Nicki Minaj was fired as a waitress after she chased a customer down the street for stealing her pen.
The 'Anaconda' hitmaker, 31, admits, before she became famous, she was sacked from the restaurant The Red Lobster after she followed a couple into the car park and swore at them for pinching her biro.
Asked whether it was a special pen they'd snatched, Nicki told the November issue of GQ magazine: "No. It was the principle."
The curvaceous singer was also briefly a customer service representative for a company in New York, but that didn't really work out for her either as she didn't like the attitude she received from some people.
She explained: "I like dealing with people, but I don't really like a lot of b******t, so maybe customer service wasn't the best job for me."
Meanwhile, despite her ongoing success in the music industry, the brunette beauty, who has been dating her boyfriend Safaree Samuels for nine years, is planning to put her career on hold in the near future in order to get married and start a family.
She said previously: "I don't want to work my whole life without ever experiencing the joys of a family. The time is not yet ripe, but when I decide to get married and become a mother, I would like to take a hiatus and dedicate myself completely to my child."

David Arquette has allegedly ended his engagement.
The 43-year-old actor appears to have dumped his fiancée Christina McLarty, with whom he has six-month-old son Charlie, during a public argument, which was caught on camera on Friday night (17.10.14).
In the footage, obtained by the MailOnline, David was seen shouting at the brunette beauty, whom he has been dating for three years and proposed to in July, as she chased after him along Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles following their date night at Craig's restaurant.
The hunk, who appeared to call-off their romance, told his beau: "That's it, I can't take it any more. I'm done, I'm sorry. Just like the last guy. I'm just like him."
The 33-year-old stunner, who seemed to be in tears, later replied with: "Stop David ... Come here, please!"
Christina was previously married to Joe Francis, but their relationship came to an abrupt end in 2010 when she moved to New York to pursue her career.
Meanwhile, David was married to 'Friends' actress Courteney Cox, with whom he has 10-year-old daughter Coco, for 11 years but the couple split up in 2010 and divorced two years later in June 2012.
However, David insists the split was amicable and they have remained friends for the sake of their daughter.
He said earlier this year: "We just really dealt with it in a very sweet and honourable way. We just love each other. Even though the relationship didn't work out, we wanted to still remain friends and treat each other with respect and have a great relationship for our daughter."

Lynda Bellingham's former 'Loose Women' co-host Jane McDonald has paid tribute to her late friend and admits she can't believe "she's gone".
The singer starred on the panel of the chat show with Lynda - who lost her battle with colon cancer on Sunday (19.10.14) at the age of 66 - and became very close friends with her.
Jane is in total shock that Lynda passed away before fulfilling her dying wish of spending one last Christmas with her family, husband Michael, 59, and her sons, Michael, 31, and Robbie, 26, because she had seemed in such "good spirits" since choosing to stop her treatment.
Phoning in to the ITV show today (20.10.14), Jane said: "I can't believe that she's gone because she was in such great spirits. She thought so much of all her friends and all her family and had so much and that is never going to leave us. The love of Lynda Bellingham will be with each and every one of us and still as we picture her, she'll be there with us."
Lynda's dear friend Christopher Biggins also phoned in to speak about her, and his voice broke with emotion as he recalled her comic yet loving nature.
The 65-year-old actor said: "It's unbelievable really because she was such a good friend, as you all know she was marvellous. She was also a brilliant actress. I will remember the laughter, the joy of being with her and laughing, but also the caring person she was.
"If you were in trouble, you had a problem, you'd ring her and she'd be the first to help. She will be greatly lost."
The panellists on the chat show were clearly moved by the comments with 49-year-old co-host Coleen Nolan struggling to hold back her tears.
Other stars have added to the tributes online, with Peter Andre calling her "a courageous woman" on Twitter.
Diana Vickers tweeted: "Thoughts are with her family ... We have to bloody beat cancer!"
The last interview which Lynda conducted was with 'Loose Women' stars Janet Street-Porter and Coleen Nolan, and it will air on the show on Wednesday (22.10.14).

Charlie Sheen will allow his former fiancee to keep her $100,000 engagement ring.
The 'Anger Management' actor confirmed last week he and pornstar Scottine Ross - who is also known as Brett Rossi - had decided to end their eight-month engagement but there is no hard feelings between the pair and the generous star will allow her to keep all the gifts he bought her during their year-long romance.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Charlie bought the ring for Brett and would never ask for it back. Brett can do whatever she wants with the ring, and will also keep all of the clothing, handbags, and other jewelry he gave her.
"Charlie is extremely generous with the people he cares about."
The 49-year-old actor - who has a grown up daughter Cassandra from a relationship with Paula Profit, daughters Sam, 10, and Lola, nine, with second wife Denise Richards, and twin sons Bob and Max, five, with third spouse Brooke Mueller - explained last week he wants to put his children ahead of his romances for the time being.
He said in a statement: "Scotty and I had a great year together as we travelled the world and crossed a lot of things off our bucket list. She's a terrific gal but we've mutually decided to go our separate ways and to not spend the rest of our lives together.
"I've decided that my children deserve my focus more than a relationship does right now. I still have tremendous fondness for Scotty and I wish her all the best."

