Paddy McGuinness: I’d only do I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here if I was skint

Paddy McGuinness would only appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’ if he was "skint".

The ‘Take Me Out’ host has confessed that although he’s a massive fan of the ITV reality series, he would only take part if he needed more money or if his career needed a boost and he also insisted he would be honest with viewers about his reasons for doing it.

He explained: "If you were skint or if you wanted a bit of a career boost, I’d be the first one with a kangaroo’s testicle in my mouth.

"I’d never deny it. I wouldn’t say, ‘I’m here for the journey’. To be honest, I think people would respect you a bit more for it."

The 41-year-old funny man says it’s unlikely celebrities would agree to the terrifying challenges hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly [Ant and Dec] task them with in the Australian jungle unless they had something to gain.

He explained to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I think people see through it. You’re not going to be buried in a coffin with six million cockroaches unless you want the money or you want a bit of a boost – there’s no other reason to be doing it.

"Sometimes the people that are on it, they go, ‘I’m here for the journey and experience’. And I’m like, ‘Come on, come on, mate’."
