Pippa Middleton sells her bike for charity

Pippa Middleton is selling her bicycle for charity.
The 30-year-old socialite - the sister of Britain's Duchess Catherine - is auctioning her Race Across America Dassi 6.2 Aero road bike on eBay to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
The brunette beauty and her team of eight completed the Race Across America, a 3,020-mile coast-to-coast journey, in June in the hope of raising funds for the BHF and the Michael Matthews Foundation.
The auction began last Sunday (03.08.14) and will end on Wednesday 13, with the proceeds being split between the two charities, along with the £20,000 Pippa has already raised as part of the challenge.
She said in a statement: "The challenge of riding across the Rockies, coping with the heat of the Arizona desert and climbing over 170, 000 vertical feet in the six days was incredibly tough, but every inch of the 3,000 mile race was worth it, to help the BHF fight heart disease.
"I wanted to complete this challenge to help raise awareness of the importance of heart health after learning that coronary heart disease kills nearly three times more women than breast cancer.
"So whether you're inspired to get fit or you're a cycling fanatic wanting to add to your bike collection, take a look at my bike and put in a bid. I'm keen to raise as much money as possible to help the BHF fund life-saving heart research."

Terry Gilliam confirms filming date of The Man Who Killed Don Quixote

Terry Gilliam has confirmed shooting for 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote' will start shortly after Christmas.
Gilliam, 73, has been trying to make the film - inspired by Miguel De Cervantes' 17th Century Spanish classic Don Quixote - for some time, and it now finally appears to have been given the go-ahead.
He told TheWrap.com: "I keep incorporating my own life into it and shifting it. The basic underlying premise of the version Johnny [Depp, who was due to star in the film] was involved in was that he actually was going to be transported back to the 17th century.
"And now it all takes place now, it's contemporary. It's more about how movies can damage people."
Gilliam - a member of the 'Monty Python' comedy troupe - added: "I've done it so many times - or not done it so many times - I'll believe it when I see it. However, I'm behaving as if it's all going to happen as planned."
Casting for the film is ongoing, and Gilliam refused to divulge any secrets as to who may appear in the film when it finally hits cinema screens.

Status Quo’s Rick Parfitt to resume tour next week

Status Quo's Rick Parfitt is expected to return to the stage next week following his recent heart surgery.
The 65-year-old rocker underwent a major operation to have a stent fitted after he was taken ill earlier this week, but he's hoping to make a rapid recovery and perform with the rest of his band mates at Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire, next Friday (15.08.14).
The group's manager, Simon Porter, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We are all obviously delighted Rick has made such rapid progress, especially as the band is shortly to unveil another exciting and innovative new project, details of which will be announced in the next couple of weeks."
Rick, who has battled with drugs and alcohol in the past, was airlifted to Royal Brompton Hospital, South West London, on Monday (04.08.14) after he became unwell on the band's tour bus in Pula, Croatia.
Status Quo were forced to scrap six dates of their European tour following the health scare.
Meanwhile, this isn't the first time the guitarist has undergone a major operation as he had a heart bypass in 1997 after doctors warned him that his wild partying could kill him.
Rick resides in Spain with his wife Lyndsay Whitburn, 54, and six-year-old twins Tommy and Lily.

Charlie Simpson to form band with brothers

Charlie Simpson is forming a band with his two brothers.
The 29-year-old musician and his musical older siblings Edd and Will intend to release an album together under the name Once Upon A Dead Man and have already started writing songs as a trio.
Charlie is very excited about making music with his brothers because the three of them are so close.
He told BANG Showbiz: "My two brothers are in bands and we've been talking about doing a project together called Once Upon A Dead Man. We're just starting to write songs, although it's probably a couple of years away.
"I think that it's going to be a great thing to do. My brothers were the best men at my wedding and we're the best of friends and we've always wanted to do a project together so that will be really exciting.
"They're my two older brothers. One of them is in a band called Union Sound Set, they've just releases their second record. And my other brother Will was in a band called Brigade and he's now performing in a new band called More Dangerous Animals that do a lot of rock stuff.
"It's amazing to be able share my love of music with my brothers, when we all go home all we ever talk about is music. It's a great thing to be able to share that with your brothers, we're so close."
Charlie - who has just released his second solo album 'Long Road Home' - says he and his brothers want to make an electronic-sounding LP but they are still yet to finalise their sound.
The former Busted star - who is playing The Roundhouse in London on October 14 - explained: "We're toying with it being an electronic record because we don't want to make something that sounds like anything we've done before individually. If you've heard the 'Drive' soundtrack I want it to be something like that, and we're all big fans of The Postal Service.
"We want it to be something that's melodic but that has an electronic element to it. We haven't quite figured it out yet, we've written two songs so far that I think are really cool but it's a case of us trying to find out what the sound is going to be."

