Britain's Duchess Catherine wants to buy Prince Harry a dog for Christmas.
The pregnant duchess has seen how much the 30-year-old prince dotes on her and Prince William's beloved pet pooch Lupo - who was famously a part of the first official pictures of the couple and their baby son Prince George, now 16 months - and has been making enquiries about a litter of yellow labradors which are due to be born at the end of this month.
Once the pups are born, Harry will be given the pick of the litter to take home to his apartment at Kensington Palace.
A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "Kate knows how much Harry loves Lupo, and how much joy he brings him, so it makes sense he should have his own puppy.
"Kate and William worry that Harry gets lonely living on his own, so a pet puppy would be a great solution."
And Catherine has already reassured her brother-in-law that she is happy to care for the dog if he has to go away on official duties.
The source added: "Apparently she is willing to look after the dog if Harry has to go abroad for Royal duties or with the Army."

Russell Crowe is "extremely sensitive".
The 'Noah' actor insists speculation he is arrogant and has a bad temper is false but he admits he takes things to heart more than he probably should.
He said: "Look, I'm extremely sensitive, and that's probably where some of my negative stuff comes from. I'm a little bit intuitive, so I know from a handshake whether somebody means me good or ill."
In 2005, the 'Gladiator' actor - who has sons Charles, 10, and Tennyson, eight, with ex-wife Danielle Spencer - was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly throwing a phone and cutting a hotel clerk's eye, but the 50-year-old star insists the incident was blown out of proportion.
Russell - who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and avoided prison - explained during an interview on 'Sunday Night': "I am in a fancy hotel in New York... I was trying to get a line out to Australia, the only thing that was stopping me calling Dani and Charlie, who were sitting down to have dinner at that exact moment was this bloke who refused to make it easy for quite some time.
"His response was 'whatever' and he hung up on me, so I went down stairs and had a word with him...
"I never touched him mate, I never laid a finger on him. I didn't physically hurt him.
"He hurt himself running away from me. He slipped over and hurt his head."

Rumer Willis is "having trouble" coming up with a name for her new puppy.
The 26-year-old star has got an adorable new pet pooch which she was named Delilah the brunette has also given the cute canine several other nicknames because she is struggling to settle on a moniker for her latest four-legged friend.
Rumer posted a picture of the pup on Instagram and added the caption: "Introducing Delilah Rose Blue-Willis aka DoDo aka Yonce Blue-Willis the newest addition to my clan. #wearestillhavingtroublepickingoutaname (sic)"
The 'Hostage' actress has fallen in love with the animal and has taken to the social networking account to post several photographs of the puppy, and she even took the pet pooch with her to West Hollywood salon Nine Zero One over the weekend.
She wrote: "Delilah just getting in some mommy time at her fave salon @ninezeroone (sic)"
Rumer - the daughter of Bruce Willis, 59, and Demi Moore, 52 - will be hoping her latest canine addition doesn't do a runner as her terrier beagle dog Indy Blue did so in July 2012.
The star was left heartbroken when the canine went AWOL so she put up "missing" posters around her Hollywood Hills neighbourhood in a desperate attempt to find the four-legged friend.
However, Rumer was later in luck as the then-four-month-old hound was finally found alive and well.
As with Delilah, Rumer was also struggling to name Indy as she originally called her Dita Blue before changing her moniker and had to ask for help from her social media followers.

Melanie Sykes broke down in tears on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' after receiving a care package from home which contained photos of her kids.
The TV presenter couldn't hold back the tears when she saw the pictures of sons, Roman, 12, and 10-year-old Valentino - her kids from her first marriage to Daniel Caltagirone.
And her close friend Adam Phillips believes the 44-year-old star - who won nine out of 10 stars on the Hells Kitchen task on the Sunday night show (23.11.14) - will miss her children terribly while she's in the Australian jungle.
After watching his friend break down in tears as she received photographs of her children in camp, Adam said: "Missing her kids is going to be an integral part for her as time goes on. That is going to be her biggest problem. They are a massive part of her life and she spends all day, every day with them."
He added: "They have been watching the show and, needless to say, they are really proud of her."
Melanie's jungle campmate, Kendra Wilkinson was also very emotional as she opened up her care package from home.
The 29-year-old former Playboy model weeped as she opened her box to discover the photographs of her two children, Hank, four, and her six-month-old baby Alijah.
Her father, Eric Wilkinson told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The kids are having a really hard time missing Kendra. The whole family is having a hard time without her."
Newsreader Michael Buerk was ecstatic when he found a sachet of cashew nuts in his box from home, while reality star Nadia Forde received her favourite childhood doll.

