Lady Gaga would ‘rather be fat than shallow’

Lady Gaga says she'd "rather be fat than shallow."
The 'Bad Romance' hitmaker - who previously admitted her weight fluctuates because of her love of Italian food - lashed out at critics of her figure after photographs of her in a flesh-coloured swimsuit attracted some negative comments on Instagram.
The 28-year-old star captioned one of the images, taken in Dubai: "#bodyrevolution Proud at any size, because the inside is what really counts. Plus, it's all how you pose! Just ask the supermodels!"
After receiving support from a fan on Twitter, she replied: "Id rather be fat than be shallow (sic)"
When another fan wrote: "I honestly can't imagine receiving comments about my weight everyday. How insulting and degrading. Also gaga is perfect so back off," the blonde beauty responded: "all day long every day, so what if I got a belly sometimes, sometimes I don't. There's people starving in the world. #whocares"
The 'Applause' hitmaker, who also recently insisted she is "curvy and proud," previously admitted she used to battle with an eating disorder.
She said at the time: "I have struggled with an eating disorder for over 10 years and I take that very seriously, I take the struggle of others very seriously."
But earlier this year, she claimed she had overcome her troubles.
She said: "I am better with food. I don't have an eating disorder anymore. I'm also better at not letting people take advantage of me. Five years ago, when I spotted someone with a hidden agenda, I allowed them to stay around me... I speak up now. I realised that it's my own fault that people take advantage. I should be around people who cherish my talents, my health, my time ... I'm an artist. I deserve better than to be loyal to people who only believe in me because I make money."

Sofia Vergara ex-fiancé disses her style

Sofia Vergara's ex-fiancé wants to find a "more classic, elegant" partner.
Nick Loeb, who was dumped by the 'Modern Family' actress in May after four years together, admits he isn't a fan of star's sexy style and claims he's not surprised she is now dating Joe Manganiello.
The 39-year-old businessman told the New York Post: "He's a great-looking guy. I guess if I was a girl, I'd be dating him, too."
Asked what kind of woman he is looking for, he responded: "I'm sort of a conservative, so I like a girl to dress a little classier."
He also said he isn't looking for someone who dresses like Sofia, explaining: "No, I've always sort of liked the more classic, elegant look on a woman."
But it could be a case of sour grapes for Nick, as a source close to the brunette beauty, 42, previously claimed she felt the failed politician "used" her to boost his own business and ended their romance because she thought he was trying to take advantage of her fame.
The insider said at the time: "It really embarrassed Sofia."
Another source said: "He's always trying to use her success to make himself successful. I think she's finally started to see him as the opportunist he really is."
Sofia - who has a 21-year-old son, Manolo, from her first marriage to Joe Gonzalez - started dating 'Magic Mike' hunk Joe, 37, in July and recently gushed: "I'm very happy romantically. It couldn't be better!"

Broadway to dim lights for Joan Rivers

Broadway will pay respect to the late Joan Rivers tonight (09.09.14).
The marquee lights of all 40 theatres in New York City will be dimmed for one minute in honour of the Tony Award nominee - who died last Thursday (04.09.14) after being taken off life support after suffering a cardiac arrest during a routine operation on her vocal chords - following a U-turn decision by The Broadway League.
The organisation announced the news on Twitter, saying: "All Broadway Theatres will #Dim4Joan tonight at 6:45pm."
In a statement, the league's Executive Director, Charlotte St. Martin also said: "Joan Rivers loved Broadway and we loved her. Due to the outpouring of love and respect for Joan Rivers from our community and from her friends and fans worldwide, the marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in her memory tonight, at exactly 6:45pm for one minute."
The decision comes after fans started a petition and vented their frustration on Twitter after the league previously claimed that, unlike other recent honourees Robin Williams and Lauren Bacall, the 'Fashion Police' host, who starred in 'Sally Marr...and Her Escorts' in 1994, did not qualify for the posthumous tribute, a long-standing tradition in the theatre community.
Charlotte previously said: "Under our criteria people need to have been very active recently in the theater, or else be synonymous with Broadway -- people who made their careers here, or kept it up. We love Joan -- she was very supportive of Broadway and came to a lot of show openings -- but she hasn't acted on Broadway in 20 years."
Prior to the league's reversal, seven theatres announced they planned to independently dim the lights in honour of the late comedienne, 81.
A number of Broadway stars attended Joan's funeral on Sunday (07.09.14), including Audra McDonald, Hugh Jackman, Bernadette Peters, Alan Cumming and Tommy Tune.

