FKA twigs ‘disgusted’ by racist abuse

FKA twigs has been left "shocked" and "disgusted" after she was targeted with racist abuse since she started dating Robert Pattinson.
The 26-year-old singer - whose real name is Tahliah Barnett - has taken to her Twitter account to claim she has been inundated with horrific comments in the past week after confirming her relationship with the 28-year-old hunk.
She wrote: "I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week."
The star added: "Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it's unacceptable online."
Last week, Robert was said to have "fallen hard" for his new girlfriend following his split from Kristen Stewart, his girlfriend of five years.
A source said: "Rob is falling hard for Tahliah. He's just enamoured with her beauty, creativity and confidence. He hasn't felt this way about someone since Kristen.
"This is his girl and Rob is beyond proud to show her off. They became instant friends at first and it blossomed into a romance. He's really taken with her and not afraid to show it."
FKA previously revealed she suffered racist abuse when she was younger as the only mixed-race girl in a Catholic school.
She recently told Dazed and Confused magazine: "Either your hair's different, or the colour of your skin, or your features. Half of my life I've had people staring at me because they think I'm funny-looking and ugly."

Kelly Brook brands David McIntosh ‘needy’

Kelly Brook has condemned her ex-fiancé David McIntosh, as "a needy insecure man."
The 34-year-old beauty slammed her former lover in text messages to Sarah Harper insisting the 'Gladiators' star - who is rumoured to have cheated on her with Sarah - doesn't deserve either of them.
In the texts to Sarah, 34, Kelly wrote: "I fell out of love with him a while ago. He is a needy insecure man that will never treat a woman right.
"We both deserve better. I'm happy you came forward because he deserves everything that's coming to him."
The Sun newspaper also reports that the heartbroken model ranted about the former Commando - who appeared on 'Celebrity Big Brother' earlier this year - for his incompetence in the kitchen.
She continued: "His cooking is s**t too. I won't miss any of it."
An angry Kelly finished her ranting text messages by describing the 28-year-old hunk as having "Bad clothes, bad dance moves and bad energy."
Despite the insulting comments, David claimed yesterday (28.09.14) that allegations of adultery are completely untrue and he is still in love with Kelly, who he proposed to in March.
In a statement on twitter yesterday, David explained: "I did not cheat on Kelly whatsoever. Kelly is my world and, other than my son, she's the only person I've ever truly cared about in my life."

Cate Blanchett receives doctorate

Cate Blanchett made a passionate speech as she accepted an honorary doctorate last week.
The 'Blue Jasmine' actress was honoured by Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, for her extraordinary contribution in the field of arts, philanthropy and community and used her time on the podium to hail the arts as a "driver of innovation and exploration".
She said: "The arts are what we stay alive for, what we work for all week, what we dream about, what connects us and indeed, what some will say makes us human.
"Within this broad church is housed a myriad of professions -- professions which some of you will participate in, help change, shape and evolve and I'd like to say today that it is the arts that have always been the driver of innovation and exploration."
The 45-year-old star - who has sons Dashiell, 12, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, six, with husband Andrew Upton - went on to stress the value of studying the arts.
She added: "A culture that supports change, adaptation and experimentation is the only way that a scientist can find the mental space to explore and innovate. So remember when someone asks, 'What the hell can you do with an arts degree?', ask them '"hat can the world do without one?' "

George Clooney gave photo to guests

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin gifted their wedding guests framed pictures of themselves.
The couple - who married in Venice, Italy, on Saturday (27.09.14) have enjoyed a weekend of celebrations with around 100 of their loved ones, who were given a goodie bag when they arrived at the Cipriani Hotel for the nuptials.
As a memento from the celebrations, each guest received a framed photograph of the happy couple and a note which read:
"We're both so glad you're here. You've come a long way so we'll make it worth the trip.
"Thanks for being here. It means the world to us."
The bags also included a wedding weekend itinerary and suggestions for what to do, with guests - who included Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and Cindy Crawford - advised that on Friday (26.09.14), they could opt to dine at the hotel or in town, and that drinks and piano entertainment would be available around the pool until late evening.
According to Us Weekly magazine, the guests had iPods and speakers installed in their room and the music devices came equipped with a special playlist put together by George and Amal.
Guests were also issued with strict rules for the big day, mostly centering around phone and camera use.
According to TMZ, friends and family were asked to leave their phones in their hotel rooms, but if they felt they would need it, they had to leave it in a kiosk by the entrance to the ceremony at Aman Canal Grande Hotel.
All guests received a phone with a code, which served as a ticket to enter, and they were also handed a camera to take pictures freely.
However, the cameras all had codes which allowed the 'Monuments Men' star's team to access the pictures, meaning it would be easy to trace a source if any photographs were leaked.

