Rik Mayall's widow has called for "thoughts and prayers" from fans as he is buried on Thursday (19.06.14).
The late 'Bottom' comedian will be laid to rest in a private funeral later this week and his wife Barbara Robbins has urged fans to join family and friends in saying goodbye to the star, who tragically passed away on June 9.
She said: "Knowing the swell of love you all share with us we would like to let you, the fans, know that we will be having a private family funeral for Rik, as I am sure you will understand.
"We will be burying him at 2pm on Thursday, June 19, if you would like to join us in thoughts and prayer at this time.
"Thank you again for all your love and support to all our family, it brings great strength."
Fans of the legendary comic have rallied to pay tribute to 'The Young Ones' star in the week following his death.
On Sunday (15.06.14), Rik's 2010 World Cup song 'Noble England' - which failed to chart upon its initial release - entered the UK singles chart at number seven after a social media campaign.
Meanwhile, a new petition has called for a memorial bench to be installed in west London's Hammersmith Broadway, where Rik and comedy partner Ade Edmondson filmed the famous title sequence to BBC sitcom 'Bottom'.
The clip sees Rik's character, Richie, punch Ade's Eddie in the groin while they sit on a park bench.

True Detective creator’s ‘secret list’ for new cast

'True Detective' creator Nic Pizzolatto has a "secret list" of A-listers he wants to star in the second season.
The 39-year-old producer has revealed that only he knows who is in the running to follow in the footsteps of Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson by appearing in the next series of the hit HBO detective drama.
Speaking at the Banff World Media Festival, Nic said: "I've talked to one person about [casting] possibly, and that has been it.
"We haven't cast anybody. I have a secret list and that's it."
Despite a number of big Hollywood names - including Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain and Brad Pitt - being attached to the lead roles, Nic insists that no major decisions about the cast have been made.
He said: "Literally, not a single rumour about casting has any truth to it whatsoever."
However, the producer did confirm that the new season will include female lead but will not be "female-led".
'True Detective' proved a huge critical success when it began airing in the US earlier this year, but stars Matthew and Woody only signed up for one season.
The show is billed as an 'anthology' series and will feature a new cast and all-new characters each season.

Resident Evil 6 to be last film in franchise

'Resident Evil 6' will be the last film in the franchise.
The futuristic thriller, speculatively titled 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter', is very likely to be the final ever instalment of the Milla Jovovich-starring series, according to director Paul W.S. Anderson.
Probed about the significance of the movie's name, Anderson confirmed: "That's what's on the title page. It's 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter', so absolutely."
The filmmaker is still in the middle of writing a final script and isn't yet sure when it will be ready for production.
He told Collider.com: "There are no set dates for shooting yet. I think we're waiting until we have a first draft screenplay and then go from there.
"I don't know [when it will be in theatres]. Depends how fast I write, I guess. There's no set date yet but hopefully we'll have an announcement for that soon."
The post-zombie apocalypse series follows Jovovich's character Alice as she takes on a shady Umbrella organization and is one of the most successful video game adaptations of all time.
Following the first film's release in 2002, its popularity has only grown, with 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' grossing a massive $300 million worldwide.

Steven Seagal doesn’t like Expendables stars

Steven Seagal won't star in any of 'The Expendables' films because he doesn't like some of the people involved.
The 62-year-old star has famously rubbished the idea of ever joining the star-studded cast of the ensemble action films and he's now revealed the reason behind the decision.
Quizzed on why he'd never appeared in the film series, he said: "I just didn't like some of the people involved."
'The Expendables' stars Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Jason Statham and Jet Li while Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger joined the cast for 'The Expendables 2'.
Although the cast of the upcoming third instalment 'The Expendables 3' has added even more names, including Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes and Harrison Ford, Seagal insists he's still not interested.
He told The Big Issue: "Life is too short to work with funny people."
However, the 'Under Siege' star has confirmed that he would consider putting together his own team of action heroes for his own production.
Quizzed on whether he'd thought of assembling his own team to take on 'The Expendables', he said: "That might happen. I like Jason Statham. I like Jet Li, people like that."
Stallone - who directed the first film in the series - has previously admitted to disagreements with Seagal in the past.
He said: "Steven Seagal said he 'didn't associate with that kind of element' - meaning me. So I slammed him up against a wall."

Tony Bennett: I thought Gaga would be bigger than Elvis

Tony Bennett thought Lady Gaga was going to be "bigger than Elvis" when he first heard her sing.
The jazz singer, who teamed up with the 'Applause' hitmaker to surprise more than 700 students with a music master-class in New York yesterday (16.06.14), admits he was blown away by her talent when he was introduced to her music.
Speaking at the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens, he said: "When I first heard Gaga sing my reaction was that she is going to be bigger than Elvis. She is so bright and intelligent and she has it. In jazz you either got it, the syncopation, the rhythm or you don't, and when I heard Gaga I said, 'She's got it!'"
Tony, 87, founded the school in 2001 and it has gone on to become one of the most successful performing arts centres in the city, helping to nurture talent and create future stars.
Gaga, 27, also gushed about the legendary singer and told students: "When I am with Tony I feel like I am 15 years old at home listening to Ella and Coltrane records.
"The way he sings is effortless and so prolific. It's so liberating to be able to sing jazz, especially at this point in my career!"
The pair performed a number of classic American songs during the surprise session, including 'The Very Thought of You' and 'Every Time We Say Goodbye'.
They then serenaded each other and danced to 'I Can't Give You Anything But Love'.

