Emily Blunt embarrassed by musical ignorance

Emily Blunt is "embarrassed" not to have seen the 'Into The Woods' stage show.
The 31-year-old British actress plays the Baker's Wife in the new movie adaptation of the hit musical but didn't have as much to reference as her American co-stars like Meryl Streep and Anna Kendrick, but thinks that's understandable because of her upbringing.
She said: "I'm embarrassed to say I had not seen the show, I had heard of it ... I don't think it's done as much in the UK, in every American school or college it seems to be performed a lot."
Emily admits she was even shocked to learn her husband John Krasinski - with who she has 10-month-old daughter Hazel - was more familiar with the production than she was.
She said: "I was surprised that my husband, who does not like musicals, knew of 'Into the Woods' and even sang to me on my way to the audition, the man who never watches musicals."
The brunette beauty had to sing in the production and found the experience "nerve-wracking" but was happy to overcome her fears as she wanted to work with her 'Devil Wears Prada' co-star Meryl again, under the directorship of Rob Marshall.
She explained: "That was a really nerve-wracking experience. I've always found it very nerve-wracking to sing in front of people but in this case it was really hard to say no because I wanted to work with Meryl again, I loved Rob and the part."

Azealia Banks’ alter egos

Azealia Banks has three alter egos.
The outspoken rapper insists one personality is "not enough" so she tries to express herself though different guises, each with their own character traits.
She explained: "One personality is not enough for me. I need to express myself through alternate fictitious mouthpieces.
"Sometimes I'm Yung Rapunxel who is vivacious and feisty. Then another day I might be Little Bambi, who is sexy and likes to show her bits but doesn't want to be touched.
"Finally I have Mariposa, which is the Spanish word for butterfly. My mum worked late when I was a kid so I was raised by Dominican babysitters and they gave me the name. It means I am flighty and delicate."
Azealia has a number of pets but her guinea pig in particular doesn't get on with her other animals.
She told Q magazine: "Kanye is my guinea pig. He's got a bit of an attitude and my two cats are always trying to take him out. He antagonises them through the bars of the cage.
"One day he'll be lunch unless he realises his position in the food chain is much lower than a cat's."

Marvin Humes ‘keeps things fresh’ in marriage

Marvin Humes works hard at his marriage because he doesn't want his daughter to have separated parents.
The former JLS member married Rochelle Humes in 2012 and is always trying to keep the spark of their relationship alive with romantic gestures because he would be horrified if their 20-month-old daughter Alaia-Mai had parents who were no longer together.
He said: "We have a child now, which is wonderful, but that does change everything.
"So we still make sure we do things now that we did when we were just dating to keep things fresh.
"I wouldn't ever want Alaia to come from a split home, but unless you keep things moving forward in your relationship, that can happen."
The 29-year-old hunk - who co-hosts BBC singing competition 'The Voice UK' - explained he enjoys treating the Saturdays band member to a home-cooked meal every morning and said they often exchange presents to remind each other of their love.
He continued: "I like to think I'm romantic... I'm probably a bit more soppy than Rochelle. I cook her breakfast every day. I'm talking proper, proper breakfast, not just toast and beans. And we always buy each other little gifts, go on little trips together.
"We actually had this conversation when we went to Paris a few weeks ago about the importance of keeping that other element of your relationship alive.
Although it has been almost two years since the celebrity couple had their first child, the radio DJ admitted they are not looking to have another baby again anytime soon, but said it is "realistic" his 25-year-old sweetheart will fall pregnant again "in the next couple of years."
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he added: "We're not planning... but I think another baby sometime in the next couple of years is realistic."

Katy Perry and John Mayer rekindle romance

Katy Perry and John Mayer are believed to be dating again.
The couple - who dated on and off following Katy's divorce from husband Russell Brand in 2012 - announced their separation in February 2014, but are believed to have rekindled their romance after being spotted having a romantic meal at Hollywood hotspot Tower Bar on Thursday (08.01.15), their second in one week.
One diner said: "Katy Perry and John Mayer walked in together, arm in arm, and the whole room literally fell silent.
"Even Dimitri Dimitrov -- Hollywood's most famous maitre d', who has seen everything -- and Sunset Tower owner Jeff Klein both stopped mid-sentence when John and Katy arrived, as if they wanted to announce to everyone in Hollywood they are back together."
Other shocked onlookers at the prestigious restaurant included supermodel Naomi Campbell, actresses Scarlett Johansson and Reese Witherspoon, rapper Kid Cudi and 'American Sniper' director, Clint Eastwood.
The 30-year-old pop sensation was believed to be dating super-producer Diplo, but rumours she had reconciled with the 'Paper Doll' hitmaker emerged earlier this week when she was once again spotted dining with the star at a friend's house in Beverly Hills, California, with the 37-year-old singer spending the night at Katy's home.
The pair - who previously duetted on a track titled 'Who You Love', released in December 2013 - reportedly spent the night together following the meal with pals last weekend, with John not leaving the 'Roar' singer's home until 4pm the following day.

