Taylor Lautner was attracted to nudity in Cuckoo

Taylor Lautner was "attracted" to 'Cuckoo' because of its nudity and swearing.
The 22-year-old hunk - who plays Dale 'Cuckoo' Ashbrick, Jr. in the BBC Three show - was drawn to the crude sitcom when he heard foul language, vomit and pooping in a bathtub would be involved.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: "I knew you guys [the UK] could get away with much more than we can in the US but even so, I was shocked!
"That's one of the things that attracted me -- there are so many less restrictions than we deal with in America.
"The writers were getting away with lots. I was very surprised but it is one of the things that I enjoyed most."
Taylor's alter-ego turns out to be the son of Cuckoo (Andy Samberg), but after he is tragically killed in the Himalayas while taking part in a mountain trek, Dale is forced to move in with Cuckoo's reluctant in-laws Ken and Lorna (Greg Davis and Helen Baxendale).
Dale is the 'Twilight' actor's first comedy role and he admits he was initially worried about taking on such a humorous part, but settled in quite quickly.
He explained: "I wouldn't say I was confident about comedy at first but I wanted to give it a shot. I knew I would be surrounded by people who knew what they were doing so that would be a huge help -- and that's exactly how it turned out. I couldn't have been luckier."

Robin Windsor quit Strictly Come Dancing over wheelchair fears

Robin Windsor would have ended up in a wheelchair if he hadn't quit 'Strictly Come Dancing.'
The professional dancer made the heartbreaking decision to leave the BBC One show after a slipped disc in his back left him paralysed for three days.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: "I have a slipped disc in my back and the nerve is exposed, causing agonising pains shooting down my leg.
"A week ago I was paralysed on the floor of my friend's house as the pain was so bad. I was there for three or four days.
"I couldn't risk going ahead [with the show]. It was a heartbreaking decision but I had no choice. If the slipped disc had popped out while I was dancing, I could have ended up with permanent nerve damage and been in a wheelchair."
The 34-year-old hunk - who has been part of the line-up since 2010 - is determined to return to the competition next year because he doesn't want to leave permanently without winning the show at least once.
He explained: "Injuries go hand in hand with working as a dancer. I have to listen to my body. Now I'm just going to have my operation and focus on getting better for next year. I have to come back because I haven't won the glitterball trophy yet."
Meanwhile, Robin danced his way into the semi-final with former 'Emmerdale' star Lisa Riley in 2012, but only managed to make it to the fifth week with 'Dragons' Den' investor Deborah Meaden last year.

Peter Capaldi wants to be daredevil Doctor

Peter Capaldi is determined not to be an "old Doctor" and has performed most of his own stunts for 'Doctor Who'.
At 56, Capaldi is one of the oldest actors to take on the role of the titular Time Lord but despite his advanced age he has thrown himself into the action side of the sci-fi series.
In an interview with Shortlist magazine, Capaldi revealed: "I took Matt Smith to lunch before we started and he came in on crutches. I said, 'What happened to you, mate?' And he said "It's this show..." I was just, 'He's younger than me, what am I going to do?' But it's been fine, I try to keep myself fit and healthy and I enjoy it. I've done a lot of running up and down corridors - I don't want to be an old Doctor just standing in the corner with the young people doing all the action for me."
Capaldi particularly enjoyed one high-wire stunt which made him feel like he was the Doctor and Superman at the same time.
He said: "One day I was on wires falling through the air - well, skydiving. People kept worrying about me, asking if I was OK. I was loving it, I didn't want to get down - it was like being nine, because you don't normally get to play Doctor Who and Superman at the same time. How many other guys get a chance to do that?"
Capaldi has been a fan of 'Doctor Who' since childhood and he believes the appeal of the show - which celebrated its 50th anniversary in November 2013 - is that it's like a fairy tale.
He also accepts the myriad of monsters have a strong appeal to viewers.
He said: "To me, it's (the show's) a fairy tale. It embodies some key human desires - the desire for people to escape when their life is crappy. When things are going wrong, it would be very nice if you had a blue box you could use to disappear to another world. People love monsters, as well. There are very few shows with monsters in them, surprisingly - people like men in rubber suits."
Capaldi makes his debut in 'Doctor Who' in the episode 'Deep Breath' which airs on BBC One on August 23.

