Ore Oduba wishes he could have given birth for his wife

Ore Oduba wishes he could have given birth to his child for his wife Portia.
The 32-year-old TV presenter – who won ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2016 – wanted to take some of the weight off his spouse’s shoulders when she welcomed the couple’s son Roman, seven months, into the world earlier this year, but admits he doesn’t think he would’ve possessed the "strength" to go through the birthing process.
Speaking on author Giovanna Fletcher’s ‘Happy Mum Happy Baby’ podcast, he said: "I was thinking on the way here, I was thinking if I could share some of that load and bear the child I would love to because I think it’s nice to have that empathy.
"The point I was going to say was the delivery of the child, I don’t think I have the strength to do it because when I, we were in the delivery room and Roman was being born, that whole period of Portia going into labour, I was blown away, absolutely blown away by the character, and the strength of character and the super human abilities."
Ore’s heart was "melted" when his wife came rushing over to show him they were expecting their first child, and he described feeling as being "broken in the best possible way".
He recalled: "She ran into another room and came back with a stick that said pregnant. I melted, I absolutely melted and we just came together, embraced, and we were both just in tears because I guess you can never guarantee that it’s going to happen.
"Even though I had been dreaming about it, she had been hoping and dreaming about it, and we had been discussing it forever between us, you can’t prepare for that moment that you are going to be parents and the thing that you have always longed for is gonna happen in a few short months’ time.
"I was completely broken in the best possible way."
