Kris Jenner was looking like she'd had a few too many drinks after a romantic dinner with her beau Corey Gamble on Tuesday (25.11.14). The 59-year-old 'momager' had headed out to Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood with her toyboy for the evening, and...
Emily Blunt may have just popped out a baby, but you wouldn't have guessed as she arrived at a 'Late Show With David Letterman' recording in a petite fitted dress. The 31-year-old 'Edge of Tomorrow' actress gave birth to her daughter Hazel in February,...
Jack O'Connell refused to crack a smile as he walked the red carpet for his new movie 'Unbroken'. The sombre film follows him as the protagonist at a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp, so it's easy to see why he wasn't jumping for joy at the film's premier...
Linda Barker has adopted an abandoned dog.
The former 'Changing Rooms' star has been working with the Dogs Trust for their 'A dog is for Life, not just for Christmas' street art campaign and fell so hard for the lurcher puppies, George and Angelina, she posed with for promotional photographs, she decided to take the female dog - who is named after actress Angelina Jolie - home to care for her.
The 53-year-old presenter is proud to be supporting the campaign, which urges the nation to think twice about giving puppies as Christmas presents only to be given up later.
Linda said: "This campaign is important to me because I want to help raise awareness of the importance of choosing a dog for the right reasons. It's vital to choose a dog from a reputable source such as the Dogs Trust who always have the dogs' welfare at heart".
The Dogs Trust launched the initiative - which has seen street artists Id-iom create 12 unique designs across the UK - after hearing some shocking reasons for animals given over to their 20 rehoming centres, including "he wagged his tail too much", "he looked different after we walked him in the rain" and "all the puppy did was sleep".
Giles Webber, responsible for rehoming at Dogs Trust's 20 rehoming centres commented:"With more and more puppies flooding the Christmas market, all available at the click of a button -it is more essential than ever that our iconic message "A Dog is For Life, Not Just For Christmas" is ingrained in people's minds.
"We hope that this visually striking campaign will encourage people to think twice about the commitment of dog ownership before impulsively buying a puppy. Our aim is to ensure that the artwork will be the only abandoned dogs the British public will see on their streets this Christmas period."
Britain's Prince Harry has been advised to learn to blow raspberries.
It was recently claimed the 30-year-old prince's sister-in-law Duchess Catherine - who was known Kate Middleton before her marriage to William - is planning to buy him a yellow labrador for Christmas and he has now been offered advice on capturing his new puppy's attention.
Richard Best, a vet who is also the official puppy scout for Andrex, who famously use the dogs in their advertising, said: "Now Prince Harry is about to get his own puppy, he should know that they need a lot of care and attention.
"If he did ever need to capture their attention, there are two fail safe methods I would advise.
"Firstly, Andrex Puppies will do anything for chicken or fish paste, this is a great trick if you ever need them to come to you quickly.
"Secondly, you should also practice your raspberries. Andrex Puppies are fascinated by the sound. Their ears immediately prick up if you can perfect the noise."
And Harry is likely to have a lot of fun with his new pet because they are such "playful" animals.
Matt Stone, Andrex Brand Manager said: "It's great news that Prince Harry is getting a Labrador retriever puppy for Christmas. By their very nature Andrex Puppies are caring, happy and playful which is why the breed has been an embodiment of the brand for over 42 years."
Spain's King Felipe has called for action to prevent the country suffering a "lost generation" of scientists.
The 46-year-old monarch has urged the government to do something to halt the problem of young researchers being trained and then heading to work overseas, telling those assembled at a Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) 75th anniversary event that the loss would be "difficult to overcome and incompatible with the needs of a modern state."
The king called on public authorities and businesses "to drive a new advancement of Spanish science" to benefit society and highlighted the importance of science and new technology in the creation of new jobs.
He went on to urge everyone involved to work together to "favour the growth of science in Spain".
Felipe's remarks were in contrast to those of Spain's Education Minister, José Ignacio Wert, who claimed last year the flood of workers abroad was"not always a bad thing", and could be "one of the best things" to happen in a scientist's career.
However, while the king - who was accompanied to the event by his wife Queen Letizia - admitted the movement of scientific talent was a positive thing, he insisted it shouldn't "in any way" happen as a result of "unacceptably high unemployment levels".