Helen Wood planning reality show

Helen Wood is planning to start her own 'The Only Way is Essex'-style reality show in Manchester.
The 'Big Brother' contestant - a former escort famous for participating in a threesome with England footballer Wayne Rooney in 2010 - thinks a similar type of programme in north west England is required because the stars of 'TOWIE' have become too "boring".
Speaking about the ITV2 reality show, she said: "The girls are boring, it's a bit stale.
"They really need one in Manchester. We've got Geordie Shore and The Valleys, it is time for Manchester. It would really be so entertaining!"
The 27-year-old star has clearly put a lot of thought into getting the project off the ground as she has already planned which Manchester nightspots could be featured, picking out clubs such as Panacea.
A source close to the brunette beauty - who won a pass to the final of the Channel 5 show earlier in the series - admitted Helen believes the goings-on in Manchester will be much more appealing to viewers than what happens in London.
She added: "Helen loves all that stuff. She always watches 'TOWIE' and 'Made In Chelsea' and reckons what goes on in Manchester is far more interesting.
"Hopefully she can get her idea off the ground once she leaves the 'Big Brother' house."
Helen has caused controversy in the house with a number of foul-mouthed rants, but she is hoping her 'Big Brother' experience will enable her to start such ventures as a new reality show.
She added: "If something comes out of it, it's a massive bonus. If it doesn't, I've still got the experience."
Helen, who was booed when she entered the house, recently revealed she fears leaving the house because she expects everyone to "hate" her.
She said: "I knew what I was walking into, but I think more people hate me now. I don't know why I'm moaning, I cheated my way into this position anyway. So I can't moan.
"I'm going off how the public think and that's what I have to do."

Miley Cyrus sings karaoke

Miley Cyrus sang at a karaoke bar on Tuesday (05.08.14).
The 21-year-old singer entertained late-night drinkers at Sing Sing bar in New York when she, along with her mother Tish, performed a few songs for a group which included Sky Ferreira, but she put on such a good display that it was hard to find anyone else to take to the stage.
A source said: "No one in the crowd wanted to follow her."
However, 'Not Fair' singer Lily Allen - who is opening for Miley on her 'Bangerz' tour - eventually took the mic to perform a few songs too.
Towards the end of Lily's set, Miley heard her own song 'Wrecking Ball' being played in another room - so she went to join the revellers.
The source added to the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "She surprised the group there by jumping onstage."
Miley's karaoke trip came hours after she visited her tattoo artist Bang Bang and they gave one another matching inkings
The 'We Can't Stop' hitmaker had the tattoo artist etch a crescent moon on her left inner-arm, while she then returned the favour and inked the design onto Bang Bang's thumb.
And the inking session didn't end there, as the singer also opted to pay homage to the Flaming Lips by having the words 'Love Yer Brain' - the title of a 1987 song by the psychedelic rockers - etched onto her right forearm.

Samantha Harris helped by children

Samantha Harris' daughters have been "helpers" during her recovery from breast cancer.
The 40-year-old presenter - who has children Josselyn, six, and Hilary, three, with her husband Michael Hess - underwent a double mastectomy in May and says her kids have been "really good" throughout her ordeal.
She told E! News: "They were both really good about it. They were helpers, they brought me things, they checked on me - and we just continually assured them that, 'Mommy's going to be in bed for a little bit, but then I'm going to be fine.' "
The former 'Dancing with the Stars' host is now readying herself for a second stage of reconstructive surgery later this month.
She said: "And I'm like, 'Let's go, let's do this thing!' "
Samantha wasn't diagnosed with the disease for months after first finding a lump and despite her concerns being dismissed by doctors, she refused to "take 'it's nothing' for an answer".
Asked why she was so persistent, she said: "The fact that it was still there after four months from finding it, this lump that I found -- clear mammogram, 11 days later found a lump.
"I thought, if I have to live with this lump, whatever it is, I need to know it's nothing."

Katie Holmes almost landed OITNB role

Katie Holmes almost took the lead role in 'Orange is the New Black'.
The former 'Dawson's Creek' star was approached by creator Jenji Kohan to play Piper Chapman - the bisexual drug-smuggling prisoner played by Taylor Schilling - in the Netflix drama but turned it down because she had other commitments.
Jenji told E! Online at a show event in Los Angeles: "I'm a big fan of hers. You know, I met with her."
"[Katie] had other things to do. And also in the beginning, no one knew what this was."
While she initially turned down the programme, the cast of the drama would love Katie to make a guest appearance on the show.
Asked who Katie could play, Taylor said: "[Katie] could be friends with Lorna or like Lorna's Boston sister."
And Kate Mulgrew - who plays Red - joked the brunette beauty would have to be careful if she did end up behind bars at Litchfield Prison.
She said: "She better watch herself. Pretty girls have to watch out in prison."
'The Giver' actress - who has eight-year-old daughter Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise - recently admitted she is a big fan of 'Orange is the New Black' and would be interested in a cameo role.
Asked if it meant she could show off secret body art, she laughed: "No, I don't have any tattoos. My child would kill me."