Cher treated in hospital for foot injury

Cher has spent time in hospital to receive treatment for a chronic foot injury.
The 'Believe' hitmaker, who has been touring North America with her 'Dressed To Kill' shows, has had a long-suffering foot problem for a number of years after breaking a bone while working out.
Cher was taken to hospital yesterday (16.06.14) where she was given a painkilling injection to help her through her energetic live shows.
The star told fans about her trip to hospital on Twitter, posting: "On way 2 hosp 2 get shot in toe joint (sic)... Oh bliss oh joy ! Had 1 about 6 months ago & it helped a lot ! Not much fun, but everything can't be. (sic)", later adding, "I'm here... Yuck."
She reassured fans by telling them: "It should be fine, but most young girls (like me) aren't running around stage 4 shows a week. (sic)"
Discussing the injection she also explained to her followers: "Calms down toe & takes pain away. Hope it works this time. You have 2go under special machine so dr.hit s EXACT SPOT.YUCK. (sic)"

Olivia Wilde pokes fun at Daniel Craig

Olivia Wilde claims Daniel Craig is terrible at paddleboarding.
The 30-year-old actress fell in love with the surface water sport while filming 'Cowboys & Aliens' alongside the buff British actor, 46, in 2011, but says he wasn't very good at it because he was "too muscly".
She told Oprah Winfrey's O magazine: "While shooting 'Cowboys & Aliens' in New Mexico, Jon Favreau taught Daniel Craig and me how to paddleboard on a lake. Daniel sank because he was too muscly, but my girl parts helped me balance!"
She added: "Jon gave me a board as a parting gift, and it's become a lovely pastime - like surfing with training wheels."
The brunette beauty, who has two-month-old son Otis with fiancé Jason Sudeikis, also revealed she loves collecting blazers and miniature objects.
She said: "Miniature objects, anything tiny: furniture, cameras, trees - all of which you'll find scattered around my home. 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids' is everything I could dream of in a film."
Olivia got engaged to the 'We're The Millers' actor in January 2013, but they postponed their wedding after she got pregnant.
She previously insisted they were in no rush to get married, saying: "It's funny, people tend to skip over the engagement thing. They think it's like, 'oh, engaged.' And then you get there. I don't think you should spend your entire engagement planning a wedding. Because it's fun. It's this great time. It's like dating-plus."

The-Dream: Assault claims are false

The-Dream insists allegations he assaulted his former girlfriend are false.
The 36-year-old producer is being investigated over claims he attacked his former girlfriend Lydia Nam - who was eight months pregnant with their son at the time - at the New York Plaza Hotel in April 2012, but he has suggested his ex-lover made up the allegations to get money from him.
Asked about the allegations, he told TMZ: "Of course they are [false], I'm such a lovely person.
"They all told me, 'You got this much money, just know somebody will always want it.' It will [all work out]."
The songwriter - who wrote hits such as Justin Bieber's 'Baby' and Rihanna's 'Umbrella' - was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court last month and charged with assault, strangulation, harassment and reckless endangerment but was allowed to leave after posting $20,000 bail.
After leaving court, The-Dream - whose real name is Terius Nash - said: "I have nothing to say. It'll all come out. There are worse things in the world going on".
An attorney acting for the star told the judge his client was innocent and the accusations - which were not reported until November 2013 - stemmed from civil litigation and child support disputes.
However, police said the alleged victim didn't report the attack until so long afterwards because she was in fear of her life.
According to the criminal complaint, the songwriter "punched and choked" his then-girlfriend and threatened to kill her "like O.J. Simpson killed Nicole Brown."
The complaint further detailed that the producer allegedly pulled and dragged Lydia by the hair, twisted her necklace tightly around her neck to choke her, kicked and punched her in the head and grabbed her by the neck, pinning her to the wall and choking her again.
It was previously claimed friends of The-Dream - who also has a four-year-old daughter, Violet, with ex-wife Christina Milian and three other children with first wife Nivea - believe Canadian Lydia is a "vengeful woman" who has made the claims in order to extend her US visa.

Kourtney Kardashian throws Scott Disick out

Kourtney Kardashian threw Scott Disick out at the weekend.
The couple - who are currently renting a property in the Hamptons while filming 'Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons' - had a furious row about his constant partying, which led to the 35-year-old brunette ordering his long-term partner out of the house on Saturday (14.06.14).
Kourtney - who is pregnant with the couple's third child - is said to be especially upset with Scott as when he drinks he often gets into arguments with other people.
Despite the row, friends of the pair insist it won't mean the end for the couple - who have four-year-old son Mason and 23-month-old daughter Penelope together - as they regularly get into arguments over the same topic.
A source told website TMZ: "Same old s**t. They fight, get back together, he parties, she doesn't like it."
It is unclear whether Kourtney has allowed 31-year-old Scott back into their house yet but she sent him a message via Instagram on Sunday (15.06.14), which was Father's Day.
She wrote: "Thanks for being a loving daddy more than anything else."
It is believed part of the argument was caught on camera for their reality show.