Recent European Union figures show Spain is among the countries hardest hit by professionals leaving the country as a result of the economic crisis and soaring unemployment levels, while a new survey found 60 percent of young Spaniards are considering leaving Spain for work.
Britain's Prince William was "humbled" by conservation award winners last night (25.11.14).
The 32-year-old royal - who is a patron of the Tusk Trust animal conservation charity - handed out prizes at the Tusk Convervation Awards at Claridge's hotel in London and praised the recipients for their "selfless dedication".
He said: "The people we celebrate tonight, the nominees and all those they represent, work in some of the remotest and harshest environments on the continent.
"They regularly put their own lives at risk for the sake of conserving some of Africa's rarest and most treasured species.
"Their unquestioning, selfless dedication to the cause is humbling, and I pay tribute to all of you.
"The work of this year's finalists serves to illustrate some of our greatest conservation challenges: dramatic loss of lion; poaching of elephant and rhino; deforestation and the critical need for community involvement."
Richard Bonham was honoured with the Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa for his contribution to safeguarding the wildlife and the Maasai community in Kenya, while Madagascan activist Herizo Andrianandrasana received the Tusk Conservation Award for inspiring people at home to become involved in conservation management.
Richard said: "Recognition is always an amazing thing especially when you're persevering for years and sometimes think you're not achieving anything.
"The most important thing is raising awareness to what you're doing."
During his speech, William - whose wife Duchess Catherine is pregnant with their second child - highlighted the plight of some species in Africa.
He said: "Africa's elephant population has crashed from 1.3 million in 1979 to approximately just 400,000 today.
"South Africa is currently losing more than three rhino a day to feed demand for rhino horn.
"The African lion is now estimated to be fewer than 25,000, and of course there are numerous lesser known species facing similar or worse fates."
The duke also announced a new award will be given next year to recognise those who tackle illegal poachers.
Benedict Cumberbatch wishes his fans had a different name.
The 'Imitation Game' actor has a dedicated following of female supporters who call themselves Cumberbitches and though he is "flattered" by their attention, he thinks they ought to choose a less "rude" nickname.
He said: "It's funny and I'm flattered. But on a serious note, come on, give yourself more power as women. Don't just call yourself bitches!
"I know it was a joke, and more of an empowering thing. The majority of [the fans] are smart and savvy and just having fun, but it's getting out there. It sounds a bit [rude]."
And the 38-year-old actor has several suggestions of alternative monikers.
He said: "Cumbersomes? Cumbercollective? Cumberfans? There's lots of stuff!"
Benedict recently got engaged to theatre director Sophie Hunter and is very impressed with how well she copes with his female devotees.
He told People magazine: "She's just so in command of it.
"It could be a difficult thing, but she's just really cool. It's really impressive."
The 'Sherlock' star is looking forward to taking a break over the festive season and is planning a "traditional" celebration.
He said: "I like a traditional Christmas, the whole nine yards. It's all about just shutting down and shutting off for a bit. Going off the grid."
Eva Mendes is "heartbroken" at the thought of embarrassing her daughter.
The 40-year-old actress admits she is making new considerations about her career choices now she is a mother to Esmeralda, her two-month-old baby with boyfriend Ryan Gosling.
She told Violet Grey magazine: "I want to stay present with her. But I do consider how my own actions now will seem to her later on. For instance, with the Violet Grey photo shoot, I thought, 'Is this something that she's going to be proud of?' The idea that I would ever embarrass her is really heartbreaking for me."
The 'Holy Motors' actress and the 'Drive' actor - who have been together for three years - chose their daughter's name after being inspired by one of their favourite books.
She explained: "We both love the Esmeralda character from the Victor Hugo novel 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' and just think it's a beautiful name.
"Her middle is Amada, which was my grandmother's name. It means 'beloved' in Spanish.
"We were really excited about naming her."
Since having her little girl, Eva is astonished at how much of a "struggle" life is for very young children.
She said: "I've learned that it's way harder to be a baby.
"Everything is a struggle for her. For instance, I haven't thrown up since the '90s and she's thrown up twice since we started this interview. Motherhood is cake compared to what it's like to be a baby."
Ridley Scott got "very close" to his brother Tony Scott before his death.