Mathew Knowles teaches students to be like Beyonce

Mathew Knowles will teach people how to be like Beyonce.
The showbiz patriarch - who used to manage his famous daughter - is running a training course called, 'The Entertainment Industry: How Do I Get In?', where he will lecture students on how to break into show business.
Held at the Houston Community College in Texas, USA the £200 seminars will start from September.
For an extra £100 classmates can have a meet and greet with Mathew himself.
The 63-year-old music executive and record producer was in charge of his Grammy Award winning daughter's career for over 20 years.
Beyonce left his management in 2011 shortly after it was revealed that Mathew had fathered a secret child with Alexsandra Wright.
Later that year, he launched the girl band From Above in the industry after signing them to his label Music World Entertainment in 2008.
Unfortunately, the ladies did not enjoy the same success as Beyonce's girl band, Destiny's Child, as they failed to make the UK Top 40 Music Chart with their debut single, 'Not The Same Girl'. From Above later auditioned for the UK version 'X Factor' but didn't get past the boot camp stage.

The Legend of Conan to begin filming next spring

Filming for 'The Legend of Conan' is to begin next spring.
The news has been confirmed by the movie's producer Fredrik Malmberg, who revealed the finishing touches are currently being put to the script for the much-anticipated blockbuster.
He said: "We want to polish up the script, specifically about the characters but don't think it will take long.
"We'll probably have this turned in around September after the holiday and then we'll take it to the studio and if they're happy, we can hopefully start in the spring."
The new movie is likely to see Arnold Schwarzenegger, 67, reprise the role he played in the 1980s.
Schwarzenegger has repeatedly stated his desire to appear in the role that first brought him to international fame.
He starred in 'Conan the Barbarian' in 1982, which was a huge hit at the box office, and he also appeared in 'Conan the Destroyer' in 1984.
Arnie - the former governor of California - and Malmberg are both hopeful he will be handed the opportunity to reprise the character.
Meanwhile, Malmberg also revealed that potential directors are currently being considered, ranging from "old great names" to "new fresh faces".

Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno wants to produce Kanye West’s next album

Kasabian want to produce Kanye West's next album.
The rock band's chief songwriter Serge Pizzorno, 33, is keen to team up with the 37-year-old rapper for his eighth studio album because he believes their talents combined would create some "insane" music.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "I'd love to produce Kanye West, because the results would be insane. He's such a different talent to mine that I've no idea how our songs would sound, but you just know they'd be interesting.
"I've never been a traditional songwriter coming up with stuff on an acoustic guitar. How our music sounds is as important as the song itself, and if I ever get time I'd love to see what I could do with other musicians."
Meanwhile, the group - also consisting of Tom Meighan, Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews - believe their recent album '48:13' has proved they're capable of coming up with something new and shocking their fans.
Serge explained: "'48:13' has redefined Kasabian. What can people say against us now? It's idiocy to try to throw hackneyed old phrases like 'lad-rock' at us.
"Seeing '48:13; get to No 1 after releasing a polarising single like 'Ee-Zeh' proved we can experiment and leave people going: 'Wow!' We've proved we can go anywhere and try anything after this album, and that's what every musician dreams of.
"The most exciting thing about Kasabian at this moment is that none of us have a clue what we'll do next."

Maroon 5 to perform at 2014 MTV VMAs

Maroon 5 are to perform at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The pop rock band will make their first ever appearance at the event on August 24 to perform a track from their forthcoming album 'V'.
Frontman Adam Levine said: "We are so excited about our upcoming new album and to be part of the great VMA lineup this year.
"It is our first time doing the show and we are thrilled to be on it performing our new single."
The group will join already-announced acts Ariana Grande, Usher and 5 Seconds Of Summer on the stage at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
Beyoncé leads the nominations at this year's glamorous event with eight nods - including Video of the Year and Best Female - while Eminem and Iggy Azalea are right behind her with seven.
Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Jay Z, Pharrell Williams, Lorde, Jason Derulo, Pitbull, Sam Smith and Hayley Williams have also received multiple nominations.
Meanwhile, Maroon 5's performance comes three years after Adam took to his Twitter account to slam MTV for pretending to "care about music."
He tweeted at the time: "The VMAs [are the] one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I'm drawing a line in the sand. F**k you, VMAs.

Duchess Catherine among best dressed

Britain's Duchess Catherine has been entered into Vanity Fair's Best Dressed Hall of Fame.
The 32-year-old royal - who has 12-month-old son Prince George with husband Prince William - along with designer Karl Lagerfeld and retail tycoon Stacey Bendet joined the publication's coveted list, which features those who have appeared on the magazine's International Best Dressed list multiple times.
Previous inductees include Queen Elizabeth, Coco Chanel, Sofia Coppola, Giorgio Armani, Kate Moss, David Beckham and David Bowie.
The appointment to the Hall of Fame comes as the duchess - who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage - was named on the International Best Dressed list for the fifth time.
In a brief profile for the list, her "notable ensemble of 2014" was
the bright red Catherine Walker coatdress she wore on her royal tour of New Zealand in April.
And Catherine wasn't the only royal to make this year's list.
the King of Bhutan was one of three "originals" recognised, while Denmark's Crown Princess Mary and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands were also praised for their sartorial selections this year.
Other famous faces on the list included Cate Blanchett, Lupita Nyong'o, Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Firth and his wife Livia.
