Kim Kardashian West: I exist because of social media

Kim Kardashian West doesn't think she'd exist without social media.
The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star believes the popularity of the show has "evolved" through the family's presence on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
When asked if she would exist without social media, she said: "I don't think so... I don't think social media was that heavy when we started our show, but I think we really evolved with social media."
Kim - who has starred in the reality television show since 2007 - also admitted that her love for social media comes from her love of sharing things.
She told Paper magazine: "I love sharing my world with people. That's just who I am."
Kim - who has over 25 million followers on Twitter - also admitted that she is behind all her own tweets and questioned why other celebrities have teams who use Twitter on their behalf.
She added: "I've always just been open. I've been super-open with my life, and that's just who I am, and that's how my family is, too."
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old reality television star previously revealed that her favourite area of social media is photo-sharing website, Instagram.
She said: "I'm loving Instagram. I think you can be really creative, and a little more intimate. It has more texture than just words, obviously.
"[I have] a three-image rule. In the same setting, I try not to do more than three. It oversaturates my feed."

Dougie Poynter denies engagement to Ellie Goulding

Dougie Poynter is not engaged to Ellie Goulding.
The McBusted singer has denied rumours that himself and the 'Burn' hitmaker were set to tie the knot.
Ellie was spotted wearing a gold ring on the third finger of her left hand last week and when asked if it was an engagement ring, Dougie replied: "No. It was just a ring that fit on that finger.
"It didn't really look like an engagement though, did it?"
His bandmate, Harry Judd, joked to Digital Spy: "That would have been a lame engagement ring Doug."
Rumours began when an insider recently revealed that the couple are getting more serious.
The source previously said: "They must have talked about it. If Dougie was to ask, I'm almost certain Ellie's answer would be yes.
"Dougie's seen all of his friends get married and he'd surely love to do the same, for both of them it seems they've found 'the one'."
Meanwhile, Ellie has praised her boyfriend's "incredible" voice and has admitted she wishes he'd sing more.
She recently said: "He has got a really amazing voice. I'm always going on about male voices that I discover, incredible male vocals, etc. His voice literally makes me melt, and he doesn't believe me!
"He has the most incredible voice, but you don't hear it 'cos he doesn't sing much on their stuff. I wish he would sing more. I think he's just a little bit shy!
"When he sings I just, like, collapse. I love his voice so much."

Idina Menzel needs time to date

Idina Menzel would date again if she had the time.
The 43-year-old singer - who split from her husband, Taye Diggs, last year after 10 years of marriage - admits that she would be "open" to dating but has to prioritise her performance in Broadway musical 'If/Then' and looking after their 5-year-old son, Walker.
She said: "I'm open to it. I just don't have a lot of time.
"They'd have to meet me at, like, midnight after the show, and that's kind of slutty, isn't it?"
The 'Let It Go' singer also admitted that she finds it hard to balance her career and home life.
She explained to Redbook magazine: "The guilt is the thing that we as women all feel, whether we stay at home or we work. There are a lot of double standards with the way the men in our lives see how we make those choices.
"I think there's an accounting for how much time I spend with my son, and men don't have to account for how much time they spend with their child. It hurts to feel that's a judgment being made. Because we're already judging ourselves."
Meanwhile, Idina recently admitted that dating as a single parent "sucks".
She said: "I don't want to keep introducing him to people and having him form bonds and then take them away, you know."

James Gandolfini receives Hall of Fame honour

James Gandolfini is to be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame tonight (13.11.14).
The late 'Sopranos' actor - who died in Italy last June aged 51 - will be commemorated at Convention Hall in Asbury Park in a ceremony attended by the mob drama's creator David Chase, as well as cast members from the show.
The web-based hall recognises New Jersey residents who have made "invaluable contributions to society and the world beyond" and a number of other people will also be inducted tonight.
These include NBC News anchor Brian Williams, former Governor Jim Florio, jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie, chef Alice Waters, author Dorothy Parker, and basketball icon Patrick Ewing.
Since 2008, 80 people with ties to the state have been inducted, including singers Bruce Springsteen and the late Whitney Houston, the 'Shining' star Jack Nicholson and astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
James - who died of a heart attack while holidaying in Rome - scooped a number of awards for his portrayal of mob boss Tony Soprano, including three Emmy Awards for best actor, three Screen Actors Guild awards and a Golden Globe.
'The Sopranos' was voted the best written TV series of all time by the Writers' Guild of America last year.