Helen Flanagan to release underwear line

Helen Flanagan wants to release an underwear line.
The former 'Coronation Street' star is keen to create her own lingerie collection, but she doesn't want her name to be linked to the brand because she's worried people who don't like her won't want to buy her designs.
Speaking in the new issue of FHM magazine, she said: "I want to have my own underwear brand. I've always been obsessed with Agent Provocateur because I think it's so classy, but also so cool, quirky and creative.
"It's really inspired me. I literally have the entire Agent Provocateur collection. I own everything they have."
She added: "I've been trying to find the name for ages - I have a few ideas that I'm working on. I won't have my name in the brand, because then people that don't like me won't buy it. And I can't have that, because people either really like me, or they really don't."
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old beauty - who flaunts her curvaceous figure wearing a tiny pair of bikini bottoms in the magazine - recently admitted she wanted to be less sexy and more natural.
She said: "I'm scaling back my sexy look. I used to wear lots of make-up, fake tan and fake eyelashes, but I've decided that less is definitely more. Now I love to use make-up to contour my face and make the most of my natural features."

Adam Garcia is ‘pretty good’ in bed

Adam Garcia has claimed he's "pretty good" in bed.
The 'Got to Dance' judge, 41, believes he's got a talent when it comes to getting jiggy beneath the sheets, but is remaining tight-lipped on who the lucky lady is.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I'm pretty good in the sack ... I'm currently seeing someone, and yes, it's serious. Someday I would like children."
Adam's co-judge Ashley Banjo, on the other, has been with his beau Francesca for almost a decade and credits her for helping him remain level-headed throughout his rise to fame on ITV's 'Britain's Got Talent' with his dance troupe Diversity in 2009.
He explained: "I've been with my girlfriend for nine years. It's crazy. She's known me since I was a kid. She's been there throughout the whole transition and keeps me grounded."
Meanwhile, the 'Got to Dance' panel - who is completed by former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt - are on the hunt for the best dance act to win the prize fund.
However, the show this year will not only see the talented dancers go head-to-head, but also the judges, who have to pick their favourite acts and mentor them.
Adam said: "There was a point when we were competing against each other for the same acts and I got a bit upset when Ash or Kim got the acts I wanted. We have to pitch ourselves to the acts we want. We have to directly outsell each other."
Meanwhile, 'Got to Dance' will return to TV screens for the fifth series tomorrow (09.08.14) on Sky 1 at 8pm.

Verity Rushworth’s Emmerdale exit was therapeutic

Verity Rushworth found her 'Emmerdale' exit therapeutic.
The 28-year-old actress, who returned to the show earlier this year, will bow out of the ITV soap next week when her alter-ego Donna Windsor dies, and Verity admits the tears she's cried during the emotional scenes have helped her deal with the departure.
She told SoapSquawk.com: "It's the end of an era, I grow up with the show and it felt like going home. It feels weird that it's completely, definitely, over for me.
"I had a break, which was lovely, and now it feels like I've gone full circle and it's completion. I feel like I have had therapy because of all the crying, it's like I've released all this emotion and now I'm ready to let it lie."
It is unknown whether Donna, who is suffering with Mesothelioma, will lose her battle against lung cancer or whether her dodgy dealings with Ross Barton (Michael Parr) will tragically cut her life short.
However, Verity - who played Donna for 11 years between 1998 and 2009 - admits the final scenes will be extremely dramatic and heart-wrenching for viewers.
She said: "It's very full on and she's going through turmoil. It's the big build up!"

Helen Mirren loo roll lie to Oprah

Dame Helen Mirren lied to Oprah Winfrey that her house was undergoing renovations to hide the fact she had no loo roll.
The 67-year-old actress was "embarrassed" when Oprah - who produced her new movie 'The Hundred-Foot Journey' - came to visit her at home, and insisted on entertaining her in the garden to avoid admitting the fact she was missing some household essentials.
She said: "Oprah came to my house, which I was very embarrassed about, because it's quite likely she would have landed in the loo that didn't have any loo paper.
"I had to say, 'I'm really sorry, we're having renovations on the house. Would you mind if you just don't go inside?' I was so embarrassed by what she might see."
While 'The Queen' star admitted she isn't very fashionable, she confessed to adoring "stripper shoes" such as the high-heeled clear platforms she is often spotted in on the red carpet.
She told USA Today newspaper: "I'm not very fashionable, but I love fashion. My stripper shoes are great. They're my secret weapon. They're not so secret anymore. It means I can look Nicole Kidman in the eye. I've got two pairs of them. It's always the same ones."