Thriller to get 3D release

Michael Jackson's iconic 'Thriller' video will be released in 3D next year.
The 14-minute 1983 classic short film will be overhauled by original director John Landis after he resolved a dispute with the late star's estate, and it could even be released in cinemas.
John said: "That lawsuit went on for so many years, (but) we settled and they paid me finally. And so, actually there is something happening with 'Thriller.'
"It is going to reappear in a highly polished and three-dimensional way that is very exciting on the big screen."
A family insider says the release of the 3D film represents part of a plan Michael had for his 'This Is It' shows - a 50-date London residency which he had been preparing for when he died of acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009.
The source told the New York Daily News newspaper's Confidenti@l column: "John has been secretly working away on this for several months now.
"The iconic video has never been released on Blu-ray or seen in cinemas and 3-D, and that was always a vision Michael had. In fact, his 'This Is It' London show was meant to feature a segment which included a 3-D performance."
And the estate are even looking into turning 'Thriller' into a franchise.
The source said: "The estate has been looking at gaming ideas, too, and 'Thriller' fits into the genre.
"It could a be a dance experience or a zombie-style,shoot-' em-up-style movie. There are so many possibilities with this creative masterpiece."
Official paperwork from the Jackson estate reveals plans for ventures including "multiple albums," "Internet games" and "film, documentary and a Broadway play about Michael."
'Thriller' - which had a reported budget of $500,000 - was the first music video to be inducted into the National Film Registry in 2009.
The body recognises works that are "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant.

Kimberley Walsh at ‘breaking point’ during son’s birth

Kimberley Walsh was at "breaking point" while giving birth to her son.
The former Girls Aloud singer - who delivered her first son Bobby Jay with her long term boyfriend Justin Scott earlier this month - struggled to cope with both the pain during the delivery and the stress of the complicated birth after doctors were forced to use forceps to help deliver the child.
She told OK! magazine: "I was quite close to my breaking point of what I could cope with and was worried about how complicated the delivery would be so I took the safe option.
"It's that pain that's so concentrated that nothing helps.
"However, you do have a break in between and that's how you deal with it. You think thank God it's over, and then it comes back again! I tried to breathe through it but I didn't feel like I could. Your reaction is to wince to get through it."
Kimberley, 32 - who chose to have a body-numbing epidural injection to help with the excruciating labour pains - added that despite the stressful birth, she was "grateful" that doctors didn't have to perform a caesarian section.
She added: "For me having the epidural felt like the right decision and now - bearing in mind how the delivery turned out - I'm so glad I did.
"To be honest I'm glad we got him out with forceps, it could have easily ended in an emergency c-section."
Aside from a lack of sleep, the 'Love Machine' singer is settling in well to her role as a new mother and is lucky to have "night owl" partner Justin to help with the late feeds.
He said: "I haven't found it too bad, as I can manage quite well without a lot of sleep, even though I'd like more!
"I think some dads feel like a spare part in the early stages so it is nice that I'm able to help out and it gives Kim the chance to have a nap here and there.
"I'm a night owl so I'm happy. I tend to do the first two night feeds or if Kim is doing them I keep her company so that I'm not just laying there snoring."

Lynda Bellingham’s dying wishes

Lynda Bellingham has revealed her dying wishes.
The 66-year-old actress - who has terminal bowel cancer which has spread to her liver and lungs - announced she only has weeks to live over the weekend but hopes her husband, Michael Pattermore, 59 and and her sons, Robbie, 26 and 31-year-old Michael can do some of the things she hasn't got round to doing.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "There were so many things left that I wanted to do - but I hope my sons will use my energy and look after my hubby and love each other."
Lynda - who starred as the mother in the Oxo gravy stock adverts for 16 years - hopes her husband will find a new companion and buy a house in Somerset, where he grew up.
The former 'Loose Women' star - who lost her sister, Barbara, to lung cancer in 2005 - wishes she could see her sons tie the knot.
She said: "I am sad I will not see who they marry, or live with ... I know in my heart they have so much to give to someone who will unlock their dreams."
Lynda - who was diagnosed with cancer last year - has taken the brave decision to stop having chemotherapy in November so she is able to spend one last Christmas with her family.
She said: "Suddenly this week time is starting to snowball and you think, hang on, I'm not ready for this. I fear time going quickly."
Speaking about her brave decision, she added: "I've only got weeks to live - so I've picked the date I'll die.
"I would love to make one more Christmas, if possible, but I want to stop taking chemo around November in order to pass away by the end of January."

