Sinitta claims Simon Cowell has started saying "soppy things" since he became a father.
The singer, who once dated the music mogul and is godmother to his and Lauren Silverman's four-month-old son Eric, insists he can still be "crazy" at times but he is more relaxed these days and is showing his softer side.
During an interview on 'This Morning' today (26.06.14), Sinitta explained: "He has - I won't say mellowed - because he is still naughty and crazy, but he's just very open, very tender. I'd always known that side of Simon anyway, but everybody else is getting to see that now.
"He'll say soppy things and then apologise and say, 'That was a bit soppy' and then go, 'Oh, who cares'. It's really sweet."
Sinitta admitted she loves watching her friend dote on his son because they are so transfixed with one another.
She said: "Eric has blue eyes, dark hair - amazing. Simon is very tender [with him], he's fascinated ... he literally holds him and stares at him and sticks his tongue out and Eric will imitate him back. I'm fascinated watching him with Eric."
Sinitta previously admitted that she felt hurt and betrayed when she first found out Simon was going to be a father but she insists her feelings have changed and she has come to accept it.
Sinitta - who had a termination when she was dating the 'X Factor' boss - said: "We all survived and we're all happy. Eric is adorable and I'm godmother to Eric as well so that was lovely and I think like all good friendships, we've just kind of weathered the storm and kept going..."
When asked if Simon has mentioned having more children with Lauren, the mother-of-two said: "He has actually! Not to me, Lauren said that he wants more children - he wants a little girl next so we shall see! Its nice to have two."

Britain's Prince Harry was reduced to tears while meeting Brazilian orphans.
The royal revealed during a reception honouring Queen Elizabeth in Sao Paulo last night (25.06.14) that he couldn't hide his emotions when he visited Acer, the Association for Support of Children at Risk, and spoke to disadvantaged youngsters who had lost parents to drugs, violence or prison.
According to the Daily Telegraph, he said: "I was completely overwhelmed and shocked. I've never blubbed in public as far as I can remember but I was pretty damn close. It was amazing to hear those stories.
"It seems ridiculous for me to say to these kids how lucky and fortunate they are considering their situation. Obviously they are far from that. But I am only too aware by listening to their stories how many other kids there are like this that aren't as fortunate as them."
Harry also explained how meeting the children brought back memories of losing his own mother, Princess Diana, aged just 12, and he was especially touched by the story of two sisters who were being cared for by their grandmother because drug-dealing father was in jail and their mother had been murdered.
His voice wavering, the 29-year-old royal recalled: "There are two little girls - I'm quite emotional - just looking at them I wanted to talk about my own experiences. But there is no point because it is just so far removed. The bravery of them looking at me, smiling at me ...
"I wanted to use my own experiences in a very small way to try to give them a bit of understanding about the fact that I see what you're going through. But you hear the stories and think that's nothing to what they have been through."
Acer was set up by Jonathan Hannay to help underprivileged children in Diadema, Sao Paulo.
Britain's Queen Elizabeth is set to appear on 'Antiques Roadshow'.
The 88-year-old monarch and her husband Prince Philip met with the BBC One show's team of experts for an appraisal of some of their most treasured royal heirlooms during their three-day visit to Northern Ireland.
The queen proudly showed off her antique collection at her official residence of Hillsborough Castle, near Belfast, where the discussions were filmed as part of a special episode of the long-running series.
Philip was keen to find out when the scenes would air, with the queen chiming in as she signed the visitor's book, "If it is in August then even better because we might have a chance to see it."
Among the items on show was a bronze sculpture of a horse and jockey by French artist Pierre Jules Mene, thought to be of the 1863 Derby winner Macaroni, a George IV library, an 18th century Chinese soup tureen and five figurines from a Meissen monkey orchestra, the BBC reports.
The royal couple spent about 10 minutes with experts before hundreds of people gathered to have their own items valued for the special episode.
