Overload Generation ‘gutted’ about X Factor exit

Overload Generation are "gutted" about their ‘X Factor’ exit.

The boy band were kicked off the show on Sunday evening (12.10.14) after the first live shows of the series and despite feeling devastated, the group admitted they won’t forget the experience in a hurry.

Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’. they said: "Obviously we are gutted, but we had the time of our lives on there.

"It was a mad experience and not many people were lucky enough to do what we were able to do so we are just so grateful for that."

The lads – who have already amassed an online following of over 200,000 – performed a rendition of Katy Perry’s ‘I Kissed a Girl’ on the singing contest on Saturday night (11.10.14) but were criticised by judges for not being any different to any other boy bands.

However, band member Joey Devries has slammed the judges’ comments, insisting the judges were particularly harsh on them.

He said: "Well, Saturday night we did give it our all. I don’t think it was as bad as they [the judges] made it out to be – when we got back and watched it back, it weren’t that bad. We were going to bring more the week after but obviously…"

The five-piece band are being optimistic despite their departure from the competition, explaining they will continue to make music and are gearing up for the release of their first single.

Ollie Garland added: "I think the thing for us is that we didn’t get to perform more of our original stuff like we did [at] Wembley … but that’s all going to change in the upcoming year – we’ve got our single ‘No No No’ out in April so we’re looking forward to that."