Former 'X Factor' contestant Chloe-Jasmine Whichello has confessed had a relationship with fellow contestant Stevi Ritchie.
The 23-year-old singer has admitted to having the fling - which led to her being dumped by her boyfriend, Craig Wiffen - but she doesn't feel bad about the affair because it was destined to happen.
She said: "I'm not ashamed of what I did, because I believe it was part of God's divine plan.
"It probably didn't help that I didn't tell Craig straight away, but I didn't really have a chance to."
However, while the talent show reject admitted the pair's secret tryst should not have taken place, she explained she deserves forgiveness for her actions, and doesn't understand why her ex can't get over it
She told The Sun newspaper: "I made a mistake. You should be able to make a mistake and be forgiven. If I went to my parents and said I'd made a mistake they would still love me, it wouldn't change anything.
"But for some reason, it doesn't work that way in relationships, and I don't really know why that is."
The blonde beauty was booted off the reality programme after the second live show, while her former lover received the axe last night (23.11.14) when he found himself in the bottom two alongside 20-year-old fan-favourite Andrea Faustini.
The revelation comes just a week after Chloe-Jasmine's ex claimed Stevi had fabricated the whole affair.
Craig said: "Stevi lied through his teeth. He said he was sorry, but he thought Chloe was single - something he later admitted was lies.
"If you've done something wrong, for God's sake, at least be man enough to own up to the truth.
"Then he tried to blame 'The X Factor'. He said he'd felt under a huge amount of pressure to have feelings for Chloe because it was driving his 'campaign'."

John Altman is releasing a Christmas single.
The 'EastEnders' actor - who is best known as the soap's Nasty Nick Cotton - has teamed up with JOANovARC to record a new version of Iggy Pop's 'Real Wild Child (Wild One)' and is hoping to top the festive chart ahead of Band Aid 30 and 'The X Factor' winner.
He said: "I've always wanted to release a record, that is one of the things on my wish list.
"It'd be something else [to reach number one ahead of Band Aid]. You can't tell can you? But we're going all out for it because I think we've got a good one there. It was a pleasure to do it.
"We are going all out to beat 'X Factor' too. We've got a great team on board. The rest of it is up to everyone out there."
The 62-year-old star has tweaked the well-known song to make it more festive, though he insists it is still "hard-hitting".
He said: "We decided on the Iggy Pop song and I rewrote one of the verses and we rearranged it a little bit, put a few Christmassy jingle jangle bits in there, but we wanted it to be fairly hard-hitting as well."
And if the single - which is released on November 30 on Right Track Records/Universal - does well in the chart, John has plans to record an album.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I would love to do a whole album with the girls. I've got the material I've written which would fit. They would be able to play it really, really well. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Let's see how the single goes."
For more information visit www.joanovarc.co.uk and the single can be pre-ordered from Apple iTunes.

Gino D'Acampo thinks his agent may "kill" him if he signs up for a second series of 'Celebrity Juice'.
The 38-year-old team captain stood in for Holly Willoughby on the 12th series of the comedy panel show while she took maternity leave, but confessed he is unlikely to return because his saucy antics on the programme have affected his career as a family-friendly celebrity chef.
He said: "After all the shenanigans of this series I don't think it's going to be very good for my cooking career if I keep doing 'Celebrity Juice'. My agent will kill me.
"Let's just say I lost a few family-orientated sponsors. I wouldn't say, 'Oops', I'd say. 's**t'. But saying that, we gained a few others..."
The father-of-three was involved in several racy activities including flashing his bottom and simulating sex with Mel Sykes - his co-host on ITV cookery show 'Let's Do Lunch' - during the series' 10 episodes.
However, with 33-year-old Holly set to return for the next set of shows, Gino admitted he will miss working on the hilarious show.
He added: "It's been the best time ever. It's great, it's one of these places where you don't even feel like you're going to work.
"You show up, you have a few pints of Guinness and off you go straight into filming, which is really just having fun with your friends."
Despite his agent's reluctance to see the star return to the scandalous ITV2 show, he revealed he would find it difficult to reject fellow regulars Keith Lemon and Fearne Cotton because they are such good friends.
He added to The Sun newspaper "It would be very hard to say no to Keith and Fearne - we socialise outside of the show."