Rita Ora: The Voice coaches like ‘a cool little family’

Rita Ora has described 'The Voice UK' coaches as "a cool little family".
The 24-year-old pop princess will make her first appearance on the singing competition this evening (10.01.15) following the departure of Kylie Minogue from the panel in 2014, and said although she found it nerve-racking when she joined the show, she gets on well with her fellow coaches, will.i.am, Ricky Wilson and Tom Jones.
She said: "I was extremely nervous, because the other coaches are experienced and I felt a bit of pressure being the only female. I wanted to be prepared, so I did my research by watching shows from the last series with Kylie. It's a cool little family we have here."
Despite her doubts about joining the BBC One programme, 39-year-old Will reassured the 'I Will Never Let You Down' hitmaker she would be good on the show, even though she has only released one album, 2012's 'Ora'.
He explained: "I'm so proud of Rita because she was really afraid of taking the job. She was like, 'What can I tell the people who audition? I've only had a couple of records out, myself'. But these guys look up to her because she's an artist and an entrepreneur."
Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky, 36, added he considered leaving the show after appearing on the show for one series, but decided to stay when he found out the blonde beauty would be joining the line-up.
He told the Daily Mirror's We Love TV magazine: "I wanted to know who was replacing Kylie before committing to another series, and Rita swung my decision to stay."

Jacqueline Jossa expecting baby girl

Jacqueline Jossa and Dan Osborne are expecting a baby girl.
The 'Only Way is Essex' star revealed they are having a daughter together, after announcing last August that the 22-year-old actress was pregnant.
Writing on the image-sharing social network where he posted a photo of themselves with a pink and purple cake, he said: "Can't keep it a secret anymore.. Me and @jacjossa are having a girl! (sic)"
The 23-year-old hunk already has a son, Teddy, from a previous relationship, but the tot - who is expected to be born soon - will be the 'EastEnders' actress' first child.
Speaking last year when they first confirmed they were having a baby together - after less than a year of dating - Dan said he felt "blessed".
He gushed: "Becoming a father has been the most amazing thing to ever happen to me. I can't believe I'm going to be a dad again - I'm truly blessed."
While the couple seem to be loved-up in their most recent Instagram update, the Essex lad sparked speculation they had split up in November with a negative tweet about his love life.
Writing on Twitter in November, he said: "Relationships just do not seem to work [thumbs down and sad face emoticons]."
The TV personality has also expressed his doubts in the past over whether the young actress is "the one" for him.
He said: "Hopefully I'm with someone who knows enough about me to trust me. Is Jacqueline the one? It's hard to say but I'd like to think so."

Richard E Grant cast in Jekyll and Hyde TV adaptation

Richard E Grant and Natalie Gumede have been cast in ITV's 'Jekyll and Hyde' adaptation.
The 57-year-old actor will star opposite the former 'Coronation Street' actress and 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant in an upcoming television version of the novella, which is due to begin filming next month.
The 30-year-old star - who recently appeared in the 'Doctor Who' Christmas special in which she aided the Doctor and Clara in defeating dream crabs - will play a woman called Bella who is in a love triangle with Dr Jekyll's grandson in the updated version of the drama, with Richard portraying the head of a mysterious government department.
The 10-part series - which has been created by 'Fast Show' comic Charlie Higson - will be inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's classic about kind-hearted Dr. Jekyll who turns into evil Mr. Hyde after drinking a potion he has brewed in his laboratory.
The updated series - which will be set in 1930s London and is expected to be broadcast in 2016 - will focus on the original protagonist's grandson, Robert Jekyll (Tom Bateman), who discovers he has inherited his grandfather's unfortunate trait of transforming into the monstrous alter-ego and embarks on an investigation to uncover why he has been "cursed".
Speaking about the series last year, Charlie, 56, said: "It's an exciting challenge to take Stevenson's work and use it as the basis for a new 'Jekyll and Hyde'.
"So many superheroes with secret dual personalities have been brought to life thanks to 'Jekyll & Hyde'. He's one of literatures most important and influential characters and it's a privilege to be rediscovering him."

Simon Neil had breakdown

Biffy Clyro's Simon Neil had a "breakdown" last year.
The 'Mountains' singer was ordered onto bed rest by doctors and he admits he was "terrified" when he realised he had reached breaking point.
He said: "Getting older, my own mortality popped into my mind a lot more. I ended up having a bit of a breakdown.
"I was just about to go into America, through immigration and I had to get taken side and wired up to this heart monitor, strapped into this chair and there were medics all around me.
"It was the most terrifying moment of my life because I felt like my mind and body just broke.
"I was ordered to have bed rest by the doctor because I was just in such a bad state. There was a big change - a forced change - in my personal life. Rather than thinking about the band all the time, I took a big step back and thought about my survival as a human being."
The 35-year-old rocker admits he even considered giving up music in a bid to get better, but is now feeling stronger than ever.
He told Q magazine: "I went on holiday and spent some time with my wife.
"Things became very clear to me about how to let my own soul flourish while digging into dark places. I think, as well, just singing really personal songs took their toll and I felt like a bit of a shell of a man and I kind of lost myself. At a certain point I thought, 'Can I be happy and do this? If I'm mining these parts of my mind and soul can I do that and still exist in a healthy place?' I realised I'm not quite as invincible as I thought I was.
"But good old prescriptions can get you through anything. I feel great now."