Kim Kardashian West: I thought Kylie Jenner’s hair would ruin my wedding

Kim Kardashian West thought Kylie Jenner would "ruin her wedding" when she died her hair blue.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star was furious when her 17-year-old half-sister showed off a dramatic new look shortly before she was due to marry Kanye West in May, but grew to love the teenager's bold colouring.
Kim admitted: "I gave Kylie such s**t for dying her hair blue, especially at the time of my wedding, and I was so upset and I thought 'She's going to ruin everything!', I didn't understand it.
"Looking back, I loved it and even towards the end I really started to love it."
And the 34-year-old beauty - who has 17-month-old daughter North with Kanye - even admitted she would consider copying the blue hue, but only if she totally changed her hair style as well.
She told Britain's Glamour magazine: "I it was short - and how Kylie did it - I think I would. I'm not saying I will, but... I would be into it."
Despite her polished appearance, Kim admitted she doesn't wash her hair very often.
She said: "I don't wash my hair every day. I really try and stick with - y'know, if I'm getting it done, I'll get a blow-out on the first day, and on the second day I'll add waves and curls to it, and on the third day I'll keep that messy, and on the fourth day stick it up, and then wash it that night."

Dave Grohl: Kim Kardashian West’s bum is like two space hoppers

Dave Grohl has compared Kim Kardashian West's butt to two space hoppers.
The Foo Fighters frontman has admitted the star's derriere - which has been the talk of the internet this week after her naked shoot in Paper Magazine, including a shot of her oiled behind, was unveiled - reminded him of an inflatable child's play-thing, a Hippity Hop, also known as a space hopper, because of its size.
He explained: "I used to have this thing when I was a kid called a Hippity Hop.
"It's like this big inflatable thing with handles and you just bounce around your yard, it's kind of like a Hippity Hop. It's actually two Hippity Hops!"
The singer also admitted he struggles to see how the raven-haired beauty sits down every day due to the size of her posterior.
He said: "It's the biggest, most unreasonable butt you've ever seen in your life.
"I don't know how she can sit down?"
The 45-year-old rocker - who has three daughters, Violet Maye, eight, Harper Willow, five and three-month-old Ophelia Saint with his wife, Jordyn Blum - also recalled an experience when he bumped into the 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star, confessing he was mesmerised by her behind.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1, he said: "There was once when I was taking my kids to their ballet class and she was at some crazy gym that was next door.
"It was one of those military gyms which was like, 'I want to make your ass huge!' and she walked by and it is like an optical illusion."

Jennifer Aniston wants old age Friends

Jennifer Aniston wants the 'Friends' cast to reunite when they are pensioners.
The 45-year-old actress would love to reunite with her former co-stars Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing) and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) on the US sitcom but insists it would only work when they're a lot older.
Speaking at a 'Horrible Bosses 2' press conference in central London today (13.11.14), the brunette beauty - who played Rachel Green in the popular programme - said: "I don't know [whether I'd do 'Friends' again].
"Honestly, I think we should wait until we're really old and then maybe reunite. Golden Friends."
Press conference host, TV presenter Edith Bowman, then joked the title 'Golden Friends' could have a different meaning and her 'Horrible Bosses' cast members Charlie Day and Jason Bateman comically agreed.
Jennifer also joked she could recreate 'Friends' with her 'Horrible Bosses 2' co-stars.
She said: "This is the new cast right here. Jason [Bateman], you get to be Chandler, [Jason Sudeikis], you get to be Joey and that means [Charlie] gets to be Ross."
This comes after Lisa recently admitted she would be keen to shoot another series of the NBC comedy because she would love to spend some more time with her co-stars.
When asked in which format she'd most like the show to return, Lisa said: "A whole season, because to spend that much time with those people again would be heaven!"

Duchess of Cambridge puts morning sickness behind her at SportAid

Britain's Duchess of Cambridge put her morning sickness behind her at the SportAid event.
The 32-year-old royal has struggled with acute morning sickness during her second pregnancy, however, Catherine appeared to be on the mend as she took part at the SportAid event in London yesterday (12.11.14).
When the Duchess - whose due date is thought to be in April - appeared at last year's event she took part in a vigorous game of volleyball, however, this time she decided to put her mental skills to the test.
Seeing the funny side, Her Royal Highness joked: "Finally, something I can do while I'm pregnant."
Taking part in four different challenges that test one's mental agility, the SportAid patron was told that the Formula 1 racing driver Jenson Button had passed the same tests just a few weeks earlier.
The Daily Express newspaper reported the Duchess as saying: "It makes you wonder whether he is a good driver because he is so sharp mentally or whether the years of driving have honed it.
"It's remarkable that people haven't really thought before of working the mind and body as one.
"This could be used in so many environments, even in an office.
"It is absolutely fascinating."
Catherine - who is already mother to her 16-month-old son Prince George - also spent time with the young athletes who are favourites for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Speaking of the SportAid patron, one future golf champion Emma Allen said: "It's wonderful to have a figurehead like [Catherine] for me, especially as a girl."