Kendra Wilkinson's father has been left "stunned" by her flirty behaviour on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' with Jake Quickenden.
The 29-year-old beauty's dad Eric and Kendra's husband, former American football playerHank Baskett, were shocked to see her canoodling with Jake, 26, leaving Hank, 32, "pining" for his wife.
Although the pair - who have two sons, Hank Baskett IV, four, and six-month-old Alijah - are said to be "on a break" after Hank cheated on her with a transgender model, he has been struggling to watch her antics on the ITV reality show.
The blonde beauty offered to share her bed with the 'X Factor' reject and was heard referring to him as "fresh meat".
Eric - who recently travelled to Australia to support his daughter - told the Daily Star newspaper: "I talked with Hank in LA before I came to Australia. I live in Costa Rica, so I flew to Australia via LA to talk to Hank at the airport.
"Hank and I are absolutely stunned. Hank is totally pining for her. They've never been apart for this long before."
Eric also admitted he was surprised his daughter had struggled to complete her Buchtucker trials, dropping out of her third task after managing to secure just two stars, equating to two meals for her and the other campmates.
He said: "Kendra comes from jungle stock. She was just down in Costa Rica at my house and we have every animal, every insect, everything you can imagine in the jungle."
However, Eric is positive Kendra's nerve is improving and is sure her "strength" and "sense of humour" will see her through to the end of the competition.
He said of the California born star: "I saw her fear but she's getting over it pretty quickly. She has a notorious fear of heights and didn't seem to have any qualms about parachuting in.
"If any American can do well, Kendra can. Especially with her spirit, sense of humour, and her strength."

The cast of 'The Inbetweeners' will form a book group to stay in touch after confirming there will be no third film.
The four actors from 'The Inbetweeners' movies and TV series - Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison - have officially finished working on the franchise that originally started as comedy series on E4 in 2008.
Joe (who played Simon Cooper) explained that the cast will have to take unusual measures to keep in touch now that they have finished working together.
The 31-year-old actor joked: "None of us are on Facebook. We can start a book group instead - read a Jane Austen novel."
And despite pleas for a third instalment, the four boys are adamant that they are done with the teenage themed comedy.
Simon, 30, (Will McKenzie) told The Sun newspaper: "There's no third film. This is genuinely our last interview ever. Ever, ever, ever."
As Joe quipped: "We should take a moment - it's like the fall of the Berlin Wall."
Father-of-two, James, 27, admitted he felt he was too old to play foul-mouthed Jay Cartwright any more.
He said: "Physically, unfortunately, we're ageing. The body clock is ticking. It has to end at some point."
While Blake - who played Neil Sutherland - added he was just please that the Australian set sequel had been well received.
The 29-year-old actor said: "The film did really well. It was reviewed really well and we were very happy about that. It was a surprise to us. What a great way to go out."

British professional boxer Tony Bellew is to appear with Sylvester Stallone in the new 'Rocky' spin-off movie 'Creed'.
The cruiserweight fighter has been cast as Pretty Boy Porter in the film, which will star Michael B. Jordan star as the grandson of Rocky's most famous opponent and friend Apollo Creed - played by Carl Weathers in previous films in the franchise - who Rocky decides to train.
Bellew admits he stalled on signing his contract for the film - which will be directed by Ryan Coogler - because he wanted to focus on his fight with his bitter rival Nathan Cleverly, whom he defeated on points in their rematch on Saturday night (22.11.14).
The 31-year-old fighter said: "I've got an assignment next in Hollywood. I've got business in Hollywood in December. I'm close to agreeing to it and I've been sought after for quite some time. I'm off to America early in December, I've got a few things to do over there and life is going to change. It came about because of a film of me driving around the area I grew up in as a kid. This guy spotted it and it went from there. He came to see me, his name is Ryan Coogler, he's an amazing movie producer. An amazing guy."
However, when he was first contacted about the part, Bellew admits he thought the offer was a prank call and he put the phone down twice on the person contacting him before taking the call seriously.
Recalling how he was in a foul mood because his favourite English soccer team Everton had lost, he said: "They saw a film of me driving round where I come from in Liverpool and it came from there. Everton had just lost 6-3 to Chelsea and a guy phoned me up and said Sylvester Stallone wants to speak to you. I said, 'F**k off,' and when he rang a second time 10 minutes later, I told him I would trace the call, find him and beat the s**t out of him.
"Then he rang a third time and told me to check out the director on the web and we agreed to meet at a hotel. Even then I thought it was a wind-up and expected someone to jump out and say, 'Ha, fooled you!'"
Former super-middleweight champion Andre Ward has also been cast in the movie and filming will start in January in Philadelphia - the hometown of Rocky which has featured in the previous six films - and Las Vegas.
Speaking about the project previously, Stallone, 68, said: "It's very interesting because people would think it would be 'Rocky VII' ... it's not, I have a supporting role ... I think it will be a great movie."
