Paddy Jones is "absolutely devastated" after withdrawing from ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The 79-year-old salsa dancer, who wowed the judges in the auditions with her dance partner Nico Espinosa, suffered an injury during rehearsals for the live semi-finals and has been forced to quit the show.
Paddy lamented to The Sun newspaper: "It’s heartbreaking.
"I’ll be flying back to London this afternoon but I cannot compete at the weekend. I’m feeling much better but there is no way I can dance – I’ve been told I won’t be able to for another month at least.
"I’m absolutely devastated. I was really looking forward to competing."
Paddy and Nico were put straight through to the live shows when judge Amanda Holden pressed the Golden Buzzer after their show-stopping audition.
Amanda is sad her favourite act won’t be able to perform again, but says Paddy’s health is of the utmost importance.
She said: "Ever since I first saw Paddy dance I fell in love with her. I was so looking forward to her and Nico wowing us with another amazing routine in the semi-finals and I really think she could have won the whole show.
"The most important thing though is that she makes a speedy recovery and gets back to living life to the full."
