Ant and Dec thought their careers were dead after 'Byker Grove'.
The TV duo admitted being dropped from the children's TV show in 1993 after four years was a definite "low" - but it ended up being an opportunity to push themselves further than they imagined at the time.
Asked what their lowest point was, Declan Donnelly told Digital Spy: "Probably the low, and we didn't know at the time it was happening for a reason, was when we got told we were leaving 'Byker Grove'.
"We were 18 and we were told that we would be too old to be hanging about a youth club. We were told that the only 18-year-olds who hang around youth clubs are pretty weird.
"As far as we were concerned, it was all over. We thought we were on the scrapheap at 18 and we were going back to college. Obviously, in the end it worked out alright."
The stars went on to have hugely a successful career together, and claimed the pinnacle was 'Saturday Night Takeaway' winning two prizes at the British Academy Television Awards earlier this year.
The show picked up the gongs for both Best Entertainment Programme and Best Entertainment Performance - and it marked their 25th year as a TV partnership in a fitting way.
Dec said: "Because it's been 25 years, it felt extra special."
Ant McPartlin added: "And because it was for 'Saturday Night Takeaway' and we'd been away and rested it for four years, to bring it back and get it nominated and win was really special. It was a really special year."
Eamonn Holmes has an "unhealthy obsession" with Ruth Langsford.
The 'This Morning' host is the "jealous" type when it comes to his wife - who presents the show alongside him every Friday - and admitted she "fascinates" him.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "I have this unhealthy obsession with Ruth, and I love being around her.
"I actually get quite jealous when anyone is taking her time away from me.
"When I'm alone with her and I have her totally to myself, there is no-one else I want to be with. She fascinates me."
Indeed, the 54-year-old star is still madly in love with his wife of four years and still finds himself thinking about how lucky he is when the they are on the air together.
Asked whether their partnership reaffirms their romance, he recently told new! magazine: "Yes and sometimes it's nice to sit back during an interview, while chats are going on back and forth between Ruth and the guest, and I'll think, 'She's gorgeous and she's my wife - I'm married to her!' "
Guillermo Del Toro is planning to make a "really bizarre" movie.
The 49-year-old director is looking to fit in the time to make a "strange little" film in between completing his haunted house horror 'Crimson Peak' and starting work on the 'Pacific Rim' sequel.
He told Collider: "Right away, in February / March I should start on another very small movie, black and white, really, really bizarre.
"We start pre-production on Pacific Rim 2 in August, and then I interrupt it briefly to go into the first of next year to do this strange little movie, and then I restart it and go all the way until we start shooting at the end of 2015 for release in 2017."
While he refused to give away much other than the project will have "one great creature", Del Toro is already eyeing a cast for the mystery movie.
He said: "It's a very small cast. I would love to have John Hurt, and there's an actress that I have in mind that is not well known but I've seen her in a short film. That's all she's really done, one feature and one short, but she has an incredibly interesting taste and I'm gonna try her out for the main role."
Mark Ruffalo claims his singing has put women off dating him.
The actor stars opposite Keira Knightley in new romantic comedy 'Begin Again', set in New York City's musical scene, but won't be showing off his own vocal skills on camera any time soon.
The '13 Going on 30' star admits his phobia stems from the time he went on a disastrous date with a girl who dumped him after hearing his strange "dork" singing.
He told London Live: "I was having a date with a girl and I thought it was going very well so I put on some music, The Police, and she was liking that and I started to sing along. And then I realised she was just staring at me.
"Then just out of her mouth came, 'You're... such a dork'. I don't think she realised she'd said that but that was the last time I ever went out with her."
Mark also revealed he attempted to sing in the movie, but it was axed by producers for everyone's sake.
He revealed: "I did sing in the movie but it was cut out. I think it might have been that bad. And I'm terrible at karaoke. I don't like it. It's not a pleasant experience for me. Or the audience."

Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino is being sued by his lawyer.
The former 'Jersey Shore' star and his brother Marc Sorrentino allegedly owe Richard Wolfe $29,000 in unpaid legal fees from 2009 to 2013 and the attorney has filed a legal complaint to obtain the money back.
According to the lawsuit, which has been obtained by website TMZ, the brothers managed to pay off $10,000 of their bill but have made failed attempts to pay the remainder, including with a $2,000 cheque which bounced and another for the same amount which was cancelled.
The lawyer is seeking the $29,000, plus damages for the bad cheques.
The legal row comes weeks after police were called over unpaid wages to the reality star's tanning shop employees.
Four staff members from Boca Tanning Club in Middletown, New Jersey alleged their paycheques had bounced and each employee was owed between $100 and $200.
However, after officers spoke to The Situation's brother Frank and warned criminal charges could be filed, the disgruntled employees received all the money they were owed.
Insiders insisted at the time there had been an "innocent mix-up" because the store changed payroll companies.
Kendra Wilkinson plans to discuss her marital troubles on her reality show.
The former 'Girls Next Door' star is reportedly set to follow in Tori Spelling's footsteps by covering the scandalous breakdown of her relationship with her husband Hank Baskett on her TV show, 'Kendra on Top'.
The former NFL star is alleged to have cheated on Kendra - with whom he has children Hank IV, five, and Alijah, two months - with a transsexual model called Ava Sabrina London when she was eight months pregnant with their daughter.
A spokesperson for WE TV confirmed to Us Weekly magazine: "We are currently in production on season 3 of 'Kendra on Top'. And yes, we are covering her reality."
Producers apparently arranged a counselling session for the ex-Playboy model and Hank so they could vent their frustrations, during which things went from bad to worse.
The insider said: "Kendra was crying and Hank was kind of being a jerk, looking very p***ed. She was talking divorce."
Meanwhile, Kendra's ex-boyfriend Hugh Hefner has allegedly reached out to her, offering his support.
This comes just a few months after former 'Beverly Hills 90210' actress Tori aired her heartbreak for the world to see in the wake of her husband Dean McDermott cheating on her last December.

Justin Theroux says his relationship with Jennifer Aniston "doesn't feel difficult".
The 42-year-old actor is engaged to the 'Friends' actress and admits that he doesn't understand reports that say they don't have a smooth relationship because of the time they spend apart.
He said: "It doesn't feel like a hardship, it doesn't feel difficult."
'The Leftovers' star can't understand why people are so desperate to know about their relationship and thinks it's bizarre that paparazzi are willing to do anything to get a picture of them together.
Justin told the latest issue of Details magazine: "It can be an annoyance, but it's not the end of the world.
"You have to centre on what its core thing is, which is that you met someone you fell in love with. It's hard to explain. I just find myself wondering, 'What's the big f**king deal?"
Justin - who met Jennifer on the set of their 2012 film 'Wanderlust' - also revealed that he feels as though he's better off not speaking about their relationship at all because what's printed is "always based on fiction".
He continued: "You just kind of ignore it but then you also become reluctant to say anything about the relationship.
"I could say, 'Everything's good', and then it's reflected back as, 'JUSTIN THEROUX: EVERYTHING'S GOOD?' That just creates this echo chamber, and it ricochets around the internet, it just gets wacky."
