Ovie Soko snubbed from group chat

Ovie Soko was never included in the ‘Love Island’ group chat.
The 28-year-old hunk – who came third on the show with India Reynolds – has been baffled by Maura Higgins’ recent comments that the WhatsApp exchange has gone very quiet because, although he has all his fellow contestants’ phone numbers, he had no idea what she was talking about.
He told Metro.co.uk: "A lot of people have been asking about this Love Island WhatsApp group…
"This seems to be the thing. I mean, I’ve got everyone’s numbers from Love Island, but I’m not part of any group…
"So maybe there’s a group out there that I’m not part of… Are you telling me I should be part of the group?
"You’ve just let me know I’m not part of the group, oh wow. Wow."
‘Love Island’ is to launch a winter series, set in South Africa, and though Ovie is unsure how it will compare to the original, he’s thankful he was in the Majorca villa.
He said: "I’m not sure, I don’t know whether it’s going to be as big as the summer one or not, I really couldn’t tell you.
"That’s human nature, you always want more at the end of the day.
I’m happy with Majorca, Majorca was a good experience."
Since appearing on the show, Ovie has landed a guest slot on ‘This Morning’ and a collaboration with ASOS and he hopes he’s set a good example to others about being themselves.
He said: "It’s wild, the whole journey thus far has been dope. Something I couldn’t really put entirely into words, but it’s just been amazing.
"I think what it represents, it’s a lot bigger than a TV show could ever be. ‘It’s given hope to everyone, in my opinion, and let them know that being yourself can get you good things in life. Having good, positive energy does go a long way."
