Selena Gomez's grandfather has confirmed she is secretly battling lupus.
The 'Come & Get It' hitmaker was previously the subject of rumours she had the disease, and her family have now admitted she was diagnosed with the auto-immune condition "a couple of years ago" but has her symptoms under control.
Her grandfather Ricardo Gomez said: "She's in treatment. She's getting along pretty good."
Earlier this year, Selena - who has an on/off relationship with Justin Bieber - checked into rehab and her elderly relative is desperate for her to now follow medical advice and take a break from her career.
He told RadarOnline.com: "We just saw in some newspaper that she was doing drugs. I called her and said, [you] need to watch out ... She was working a lot. She was exhausted. She hardly takes some time out. There was some pressure, first because it's a lot of work.
"The doctor was telling her she needs to take some time out It's just too much pressure what she's going through. It's just too much! She doesn't have a single day's break ... It's getting to the point with all this pressure ... that it's too much.
"Everyone was telling her, even her agent and the doctor, 'Selena take some time to yourself!' "
And Ricardo - who hasn't seen his granddaughter since last November - also claimed the former Disney star is keen to give up her pop career.
He added: "She was saying she don't want to sing no more, she just wants to be an actress ... but she's going to combine it, it looks like."

Gunnar told the website he will show his client "no mercy" and plans to put him through an hour of high-intensity full body exercises, cardio and resistance training every day.
He added: "Rob is locked and loaded."
It was previously claimed the 27-year-old star - whose over-eating began following his break-up from Rita Ora in 2013 - allegedly got into an argument with Kim over her lavish wedding extravaganza, which he branded "superficial bulls**t".
Things kicked off between the siblings during a lunch at designer Valentino's Château de Wideville in Crespières, France, and Rob headed for the airport shortly afterwards.
An insider said: "Rob is not in a good place right now at all and his family should be very worried about him. He was embarrassed to go to the wedding in the first place because of his weight gain and to be ridiculed by Kim and basically rejected has put him over the edge."

Since becoming a mother she admits her priorities have changed and she's going to be more "specific" about the roles she takes on.
Emily explained: "I think I'll be very specific about what I do because it does switch your focus and everything in me just wants to be with her right now so it'll be interesting."
Emily has been getting used to sleepless nights taking care of the little one and insists she'll look better than her co-star Tom Cruise when they finish their day in New York.
She added: "That's why I'm actually going to be in better shape than anyone else on this 24 hour whirlwind because I'm used to no sleep. Tom [Cruise] will look terrible by New York!"

A source told the new issue of Us Weekly magazine: "Hayden is totally pregnant!"
The 24-year-old actress - who got engaged to the 36-year-old athlete last year after a three-year on/off romance - previously admitted she was keen to start a family and felt like she was "born" to be a mother.
She has said: "I've lived a very big life, and I don't feel my age, and I feel like I was born to be a mother. Sometimes people speak about [having kids] like, 'Your life ends - you're never going to be able to do anything again!' And I'm like, 'What are you talking about?'