Ashley Tisdale marries Christopher French

Ashley Tisdale has got married to Christopher French.
The 29-year-old actress, who got engaged to the rocker in August 2013 when he proposed on the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building in New York City after just eight months of dating, tied the knot in a low-key ceremony on Monday night (08.09.14).
The former 'High School Musical' star announced the news on her Instagram profile today (09.09.14), sharing an image of herself and Christopher on their special day, with the caption: "Best day of my life! Introducing Mr and Mrs French Sept 8, 2014"
The bohemian-chic beauty wore a traditional white dress with capped sleeves and a crown of flowers on top of her head.
Ashley's best friend and former co-star Vanessa Hudgens, who helped her celebrate her bachelorette party in Miami in May, previously revealed she was going to be a bridesmaid at the event.
She said: "Of course I'm going to be a bridesmaid!"
The 25-year-old star also gushed about Ashley and Christopher's relationship, saying: "I think they just inspire each other. They're just great, I love him for her!"
In December, Ashley spoke about how "natural" and easy her relationship with Christopher was from the very beginning.
She said: "I've obviously been in long relationships in the past. But I think because of knowing what I wanted, I wouldn't have gone into a relationship if it wasn't what I wanted. I think from the moment that him and I met, I just knew it. I was like, 'Ok this is the guy,' and he knew the same thing. It doesn't get any better. I just can't explain it."
The actress also previously revealed she and Christopher were planning to have a "small" and "private" wedding.

Britney Spears: Zoe Saldana is having twins

Britney Spears has confirmed Zoe Saldana is expecting twins.
The 32-year-old singer, who ran into her former 'Crossroads' co-star at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Monday (08.09.14), accidentally let slip that rumours the pregnant actress and artist husband Marco Perego are set to welcome two babies are true.
Asked whether she would like to film a sequel to her 2002 film with Zoe, the blonde beauty told 'Entertainment Tonight' while unveiling her new lingerie collection in New York City today (09.09.14): "Who knows? That's a very good idea. But she's pregnant with twins right now. So I'm sure she's got a huge future ahead of her."
Asked if she had any advice for the 36-year-old star, the 'Perfume' hitmaker, who has sons, Sean Preston, eight, and Jayden James, seven, with ex-husband Kevin Federline, joked: "You're not ready. You don't know what you're in for."
Zoe - who has been sporting a baby bump for some time - only confirmed she is pregnant to avoid doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge last month.
The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star has frequently defended Britney in the past following her public breakdown in 2008.
Earlier this year, she said: "She was the one big, big celebrity that I met when I was starting to work in Hollywood who literally was humble. I do believe that people and children gravitate to good energy, and she's definitely an abundance of that."

Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry expecting first child

Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry are expecting their first child together.
The 'Talk' co-host, who married the singer-songwriter in March, shocked her colleagues, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Aisha Taylor and Julie Chen, by revealing she is pregnant on the show today (09.09.14).
The former 'Roseanne' actress, who already has son Levi, nine, and daughter Sawyer, seven, with ex-girlfriend Allison Adler, was supposed to face her fear of having a cinderblock broken over her stomach, as part of the show's Face Your Fears segment, but pulled out at the last minute, confessing: "I actually can't do it, because... I'm pregnant."
Her co-hosts immediately started jumping and cheering, suggesting this was the first time they had heard the news.
Sara then added that she had been "really tired" during her first trimester, but said that now: "I feel good, I feel really good."
The 39-year-old star started dating Linda in 2011 and they exchanged vows in a low-key ceremony in March in front of a small number of guests, including actress Juliette Lewis.
The former 4 Non Blondes singer, 49, who has penned hits for Christina Aguilera, Pink and Gwen Stefani, proposed during a romantic music-themed picnic in April 2012.
Sara previously said: "I'm sitting there listening and I'm kind of daydreaming and I'm thinking like, 'If I ever proposed to her this would be an amazing way to do it.' The people picnicking next to us pull out string instruments from under the blanket, walk over and they start playing 'Love Song.'
"She goes to her backpack and she pulls out these T-shirts and the first T-Shirt says 'will' and then puts on another T-shirt and it says, 'you,' then 'marry,' 'me.' It was the most amazing proposal ever."

Ashton Kutcher is making ‘dry-runs’ to the hospital

Ashton Kutcher is determined to make sure the birth of his first child goes "smoothly."
The 'Two and a Half Men' star, whose fiancée Mila Kunis is expecting a baby girl imminently, is reportedly "not leaving anything to chance" and has driven to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Beverly Hills several times to see how long it takes to get there from their nearby $10 million home.
A source told E! News: "Ashton has made a couple dry-runs to the hospital to see exactly how long it will take them to get there. He's preparing for all scenarios and not leaving anything to chance. He wants everything to go smoothly!"
The insider added: "Mila's in the homestretch and they are both very excited. It could happen any day now."
The 'Black Swan' actress, 31, and the 36-year-old actor are staying close to home as their baby's due date approaches, but Mila has been frequently spotted attending Pilates classes.
The insider said: "They have put the finishing touches on the nursery. It's all ready for the baby to arrive. They are just waiting."
The couple also enjoyed a dinner date in Los Angeles on Sunday (07.09.14).
An insider previously said: "Mila is so excited about the baby. She's not nervous at all. She's been really calm and chill about it all."