Judi Dench ‘loathes’ retirement questions

Dame Judi Dench is sick of people asking her when she's going to retire.
Although she will turn 80 this year, Dench insists she has no intention of calling time on her career and is disappointed with the ageist attitude of society.
Speaking at the screening of her new BBC One TV show 'Esio Trot' - in which she stars with Dustin Hoffman - she said: "It drives me spare when people say, 'Are you going to retire?' Or, 'Don't you think it's time to put your feet up?' Or tell me my age"
"I loathe it; I don't want to be told that I'm too old to do something. I want to try it first and then, if I don't succeed, then I can be told I can't do it. Otherwise you get to a certain age and it's, 'Oh well you mustn't do that because you could have a fall or you can't learn lines or you can't see.' Let me have a go. Let us all have a go."
the 'Skyfall' star - who was diagnosed with macular degeneration in early 2012, an eye condition that damages your sight - insists mature actors have a lot to offer the industry and insists ageism is just something that is thrust upon you.
The Oscar winner added: "Age is just a number imposed on you. The only time I got really upset [about ageing] was when I was 40. But after that it's the old thing that everybody says, 'You're as old as you feel.' "

Christopher Nolan will never make a comedy

Christopher Nolan will never make a comedy film.
The acclaimed director has revealed that he doesn't think he is cut out for the genre because it is so difficult to make people laugh.
The filmmaker explained: "I would try anything, I think, except comedy or romantic comedy, those are very tough genres to work in."
The 44-year-old director - who has just released space exploration movie 'Interstellar', which stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Sir Michael Caine - insists shooting a comedy would not film would not be a welcome challenge, because it is so easy for viewers to slate a comedy which isn't funny.
Talking to the USA Today newspaper, he added: "They rely on a unanimity of audience response. You screen a comedy for people, and if they don't laugh, you've got to figure out a way to make them laugh.
"There's no hiding behind the art of the film. There's, 'Oh, you don't get it'."
The writer-and-producer has worked on some of the most successful movies of the past decade, including 'Inception' and 'The Dark Knight' trilogy, and recently revealed that he has also been approached to work on James Bond movies.
He revealed to The Daily Beast: "I love James Bond and I've talked with the producers over the years, but nothing's ever worked out,"
"They do a great job - they don't need me right now, and Sam [Mendes] is an extraordinary talent.
"I will absolutely be first in line to see the next Bond film as I have been for all of them."

Rihanna secretive over album release

Rihanna won't tell fans when her new album is coming out.
The 26-year-old singer is very proud of her new record, which is rumoured to be called 'Lost Files', but won't announce a release date, though she hinted it will be previewed one track at a time.
She said: "I can't give you any hints of when it will drop. It's going to be great, that's all I'm going to tell you and I'm excited about it.
"I can't wait for everybody to hear [the music] little by little. ... little by little. I can't wait."
And the 'Diamonds' hitmaker admitted she is constantly trying to "outdo" what she has recorded before.
Speaking at a meet-and-greet with fans in Virginia, she said: "I try to battle myself and outdo everything I've done and that's been the hardest thing to do. You start overthinking things at times."
While Rihanna is keeping tight-lipped about the record, her 'We Found Love' collaborator Calvin Harris recently admitted some material he sent to her hasn't made it onto the finished album.
He said: "No I'm not on the Rihanna album.
"I did a few things for it but they don't get back to you. There are a lot of people involved!
"She listens to everything - I know that - but she's got a strong idea and identity and an idea of what her album should sound like."
However, the 30-year-old DJ - who, along with Rihanna, is signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation record label - insists he's not bothered about being snubbed from her latest LP.
He said: "It's not like they put me on 'We Found Love' because I'm signed to Roc, they did it because it's a f**king good song.
"But it's OK because I'm working on my stuff and it's going fine so I'm not concerned about it."

Pete Doherty wants to help addicts

Pete Doherty wants to help other drug addicts get sober.
The Libertines singer - who has endured numerous stints in rehab in the past - is a month into treatment at the Hope Rehab in Bangkok and believes so strongly in the programme that he wants to establish a foundation to help fund stays for other people wanting to kick their deadly habits.
Clinic founder Simon Mott said: "I think there is a difference between motivation and inspiration, we have designed our programme to include many of the wonders Thailand has to offer visitors.
"Peter is not only a talented musician but a strong character who has a lot to offer - he has expressed a wish to use his influence to help other struggling addicts. Together with Hope he wants to start a trust funding treatment places."
The founder has known the 'What A Waster' hitmaker for some time and felt his approach would help the troubled rocker in his battle against heroin addiction.
A statement from the clinic given to NME.com read: "[Simon] believes a change in environment is important for recovery and invited Pete to get involved with his new treatment project in Thailand.
"Many addicts do not fit into conventional rehabs, however today [Pete] is a month into his recovery of a well-documented heroin addiction. Peter does not suit typical treatment approaches - clinical environments limited by their setting and formality."