Kristen Stewart is taking time off to "make s**t with her hands".
The 24-year-old actress recently wrapped filming on futuristic drama 'Equals' and is now looking forward to a lengthy break to pursue some other creative interests.
She said: "I'm taking some time off because I've been working for two years.
"I'm an actor and that's my art form, and because I started that so young, I've always felt intimidated and insufficient when I think about other forms of art I want to create. I'm going to take so much time off.
"I'm going to buy a live-work space in downtown LA and I'm going to make some s**t with my hands. Literally, I made that decision a few weeks ago. I'm making a short film. I'm making a bunch of stuff. I don't know how I'll put it out. But I'm not going to hold it so preciously close to me. I write all the time."
One thing the 'Twilight Saga' star won't be doing during her time off is connecting with her fans on social media.
She told USA Today newspaper: "What would I Tweet about? Who are you talking to? What are you saying? Imagine sitting here right now and thinking, 'That's a good thing to say to the world?' What? I can't even understand it."
While Kristen - who dated Robert Pattinson for five years - is uncomfortable in the spotlight, she has learned to accept the attention that comes with fame because she "loves work" so much, though she does wish her life could be more "normal".
She said: "I started working as an actor so young. One thing that will stay with me forever is, I really love work. I love hard work.
"I'm somewhat OK with the isolation. At times I realise, that's so not normal. It's weird but it gives me the opportunity to do what I love.
"I do wish it was a bit more normal. Plans are just difficult. You have to be ready to change them any moment. If you walk into a place and there are weirdos there, you leave."

Jada Pinkett Smith auditioned for 'Gotham' with a man on a leash.
The 43-year-old actress revealed that her audition process for the role of Fish Mooney was a little unconventional, after she shocked the executive producer Danny Cannon when she turned up in a long gown with a short wig and a young man on a leash.
Speaking at the 'Gotham' panel at PaleyFest, Jada shared: "I said, 'Forget it, instead of talking about who Fish Mooney is, let me just show you. I went Method."
Despite playing a mob leader in the Fox TV show, Jada has previously spoken out about her own tough upbringing in Balitmore, Maryland.
Earlier this month she wrote on Facebook: "Half my life was surviving a war zone.
"There was a time all that loss felt like the norm."
The actress then added that she was glad that her own children - Jaden, 16, and Willow, 13, with her husband Will Smith - were saved from the same fate.
She told her fans: "I'm grateful for what I have survived ... Grateful I didn't become a statistic like I often thought I would. Grateful that my own children don't have to confront the loss and violence in their neighbourhood in the way their parents had to."

Sinéad O'Connor claims to have been asked to perform at the American Music Awards (AMAs) with the Pope.
The 47-year-old singer was reportedly set to perform her 1990 single 'Nothing Compares 2 U' and new track 'Take Me To Church' at the awards on November 24, but insists she has pulled out of the show after hearing producers had attempted to wrangle an introduction from Pope Francis.
Writing on her website last week, she wrote: " I never heard anything so warped and disrespectful to both the Pope and myself, as well as millions of Catholics (As well as my fans, with whom I have some f**king street cred, thanks, and integrity) in my life. (sic)"
The troubled musician has had several scrapes with the Catholic Church throughout her extensive career, most notably an incident on 'Saturday Night Live' in 1992 when she tore up a photo of Pope John Paul II.
Currently promoting her 10th studio album 'I'm Not Bossy, I'm the Boss', she admitted that the suggestion was in bad taste following her stance against the faith.
She continued: "Since naturally their idea was not only disrespectful to the Pope and to millions of Catholics (The idea he ought consider lowering his feet into the disgusting world of show business and celebrity at all! Never mind with Sinead O'Connor) they didn't get a response and consequently I'm now not doing the show."
She added: "Oft' it is said 'That Sinead O'Connor is insane', and of course, there's no smoke without a little fire, but one wonders who is actually crazy after this."

Prince William and Duchess Catherine's baby is expected to be called Elizabeth.
The moniker is the hot favourite to be given to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's second child, who would be named after William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, with several bookmakers after a number of bets were placed on the name.
Several punters have also had a wager on the little one being born on the same day as the 88-year-old monarch's birthday, April 21, with odds currently priced at 21/1.
William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: "It would be fitting for the baby to be born on the queen's birthday and Elizabeth is the favourite name too."
The latest royal baby betting market comes after Kensington Palace's announcement earlier this morning (20.10.14) that the 32-year-old duchess is due to give birth in April 2015.
Elizabeth is 7/2 favourite with William Hill to be the name of the couple's second born - following the birth of their first child Prince George in July 2013 - while James and Victoria are both 12/1, followed by Alexandra and Phillip (14/1).
Those looking for an outside bet with more value might like to check out monikers such as Tyrone or Royston, which are both available at 100/1.