Ciara excited about 2014

Ciara says 2014 will be her "best year yet".
The 'Goodies' singer recently announced she is engaged to producer and rapper Future and is also pregnant and she can't wait for all the changes in her life.
She told Us Weekly magazine: "This will be the best year yet. I'm doing things I've looked forward to my whole life; building a family, walking down the aisle and sealing the deal with my true love."
Ciara added Future - real name Nayvadius Cash- has been very supportive the whole way through her pregnancy so far.
She added: "[He] has been the sweetest partner. He's been to every doctor's visit and held my hand the whole way. [And] I've been stealing his jeans!"
The couple plan to marry later this year and Ciara is heavily involved in planning the big day.
She has said: "I think I'll be part bridezilla, I'm not going to lie. But I want to be a happy one. I still want it to be a fun process, but I want the dress to be perfect, I want the cake to be perfect, I want the food to be perfect. We're both looking forward to it."

X Factor’s Sam Callahan: Robbie would be better than Gary

Sam Callahan thinks Robbie Williams would make a "better" 'X Factor' judge than Gary Barlow.
The former contestant - who received weekly criticism from Gary over his mediocre performances in last year's competition - would have preferred his Take That bandmate be part of the show instead.
Sam explained to BANG Showbiz: "Robbie Williams would be pretty cool, he'd be pretty good. I mean he's the opposite to Gary. He's a real showman and entertainer.
"Robbie's been an idol of mine since I was little, he's an absolute entertainer. It's not like watching anyone else. As a judge I think he would be better for me."
Sam even offered some career advice to Gary - who announced he was leaving the show during last year's competition - believing he would be better suited as a judge on rival BBC show 'The Voice'.
Speaking at the launch of charity event We Day earlier this week, he said: "I think Gary would be good on 'The Voice' because it's about the vocals, because that's what he's always banging on about. But 'The X Factor' is about having the X factor - the full package, and that's what I went there to do."
He added: "At one point he gave me some criticism that was just literally, you know, negative. When you moan at me for one thing you have to think about the whole thing."
We Day, and educational programme We Act, is coming to the UK on March 7, 2014.

Geri Halliwell wanted for Eurovision Song Contest

Geri Halliwell is wanted to represented the UK in this year's 'Eurovision Song Contest'.
The former Spice Girls singer is topping the BBC's list of performers they'd like to compete in the annual competition, and it is said they are now hoping she will accept the offer.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Geri seems like a perfect fit for 'Eurovision'.
"She's up for a laugh and not afraid to camp things up - it's now a case of whether she is as up for it as the BBC is.
"If she wins she would be hailed as a legend but if she doesn't score highly it could be another embarrassing moment."
The final of the annual event - which sees singers from across Europe compete for their country - will be hosted by last year's winners Denmark and take place in May, and the BBC insist a decision hasn't yet been made on who will represent the UK.
A spokesman said: "The BBC is passionate about our involvement in the 'Eurovision Song Contest' and we are collaborating with creative experts across the UK music industry to select this year's entry.
"A decision has not been made. We will make an announcement in due course."

Celebrity Big Brother’s Sam Faiers rushed to hospital

Sam Faiers has been rushed to hospital after a major health scare on the 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The reality TV star was taken ill for the second time during the current series and had to be taken out of the house after suffering an allergic reaction to an unidentified substance which made her face swell up.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, a source said: "This is serious.
"Sam is really struggling. It's why she hasn't been featured as much in the highlights as she would have if she was fully fit."
It is said the experience has become "a nightmare" for the 24-year-old beauty, and it is not known whether she will be able to make it to the final on Wednesday (29.01.14).
An insider added: "The poor girl. Going on 'Celebrity Big Brother' was like a dream come true for her but the whole experience has been a nightmare because of illness.
"There are still five days to go to the final. Questions are being asked over whether she should maybe leave on health grounds."
Meanwhile, a Channel 5 spokesman confirmed: "While Sam was out of the house she was accompanied at all times by a member of staff who ensured that contact with the outside world remained at a minimum."

Simon Cowell close to announcing X Factor return?

Simon Cowell will confirm his 'X Factor' return "very soon".
The media mogul is line for a sensational comeback as he hopes to get the UK version of his popular talent show "back to its best" and it is said he has told many of the team he will be back as a judge for the next series.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, a source said: "Cowell is determined to get the show back to its best.
"He'll sign the deal very soon but has told the team that he's on board. Everyone's over the moon."
According to the reports Simon, 54, is planning to move back to the UK with his pregnant girlfriend Lauren Silverman as the two look to settle in his home country.
The insider added: "His primary home will be in London, although he will keep his LA residences.
"Lauren will also move over here but split her time between London and New York where her son is based."
While bosses at 'The X Factor' US were keen for the talent show boss to balance both shows, he will be focusing on the UK version.