Eddie Redmayne’s career doubts

Eddie Redmayne has "often" considered quitting acting.
The 'Theory of Everything' actor may be tipped for an Oscar for his role in the biopic but he always fears being "found out" but finds his work addictive.
Asked if he has considered quitting acting, he said: "Very often, yeah. You always think you're going to be found out.
"Because you're doing this thing you did as a kid and you enjoy it so much, sometimes you think, maybe I should just leave now. It's a bit of a drug, it's very addictive."
The 33-year-old actor feels very "lucky" with the roles he has had so far in his career and is looking forward to his next movies.
He told OK! magazine: "I love telling stories and I think that's basically what actors are - we're storytellers. I have been lucky to tell extraordinary stories.
"The next story I'm going to tell is a really beautiful and complicated one. It's a film called 'The Danish Girl'. It's a love story but also about one of the first Transgender women in Copenhagen in the 1920s.
"I'm just beginning to prepare for it and have met so many amazing people from the trans community. It's an extraordinary story."

Eddie Redmayne: Everyone tackled Prince William in rugby at school

Eddie Redmayne claims everyone wanted to tackle Britain's Prince William when playing rugby at school.
The 'Les Miserables' actor attended the prestigious boarding school Eton College in Berkshire with the Duke of Cambridge as a youngster, and recalled feeling sympathetic for him because the students all wanted to tackle him when playing the contact sport.
He explained: "We were on the same rugby team at Eton College.
"I always felt slightly sorry for him because everyone wanted to tackle the future king of England. He took all the hits."
The 33-year-old actor has previously spoken about his royal connection - with whom he was a member of elite group, the Eton Society - by admitting he didn't share his passion for music and drama.
While the handsome star was being trained as a chorister, the 32-year-old father-of-one concentrated on his studies as well as captaining his house football team and playing water polo.
He joked: "I don't think singing was his thing."
Despite their differences, Eddie - who has been tipped for Bafta Award glory for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything' - praised the Duchess of Cambridge's husband.
He told Glamour magazine: "He's a wonderful man."

Channing Tatum instantly felt married

Channing Tatum already felt married to Jenna Dewan Tatum within a year after they met.
The 'Foxcatcher' actor began romancing his 'Step Up' co-star when they worked on 2006 movie 'Step Up' and though they didn't tie the knot until three years later, by that point it was just a legal move which made no difference to their feelings for one another.
Channing said: "We wore promise rings within the first year. We were already married in our heads and our hearts.
"I like saying, 'my wife'. It feels good to me. I feel grown up."
The 34-year-old actor has 19-month-old daughter Everly with Jenna and doesn't want to be a "controlling" father.
He said: "I don't want to be a controlling father. I know that's a dangerous weapon, in a way, to give children too much freedom. You have to let them live, let them grow."
The 'Magic Mike' hunk is close to his sister Paige and says she has taught him a lot about being a man.
He said: "[Through my mother and sister] I learned what a man is through a woman's eyes.
"My sister was a huge part of my life. How she would see men was really clear to me. I got to see it through her eyes and understand what was expected from me, even from my sister."

Taylor Swift wants to be nice

Taylor Swift would rather be nice than sexy.
The 'Blank Space' hitmaker doesn't worry about people thinking she is cool and is more concerned about her personality than her appearance.
She said: "Everyone has priorities. Being looked at as sexy? Not really on my radar. But I really hope people think I'm nice.
"I don't care if seeming nice is cool. I'm not focused on being cool and I never have been."
When she isn't working, Taylor admits her life isn't very glamorous and she loves nothing more than watching TV with her cats.
She added: "All I do when I'm not doing shows or interviews is watch TV. I'm a bit of a shut-in who stays inside and watches TV and hangs out with my cats.
"In life, cats always bring a smile to my face."
The 'Shake It Off' singer - who has previously dated stars including Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mayer - is currently happy being single and has no desire to give up her independence and start a new relationship.
She said: "I feel like watching my dating life has become a bit of a national pastime.
"Female friendship is more important to me than romance, without a doubt. I love how happy I am now. I'm not lonely.
"I've been with myself for so long, I like it. I'm not willing to give that independence up for anyone."
When she does start dating again, the blonde beauty wants a man who can make her laugh.
She told TOTP magazine: "To get through stuff you need humour. You have to be able to make a joke. If someone thinks you're funny and you think they are, you can base a whole relationship on that."