Gordon Ramsay sued for $6m by landlord

Gordon Ramsay is being sued for $6 million.
The celebrity chef is the subject of a claim from the former landlord of his failed Los Angeles restaurant The Fat Cow, who claims he has skipped out of his $52,000-a-month long-term least in The Grove shopping centre, TMZ reports.
The lawsuit is the latest in a string of legal woes to hit the 'Kitchen Nightmares' star over the restaurant, which closed in March.
The eatery closed following a long battle with a Florida restaurant owner who claimed to have exclusive rights to the 'Fat Cow' name, and Gordon is also being sued for $10 million by his business partner Rowen Seibel for shutting down the restaurant over the branding dispute.
In his civil suit, Rowen alleged the 47-year-old chef ran the restaurant like a "dictatorship" before "secretly shutting down" and reopening on his own under the name GR Roast.
His legal documents claimed: "Ramsay attempted to run the business and make decisions on behalf of [his partners] similar to his television personality on 'Hell's Kitchen' - as a dictatorship.
"Instead, in a dramatic money grab and breach of his fiduciary obligation to Seibel, Fat Cow LLC and FCLA, Gordon Ramsay began taking steps to secretly shut down Fat Cow Restaurant, using the trademark issue as his straw man excuse, and open a new restaurant at the premises without Seibel."
Representatives for the 'Hell's Kitchen' star later hit back and accused Rowen of "spectacularly mismanaging" the eatery.
They said: "We're surprised that Mr. Seibel has the audacity to file this ridiculous suit when he and his team were responsible for the day to day running of The Fat Cow and spectacularly mismanaged it resulting in a string of financial and legal issues.
"Gordon Ramsay and his team immediately stepped in and tried to resolve these issues, but Seibel refused to engage in any meaningful conversations, rendering the restaurant unsustainable."

Robert Pattinson’s knock-out blow

Robert Pattinson "almost knocked" himself out while filming 'The Rover'.
The 28-year-old actor admits he came very close to badly injuring himself while shooting the opening scene of his new movie 'The Rover' alongside his co-star Guy Pearce last year.
Speaking to a small audience at a Meet The Filmmakers event at the Apple Store, Regent Street in central London, he explained: "I like to do anything that allows me having to not act at all, so our first scene when Guy's throwing me around with the car, I actually almost knocked myself out, letting myself go."
The British star plays a young southern American hunk named Rey in the "dark and dirty" Western, who fled to Australia 10 years before following an economic crash.
Robert wasn't "entirely sure" what accent he had developed for the role, but insists dialect is the first thing he thought about when he was offered the part.
He said: "I spent a lot of time thinking about the character, 10 or 11 months from the audition, so before we started it was fairly close to me.
"With this one, I started with the voice. Trying to find little vocal patterns, gimmicks, coming up with a subtext, and creating little twerks."

Elizabeth Hurley’s porky problem

Elizabeth Hurley has appealed to her fans to help her name two pigs she has been given.
The brunette actress - who turned 49 years old on June 10 - took to her Twitter account to post a picture of her new pair of porkers gifted to her as a belated birthday present, but after struggling to come up with monikers for her hefty hogs, she has asked her 460,000 followers for help.
In a message attached to a picture of her sizeable swines, she wrote: "These sweethearts are coming to live with me soon. A belated birthday present from a dear friend. Help with names? (sic)"
One Twitter user, who uses the handle JamesJourn, came up with a particularly clever pork-based suggestion to name her prized piglets after the actors Kevin Bacon and Jon Hamm, in a comical nod to the bacon and ham references in the stars' monikers.
He wrote: "Surely they've got to be called Kevin Bacon and Jon Hamm? #porkers (sic)"
Another Twitter user made reference to one of Elizabeth's former partners Hugh Grant, suggesting: "Hugh Grunt?"
One comical tweeter poked fun at another of Elizabeth's exes, Shane Warne, by suggesting she could name one of the huge hogs after the retired cricketer.
He wrote: "One should be Shane....for sure! (sic)"
Elizabeth's request even attracted celebrity interest as E.L. James - who wrote the hugely successful 'Fifty Shades of Grey' book, which has since been turned into a film - wrote: "Block and Tackle?"
The idea clearly made the 'Austin Powers' star laugh as she replied: "Ha Ha. good luck with the movie. Can't wait to see it xx (sic)"
Following the many suggestions, Elizabeth returned to the social networking site to thank her fans for their ideas before going away to think carefully about her big pig decision.
She tweeted: "Many thanks for all your suggestions for naming my little piggies. I'll let you know the verdict."