Scott Mills has lost seven pounds since he started training for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The BBC Radio 1 host cruised through the fourth week of the dancing competition on Sunday evening (19.10.14) and as well as learning to ballroom dance he's also starting to feel the health benefits of his gruelling training schedule.
Speaking at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards at Wembley Arena, he told BANG Showbiz: "I feel a lot fitter - I feel strong! I've lost like half a stone already."
Although the 40-year-old presenter's waistline has been decreasing at a speedy rate, it might become even more dramatic by the next live show on Saturday (25.10.14) when he will be performing a notoriously quick-paced dance.
He joked: "Next week I'm doing Charleston which is literally hopping around for hours so like, six hours a day I'm going to be fit!"
The DJ has consistently been scored harshly on the programme, so confessed that he was shocked when former 'The Only Way is Essex' star Mark Wright ended up in the dance-off yesterday (19.10.14) along with 'Bargain Hunt' host Tim Wonnacott.
He remarked: "I was really surprised. But that's the thing about 'Strictly...', you cannot call it and even people that you would think would feel that they were safe, they don't.
"Because as you see with the bottom two last night, it's like, why has that happened? So yeah it's scary for everybody. That bit when you're standing there waiting is the worst bit."

The former 'X Factor' contestant has slammed rumours that she was dating her co-star, after Jake Quickenden - who is also participating on the ITV show - spoke of their "connection".
Talking to BANG Showbiz following her elimination on Sunday (19.10.14), Chloe Jasmine said: "Jake Quickenden makes lots of comments and he also looks at his face in a spoon when he's eating.
"If I was in a romance with Stevi. [Puts on Stevi's accent] 'Alright. I've pulled a well fit bird.'
"No there isn't anything going on. But he is a wonderful human being and a joy to be around. Really funny.
"I'm very glad that Stevi is around. He's very entertaining, he gives it 100 per cent."
However, the sultry jazz singer - who exited the show along with Stephanie Nala - was less complimentary about Stevi after she saw him wearing a lime green mankini.
She joked: "Honestly, I nearly vomited. No I actually had to hide in the cupboard with Ruby [King, from Blonde Electra].
"It's not appropriate. We're not in Ibiza at the beach. I went into the kitchen to get a chamomile tea ... dear god."

Guillermo del Toro wants to make 'Pacific Rim 3'.
The 50-year-old director is due to start shooting the sequel to the robots versus monsters movie in November with it being scheduled for an April 2017 release date, but he is already planning the third instalment.
According to Guillermo, the movie's writers Zak Penn and Travis Beacham have already completed the first draft of the script ahead of filming late next year and have left the second instalment open to pave the way for another movie.
The Mexican movie-maker told Collider.com: "Some of your favourite characters come back, some others don't because we have decided that we're going to shoot ambitiously and say, 'Let's hope we have three movies,' so some characters come in at the end of the second, hoping that it will ramp up on the third one."
While Guillermo has pleased audiences with his decision to extend the franchise, he recently left 'Hellboy' fans disappointed by claiming it would be "almost impossible" to produce a third film in the comic book franchise as it isn't financially viable.
He said: "Creatively, I would love to make it. Creatively.
"But it is proven almost impossible to finance. Not from my side, but from the studio side. If I was a multimillionaire, I would finance it myself, but I spend all my money on rubber monsters."

He said: "Creatively, I would love to make it. Creatively.
"But it is proven almost impossible to finance. Not from my side, but from the studio side. If I was a multimillionaire, I would finance it myself, but I spend all my money on rubber monsters."
Movies

Nicholas Hoult says 'Mad Max: Fury Road' is a "strange" movie.
The 24-year-old actor plays adrenaline-junkie Nux in the post-apocalyptic flick and upon seeing the rough cut he was surprised by the unusual dialogue in the film.
He told MTV.com: "I've seen a rough cut. I was just sitting there, going like, 'Whoa.'
"It's a 300-page comic book, technically. You have the odd word, but the dialogue, it's strange, the words they used.
"They didn't speak like I would speak, or like anybody would speak nowadays."
The 'Jack the Giant Slayer' star is very excited for film fans to see the movie and credits writer, director and creator of the 'Mad Max' series George Miller for having the genius to create such a compelling film and fictional world.
Hoult said: "He's so smart. The world he's created, it just looks stunning."
The film also stars Charlize Theron, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Tom Hardy who is taking over the title role from Mel Gibson who portrayed 'The Road Warrior' in three previous movies.
Meanwhile, Hoult is soon to start filming 'X-Men: Apocalypse' with his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Lawrence, with several racy scenes planned between their respective characters Beast (Hoult) and Mystique (Lawrence).
A source said: "It's a huge ensemble franchise but the point of the latest film was to strip that back and focus on Jen and Nick's characters' relationship. Earlier this year that seemed like a great idea, but now they've split and it's too late to rewrite the script. They are very professional of course, and will make it work."
