Ore Oduba tops Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard during semi-final

Ore Oduba topped the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard with two contrasting performances during the show’s semi-final.
The sports presenter came back from being in the dance off last Saturday night to wow the judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Darcey Bussell – with an energetic quickstep to ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’.
Len, who gave Ore a standing ovation, said: "I’ll tell you that quickstep was a triumph. Speed and control, you had both of those. The key is – move fast and don’t look rushed and you never did."
Whilst Darcey excitedly shared: "Wow, you came alive! It was terrific. You sped past us across the dancefloor. The energy, the attack, the focus was all there. Well done!"
Ore later took to the dancefloor to perform a passionate Argentine tango to ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’.
Bruno described it as "mesmerising, magnetic and hypnotic".
He said: "That was mesmerising, I could hardly breathe because of the magnetic hypnotic dance. I don’t know if I was watching a lion tamer or a magician. I am telling you, that was outstanding."
And Danny Mac impressed with his American Smooth to ‘Misty Blue’, even earning the praise of Craig.
He said: "That was right up my street. I loved it!"
Whilst Len added: "On that dance, I’ve got to agree with Craig now – that is right up my alley. You did the natural turns so beautifully."
With the competition getting tougher, Louise Redknapp and Claudia Fragapane ended up joint bottom of the table despite their fantastic performances throughout the night.
Commenting on Claudia’s quickstep to ‘When You’re Smiling’, Craig said: "It did get me smiling! I loved the end of that routine. You had character throughout the whole thing. You danced like you were dancing for your life."
Whilst Louise’s tango to ‘Glad All Over’ excited the judges.
Len said: "It reminded me of the Generation Game and as Brucie would say, ‘Didn’t she do well.’ Full of attack, full of attitude. There was a little moment here … but there was so much good in that routine, well done!"
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues on Sunday (11.12.16).
