panel was blown away by the 16-year-old singer's rendition of 'I Don't Know Why' by Norah Jones.
Simon Cowell had seen a recording of her performance and was very impressed, with the remaining three mentors all voted 'yes' to send her through.
Back in February, Kym took to Twitter to voice her support and wish her "baby" all the best in her audition.
She wrote: "Wishing my baby all the luck in the world today! Too proud of you emz. (sic)"
Kym - who appeared on talent show Popstars and formed band Hear'Say in 2001 - was on hand in Manchester, and Alesha told Emily she has a "fantastic teacher" to guide her through her career.
She said: "You've had a fantastic teacher then, in your mum."
Meanwhile, David praised Kym's daughter for being "so brave" by auditioning for the show despite the pressure of her mum's great success.

Bruce Forsyth felt like a rotting fruit

Sir Bruce Forsyth quit 'Strictly Come Dancing' because he felt like a rotting fruit.
The veteran entertainer - who announced he was leaving the show earlier this year - made the decision because he was becoming "stale" and didn't want to fade while performing.
He told The Sun newspaper: "You do start to feel a bit stale, like a bit of fruit you've put in a bowl. You look at it one day and think, 'Oh - that's going off'.
"There are many reasons why I packed it in, but one was that I didn't want to do this series and suddenly in the middle of the show say, 'I can't do it anymore'. I would have hated that."
Bruce, 86, also admitted while he loved the programme, he did find it tough to host the ballroom dancing competition.
He explained: "I always used to say that I worked just as hard as the show dancers did.
"I had to announce each couple, run upstairs for their dance, rush down to talk to the judges, rush upstairs for the scores, rush down to introduce the next pair.
"If there were 16 couples I would do that 40 or 50 times a show ... When you are working the adrenaline gets you through. I never came off asking for an oxygen mask. But I knew at the end of the last series it would be the end for me."

Kimberley Walsh doesn’t want ‘spoilt’ baby

Kimberley Walsh doesn't want her baby to be "spoilt".
The former Girls Aloud singer is expecting her first child with boyfriend Justin Scott and despite her fame and success, she is determined to raise her child to be down-to-earth.
She said: "It's going to get so much love, but I'm going to make sure my baby's not spoilt. My upbringing was very different to the life I have now, so I'll keep things down-to-earth."
The 'Sound of the Underground' hitmaker is particularly concerned that her friends and former bandmates Nicola Roberts and Cheryl Cole will be over-generous towards her little one.
She added in her column for Britain's OK! magazine: "Nicola said in an interview that she cannot wait for me to have the baby so her and Cheryl can go crazy buying presents. They've actually started already. even though I've told them I don't want any clothes until the baby's born.
"It's sweet they're so excited. We grew up together and they're such good friends that they'll feel like aunties. I showed them the latest scan and they both said they already love the baby, even though they haven't met it yet.
"I'm thinking I might have to rein them in at some point. Perhaps it's a good thing I don't know the sex - they can't buy as much."

Cheryl Cole ‘really happy’ with French boyfriend

Cheryl Cole is "really happy" with her new French boyfriend.
The couple started dating over a month ago, before making it official at Cannes Film Festival over the last week and it is said the former Girls Aloud singer is delighted to be in a relationship with Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "She's really happy. They're an item and Cheryl is ready to find love again.
"After a difficult few years, she wants to get back out there and start having some fun. Things are going brilliantly in her professional life - she has a new song out soon and can't wait to return to 'The X Factor'.
"But at the end of the day she wants to be in a relationship because that is what will make her really happy."
After the couple appeared at glitzy showbiz parties at the annual film festival - and also dined at his luxury restaurant Cosy Box - the two stars were said to be one of the "most electric" celebrity pairings at the event.
An insider said: "There's great chemistry between them. They have been the most electric couple in Cannes."

Katie Price’s best friend dumped by husband

Katie Price's cheating best friend has been dumped by her husband.
The former glamour model was left heartbroken when she discovered Kieran Hayler had been sleeping with Jane Pountney, and the affair has had its toll on her pal's marriage too.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, an insider said: "He would have been able to forgive a few slip-ups but this ended up being so much more.
"He is shocked that the woman he loved would hurt so many people, including him."
Meanwhile, it is said Katie sees the end of her former friend's relationship as karma after the breakdown of her own marriage as a result of the affair.
A source added: "Katie's view is that Jane will end up with nobody - sad and alone.
"She feels terrible for Derrick but wants Jane to suffer some of the emotional pain that she has gone through. In her view, this is the ultimate case of Karma."
The star sees the whole incident as a serious "betrayal" by two people she trusted - and she took to Twitter yesterday (23.05.14) and hinted at the pain she's going through.
She tweeted: "This has been the case - 'The saddest thing about betrayal is it never comes from your enemies.'"

Paul McCartney’s wife Nancy never left his side

Sir Paul McCartney had Nancy Shevell by his side for four days in hospital.
The legendary musician was taken ill by a mystery virus on Tuesday (20.05.14) and it is said his wife has made sure she has "never left his side" since arriving at St Luke's International Hospital, Tokyo.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Nancy has been brilliant and has never left his side ... [Paul is] getting better and better by the day."
The 71-year-old rocker has also postponed a show in Seoul, South Korea, but is still set to continue with his tour of the US next month.
Speaking outside the hospital, fans were happy to hear the Beatles icon was making a recovery.
Shinichi Noguchi said: "The shock was huge when I heard the two concerts, which I had tickets for, were cancelled.
"It's good to hear that he's recovering and I'll be happy if he can come to Japan again in the near future."
The 'Hey Jude' singer is reportedly "upset" about the situation as "he has only ever had to reschedule a handful of shows in his entire career" and hates disappointing fans.
An earlier statement from Paul on his website about the cancellations reads: "I'm so very touched. Unfortunately my condition has not improved overnight.
"I was really hoping that I'd be feeling better today. I'm so disappointed and sorry to be letting my fans down."

James Mc Avoy insists on hair extensions

James McAvoy insisted on wearing hair extensions in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'.
The Scottish actor is a keen enthusiast of the 1970s - in which the new film is set - and was so determined to authentically portray his character, Charles Xavier's style during the era, he asked producers to give him extensions to create a free-spirited, long-haired look.
He said: "As my wife will attest, the Seventies is my favourite decade.
"I was like, 'Yesss!' I f***ing love the way I look in this film.' It's the only time I've ever done that in my whole career."
The 35-year-old star also revealed how he was left exhausted after playing four characters with psychological issues back-to-back.
He told Radio Times magazine: "There was a lot of mental illness that year. My character in 'Trance' has had his mind molested. Bruce in 'Filth' and Macbeth are both raving mental cases. Even in 'Welcome to the Punch' I'm dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder.
"By no means is 'X-Men' as balls-out as those films or Macbeth, but I'm glad that Fox and [director] Bryan Singer afforded me the chance to go somewhere quite interesting with a part in a $200 million movie.
"Charles is effectively a junkie who's denying who he is. I've spent over a year now exploring skewed mental states, and this is the easiest I've found it."