The 76-year-old filmmaker's sibling died at the age of 68 in August 2012 when he committed suicide, leaving Ridley devastated.
However, the 'Alien' director is grateful that he had spent a lot of time with Tony before the tragedy occurred due to the 'Top Gun' creator's lengthy battle with brain cancer - something the family kept secret.
Speaking about his brother's "inexplicable" death publicly for the first time, Ridley told Variety: "Tony had been very unwell, actually, and that's the moment I realised I had to get very close to him again, though we were always close."
Ridley - whose older brother Frank died from skin cancer in 1980 at the age of 45 - misses Tony everyday but has so many fond memories of him, including their impromptu drinking sessions when he was being treated for his cancer.
He said: "I miss a friend. I'd go to him even when he was doing his recovery, and I'd say, 'F**k the chemo, have a Vodka Martini,' and he and I would go out."
Ridley ends his new film 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' - which is out in December - with a dedication to his younger brother Tony.
Nicole Kidman wants to have four more children.
The 47-year-old actress has four kids - an adopted daughter and son, Isabella, 21, and Connor, 19, from her failed marriage to Tom Cruise, and daughters Sunday, six, and four-year-old Faith with her husband Keith Urban - but admits she would love to take her brood up to eight, even if her mother disagrees.
When asked if she wants more kids, she replied: "I have four children already and my sister has six children so my mum's like, 'We're done. We're done.'
"If I could I would have four more."
While Nicole makes sure Sunday and Faith are kept grounded by giving them chores to do, the 'Paddington' actress admits she doesn't ever iron clothes or cook but makes up for it with her love of washing garments, admitting she can't get enough of seeing dirty water come out of her outfits.
She added: "I don't do the ironing, even though as a kid that was my number one chore at home. Ironing my dad's shirts, which I loved doing.
"Sunday and Faith both have their chores that they have to do every single day even though they groan about it.
"I certainly do my things. I love washing clothes. I do love it, I love watching the dirty water come out. I sound so OCD. I just love seeing them get clean.
"I'm not a cook. I love to be cooked for."
Nicole admitted she and Keith will be "holding tight to each other" over the festive period as she remembers her late father, Dr. Antony Kidman, who died in September aged 75, and she believes the couple have endured such a great marriage because they met later in life.
Speaking on ITV's 'Lorraine', she added: "We've been married eight years and together for nine. We work really hard to keep a relationship alive and to keep it incredibly deep and intimate.
"That's through meeting in later life and having lived a life and coming together at a particular time that was serendipitous.
"There are incredible possibilities for love in the latter years. I sound like some old woman. Like a grandmother. Anyway, it's good and I'm grateful.
"We've had some terrible things happen this year in our family so we'll be holding tight to each other. That's all you can do at Christmas. Hold tight to each other."
Simon Cowell says Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is a "great friend".
The 55-year-old music mogul laughs when he reads that he and his fellow 'X Factor' judge are at loggerheads and insists they have a very close relationship.
Relations between the pair did become strained when Simon axed her from the judging panel of the US version of 'The X Factor' in 2011, but they were able to repair their relationship leading to the former Girls Aloud star returning to the UK version of the talent show this year.
Despite clashing over their acts on the panel - which also includes Mel B and Louis Walsh - Simon insists they get on brilliantly.
He posted on Twitter: "I keep reading me and @CherylOfficial have fallen out. We haven't. She has proven to be a great friend. (sic)"
Meanwhile, Simon is set to get a sexy Christmas present from Cheryl, 31, and Mel, 39.
The pair are reportedly going to present him with a racy pop art picture of themselves depicting Cheryl holding Mel's bare breasts emblazoned with the words "Feels So Good".
The artwork was created by American street artist Pegasus - who is now based in London - and is said to be worth £10,000 and the judges want to give it to Simon to say thanks for having them as mentors on 'The X Factor' this year.
Leonard Villa - Pegasus' manager - told the Daily Star newspaper: "He wanted to create a tongue-in-cheek painting of the girls which he thinks all three of them will love. Pegasus thinks Simon is a genius and has given us so much in terms of entertainment and great music, and he wanted to give something back. He's the artist and if he wants to gift some of his paintings through Cheryl and Mel for Christmas, then it's a very nice thing to do."