Anne Kirkbride written out of Corrie for three months

Anne Kirkbride has been written out of Coronation Street for three months.
The 60-year-old actress - who has played Deirdre Barlow on the ITV soap for over 40 years - met with show bosses to discuss her future on the show and requested an "extended period of leave" so she can sort out some personal issues.
A spokesperson for 'Coronation Street' confirmed to the Daily Star newspaper last night (28.09.14): "Anne Kirkbride requested a slightly extended period of leave from the show, a request the company was happy to grant."
The news follows revelations that the actress was offered a new £250,000 deal to stay on the popular show last month as she is an "indispensable" cast member.
A "delighted" Anne was said to be offered a new one-year contract containing the huge sum three months earlier than she was due to sit down with soap bosses for talks.
A show source said: "Anne is delighted with her contract renewal - it has further cemented her role as an indispensable cast member."

A photo of the 'The Only Way Is Essex' star posing topless was circulated among her social circle through mobile phone app, Snapchat, last week.
Speaking about the incident, the 24-year-old beauty told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'm upset about this picture. It was obviously a personal one and never intended for the public domain.
"I don't know how it's been leaked or whether I've been hacked, but I feel totally betrayed that someone could do this to me.
"I think it's disgusting. However, I now just want to move on and concentrate on the new series of 'TOWIE'."
Ferne's boyfriend, Charlie Sims, is reportedly angry about the leaked picture.
A source said: "Charlie and Ferne are stronger than ever and he's furious that someone would do this to her.
"He's protective and wants to put a stop to anyone sharing the snap further."
The couple are currently in Ibiza with the rest of the cast, filming for the new series of the show.
The insider added: "She's really excited about the new series and she's determined not to let this ordeal get her down."

Other celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Kim Kardashian and Rihanna have had their nude photographs leaked online by hackers in recent weeks.

Jason Merrells quits Emmerdale

Jason Merrells has quit 'Emmerdale'.
The 45-year-old actor - who plays the ruthless Declan Macey - is set to leave the ITV soap to spend more time with his family after admitting he finds being 200 miles away from his home very difficult.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "It was never going to be a job for life and I've stayed way longer than I thought I would. I've really enjoyed it but problems are still there - travel and living away from home.
"This job is full-on, so every week I'm 200 miles away from my family and my home, and after a while you think: 'As much as I love the work, I don't want this forever'."
It has yet to be confirmed whether Declan, played by Jason, will leave the Yorkshire village dead or alive.
The soap's viewers last saw him floating down the river, following a showdown with his wife Charity (Emma Atkins) and nephew, Robbie Lawson. During the altercation, Robbie, played by Jamie Shelton, died after a flare gun was fired into his chest, causing him to fall into the river.
Despite missing home, the dad-of-five admitted he had a great time on the show and praised his co-star, Emma.
Jason said: "Being in 'Emmerdale' is not something I could have done forever: I've stayed longer as it's been great fun to play this character.
"Emma Atkins is great to work with and the show has been so good over the last two years.
"Apart from the travel I've loved every second but there's always been an end in my mind."

Daniel Radcliffe says Horns character is ’emotionally intense’

Daniel Radcliffe claims the character he plays in new movie 'Horns' is the most "emotionally intense" of his career.
The 25-year-old actor, who found international fame playing the role of Harry Potter, performs the part of Ig - a man suspected of murdering his girlfriend - in the new film based on the novel by Joe Hill.
Speaking to Total Film, Radcliffe explained that although his character is a "good person", he is more overtly angry than those he's played earlier in his career.
Radcliffe remarked: "He's a good person who has something inexplicable and terrifying happen to him.
"Ig's anger is a lot more on display than any character I've played. The way he lashes out at the world is much more overt than I've done before.
"And I think, frankly, it's one of the most emotionally intense characters I've ever played."
Radcliffe's new film will be released in the UK on October 31.
Meanwhile, Jon Hamm claimed recently that Radcliffe has handled fame with "enviable" grace.
The 'Mad Men' actor, who appeared alongside the 'Harry Potter' star in 'A Young Doctor's Notebook', explained: "For the majority of his teens he was the most famous person in the world, in the eyes of 13 to 18 year olds, but he has handled it all with a grace that is enviable."

Jessica Chastain opens up about depression

Jessica Chastain fell into a spiralling depression while out of work.
The 37-year-old actress has spoken about the sadness she felt when she unexpectedly found herself unemployed.
The 'Zero Dark Thirty' star admitted that being selective about which films she appeared in ended up being detrimental to her health when she was left with no options.
In the November issue of Harper's Bazaar, she says: "[Not working felt] a little bit like grief and I started to feel really negative about myself, down on who I am, and then I realised it's because I've had so much time away from me that I don't really know what I like to do any more."
However, she said she is now feeling a lot more positive following her work on new movies, including Guillermo del Toro's 'Crimson Peak' and crime drama 'A Most Violent Year'.
She explained: "I'm out of it now but there was this feeling of being sad or depressed... wanting to go to another project."
Despite her rediscovered optimism, the Golden Globe winner revealed she still feels self-conscious about her behaviour and image.
She added: "Probably there are some people who feel great about themselves and don't second-guess anything they say or do or wear, but that's just not me."
